For our three day stop at Inle Lake we stayed at the Sanctum Inle Resort. Everything about our stay was wonderful. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Our room was spacious with plenty of space to store clothes and all of our gadgets. Every morning breakfast was very satisfying with plenty of options. The restaurant offered a complete menu with a wide variety of Asian and Western foods. The restaurant setting is beautiful overlooking the pool and the lake in the distance. Yet the real jewel for the Sanctum is the staff. Always very friendly and ready to take care of any need. The general manager, Baptiste, was constantly checking on us, answering questions, giving advice, and making certain that our stay was a wonderful experience. We would highly recommend the Sanctum for anyone looking for an ideal place to stay in the Inle Lake area

This is a beautiful place with gorgeous facilities and delicious food. It is more of a place for older folks and couples and it a bit off the beaten path. But even as a single traveler there is plenty to do here to keep yourself occupied with excursions one can book right from the hotel.

Sanctum Inle Resort offers a relaxing retreat or base to explore Inle Lake and the surrounding areas. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was a nice surprise and the villa was spacious and very well appointed. The pool offers a refreshing dip with views onto Inle Lake. Staff always have a smile and are very accomodating to any requests. Breakfast is a la carte and offered a very good variety of options. Complimentary bicycles are provided to explore the surrounding areas. Dinner was delicious and the waiter made an excellent recommendation for a locally produced red wine to accompany the food. I would however have liked to see more local dishes offered in the restaurant. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sanctum Inle Resort.

The sanctum on Inle Lake is a gorgeous boutique hotel on the lake edge. Service was exquisite, from happy caring staff. We had a suite with glorious views of a lake Inle. Food and beverages were both fabulous. The one day tour on the lake to the various villages, pagodas and markets is a wonderful experience. Hot air ballooning is the plan when we return. I wish we had stayed longer! A surprisingly excellent find in the middle of Myanmar!!

Fantastic hotel with great rooms and service. Right on Inle Lake and we were upgraded when we arrived. Great place to relax or explore the lake on a range of tours that the hotel provides. Also great value for money. The restaurant was very good with a good rangeof food at reasonless prices. I would totally recommend this place to anyone visiting Myanmar.

The hotel is very well situated with a lovely view. It has a beautiful pool and the rooms are very comfortable. The hotel has the feel of a luxury hotel that could be anywhere in Europe which is both a good thing (the luxury side) and a less good things (not as much local feeling as some of the other hotels). All that being said it is a very good deal for the price and we would certainly stay there happily again.

We stayed at several hotels while in Inle Lake and while the quality of construction at the Sanctum was good, the overall resort was sort of barren and soul-less. Unlike the other resorts we stayed at, the grounds were void of any plants, flowers, decor or lushness, and even the grass was dry and brown. The room layout was also a bit strange. You could see the lake from the room but it was off in the distance. When the bellman brought us and our bags to our room, he could not get the electronic key to work. We had problems with it the entire time we were there. We stayed at a 4 star hotel just down the road that was much much nicer, not just the rooms but also the grounds and the spa. We couldn't figure out why this hotel was considered a 5 star and the other a 4 star. It seemed the ratings should have been reversed. The main reason I said I would not recommend this hotel is because the hotel we stayed at just down the street was a much better choice.

This hotel blew all other hotels in the area out of the water. The breakfast was amazing and the staff was top knotch. The comfort and style of the rooms was refreshing after a week in plain white boxes in other hotels around the country. This hotel was an international five star, which is certainly not true for other "five star" hotels in Myanmar.
