I picked this hotel because of its proximity to Central Station, and to the area where tour guides and buses meet to pick up travellers. Since I like to walk, I found the distance to places like the Rijksmuseum and the Anne Frank House very doable. Front desk personnel was very helpful and attentive, especially Ario. Breakfast was plentiful, and the coffee machine offered several choices. My only worry about the room was the shower. It is a huge bathtub with only half a glass door, which means bathroom floor gets wet, creating the potential for a bad fall. One needs to be very cautious stepping out.

Excellent location, view from breakfast room across harbour is great. Friendly and efficient staff. Very good selection for breakfast. Parts of decor could do with a bit of tlc, otherwise would definitely stay there again if visiting Amsterdam.

City Hotel is super convenient to Amsterdam Centraal and the city’s main tourist areas. Big plus: outstanding free breakfast, which in an area where restaurants are not cheap, puts you ahead on the day. Food is fresh, tasty, and nutritious.

I stayed with my 3 boys. We got the suite. It was spacious and exactly like shown in the pictures with a canal view. Had a small kitchen and also a dining table which gave us lots of space. The hotel was family friendly. Included breakfast was a plus. The staff was very cooperative and helpful. It was a perfect location. You could catch a bus right from the front of the hotel. Central station was less than a 10 mins walk. Loved the location. The housekeeping was very efficient as well.

The rooms facing the river have a fantastic view. I stayed at the quadruple with my family and it was just perfect... breakfast is good (free) and the location could not be better right next to amsterdam centraal and only a few mins away from the buzzing city centre.

Basement meant no windows and was hot. Concierge could have been better as ran out of toilet paper. Good breakfast and location. Had a pleasant stay.
