Requested late checkout on the phone before staying, was accepted and told 2PM was perfect.
I was woken at 8am by the TV making noise and then showing a bright-white logo, turned it off and it switched back on, i had to wait 5 mins before the TV would allow me to turn it off, meaning I was now fully awake.
When I finally managed to go to sleep again, I was then awoken by a staff member banging FURIOUSLY hard on the door. It turns out the night staff had failed to informed the day-staff of my late checkout. This is an inappropriate way to wake someone compared to calling the hotel phone, and inappropriate due to the lack of handover.
I have slept incredibly poorly and am frustrated I have paid full-cost for the room. I am now travelling home on little sleep, truly a trip-ruining event.

This is our 3rd time to the Bastion for the Graspop Metal Meeting festival. When I booked last November, I asked for the same room we stayed in the last time. A rep from the hotel said thry would try to give us that room. However, upon checking in the rep even stated my request and I said yes I wanted the same room as last time. She gave me a room in the middle of the hall, instead of a corner room like I had before previously. This room/area was super noisy and people were smoking in the rooms all around our room. This is a non smoking hotel as far as I know. But didnot seem to matter everyone was smoking setting off the smoke detector across the hall from us. I do not like cigarette smoke at all. I was very unimpressed!

If you have work on outskirts of eindhoven. This is right on the highway. Good alternative to van der walk which is right across the road but 30% costlier
Bastion has big comfortable rooms and spacious bathrooms.
Food was good at the restaurant.
Speed of service could have been better

The first problem is the very large, very slow Prison Gate to get in. It is, in a word, disturbing.
Second, my room door rattled the entire time. It seemed, if anything happened in the hallway, the door would rattle like someone was trying to get in. Like an air pressure problem coupled with a poorly made door. And this went on all night. Kept me up.
Then, I never got a receipt. I get not printing to save paper, but it wasn't even emailed. Nothing.

Very nice hotel conveniently located near Eindhoven. Room was clean. spacious, with amenities, nice seating and comfortable bed.
Work space was limited due to curved cut making it transition from adequate to very narrow.
Lots of security. Have to use key card to operate the elevator, to open the hallway door as well as your room door.
The place is like a fortress with a fence surrounding the property. You cannot walk onto the lot as the walkway gate is locked.
The gate to the parking lot is a challenge. The stanchion with the button is not reachable from your car meaning you have to get out and walk to press the button. The gate is closed at night and you must wait for the staff to release the gate.
Overall a nice stay and I recommended this hotel.

It's very difficult and inconvenient to figure out how to get into the hotel. You need to hit a button in the center of the car gate, your card will not open the gate door. It's a hotel not a fortress, this was needlessly complex and made an otherwise pleasant stay a little bit frustrating. You shouldn't have to interact with a human being just to get close to the hotel.
The beds were soft and comfortable, but wobbly in a way that you can easily fall off when you're sitting on them. They could have bought a better bed frame.
