We only found out how far the hotel was from our event when we arrived and had to spend more than 60 euros one way. We tried to make arrangements with the front desk person to reduce our stay because of false info given us during the online booking about how far the hotel was to our week long event. We ended up cancelling the entire booking and rebooked for a lesser number of days but the experience was extremely unpleasant because she kept on changing the room rates during the entire process. She knew we didn't have a choice and we felt that she was trying to gouge us which is a poor reflection of how a hotel chain person should act. She was condescending and treated us like we were stupid and kept on saying its our fault for cancelling. She doesn't have any business being in the front line. On the other hand, the housekeeping staff were very very nice and went out of their way to help us in our needs. They were very accommodating and physically assisted us with our luggage when we couldn't lift these up. Some of the dining room staff were also very nice and helpful. Lastly, my first room was too hot and there was no mechanism to adjust the temperature

We had a good stay (3 different rooms). The bed were comfortable, and there was no noise problems. Staff were friendly. We enjoyed that all the rooms had a bathtub. We had rooms were animals were allowed, and it's seems to be older hotel, which can be seen in the room condition, as well as in some of the fixtures, but we did manage to find sockets behind the night table. Breakfast buffet was fine, and dinner buffet was acceptable, though one could easily find better and cheaper alternatives in the area. We'll be glad to stay there another time, one of the best hotel I've been in where animals was allowed. Definitely value for money. If you're staying with animals: they charge 15 euro/night for it (at least for cats). I couldn't find the info online, which is why I mention it.

Where to start? Good points: Lovely setting. Excellent quality food. Bad points: No coffee/tea facilities in room. Cable for trouser press 3” short rendering it unusable. Only one restaurant, not 3 as stated. The restaurant only did ‘live cooking’ which is just an all you can eat buffet at €32.50 in the evening. Or the bar, coffee shop and cafe all had the same limited snack menu. The communication is not good, I think the staff struggle with English and I speak no Dutch. Therefore, we were given no information on the facilities or dining arrangements/procedure. The toiletries consisted of an all in one shampoo/ hand wash/shower gel/conditioner. Which did none of the jobs particularly well. When we first checked in we had no running water to the room. This was fixed within the hour only for our shower to stop working mid-lathering! Again, fixed quickly but inconvenient. I personally think the hotel falls short of four stars.

The only complaints I have. The room doors are so big and heavy and they make such a bang when closed you can here them all over the hotel. Also the food and drink vending machine is very expensive. No well known beers sold in the bar.
