The fire alarm falsely went off four times at around 11 pm. Nobody came to inform. Today, the staff in the lobby told me that all guests were supposed to come to the lobby to be informed it was a false alarm. At 11 pm. So, instead of sending somebody to the hallway of this hotel and inform their guests, the staff in this hotel obviously expect guests to wake up, redress and head to the lobby - just to be informed that there was a false alarm. Not one time obviously, but four times. Such a strange behaviour, and not even an excuse this morning.

A great place to stay if you have to be in Assen. It's in an almost perfect location in the city center. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best I've had, and the restaurant was also excellent.
If you arrive or depart on a Wednesday or Saturday, be aware that there is a wonderful local market in front of the hotel.on those days. If you need to take a taxi on those days, the taxi will pick you up / drop you off at the end of the street (about 200 meters from the hotel entrance).

However, my room was very close to the staircase and every time anyone came up or down the stairs it was very noisy. Avoid the rooms close to the stairwells.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff and restaurant next door. Close to two bus stops and only approximately 10 minute walk from Assen station. Markets outside on Wednesday and Sunday.

The location is good, there is a super market right a cross the street and many restaurants in the area. Only thing what we did not like, is that the sink in the bathroom was not working properly. For the rest, the breakfast buffet was good.
