Located close to Rijksmuseum and Amsterdam I am sign, very easy to get into the city centre. Staying in a dorm with 12 beds was fine, they were comfortable and noise was very little. The only downside was that there was only one bathroom (as in one toilet/shower in a room) per floor.

I am making a trip through Europe and so far this is the best hostel I have stayed in. The staff were really polite, VERY helpful, and friendly. The room was nice and clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The hostel is also in a good location. There are many good restaurants and coffee shops within a 10-15 minute walk. The museums and Iamsterdam sign are 5 minutes away

Cheapest place in Amsterdam we could find. Their was a reason. Staff were lovely and friendly. Room was tiny. Ensuite was a cupboard. Stairs very steep and thin. No towels in rooms. Needed to buy them if you didn’t bring your own.

This hostel is as basic as it gets. No kitchen, no lounge area, tiny bathrooms and only 3 for the entire place. It's on the 12 tram line which is handy, but don't be expecting big things.

Hi I had a room booked on the 21/06/18-23/06/18 we didn’t make it to the last day as we checked out early because we were disgusted about the room and how we was treated! We turned up on the Thursday 21/06/18 our first day To check in to reception to be told to come back at 5pm for maintenance which is fair enough so we left and came back at 5pm to room 301 that hadn’t been cleaned or sheets changed their was liquid or fluid left on the floor from the last people their it was disgusting! We went to reception to be told that the room will be cleaned at 6pm when we were out so that was fine. We returned back to room 301 at 3am where the room had still not been cleaned or sheets changed so was forced to sleep with no blankets or sheets as we didn’t want to use dirty sheets! In the morning 22/06/18 we made another complaint at reception and was told the room will be cleaned by 4:30pm and they apologised for the what happened and assured us it would be done to the new agreed time. When we came back to room 301 at 7pm it had still not been cleaned or sheets changed so me and my friends checked out on the 22/06/18 and didn’t stay for our last day. This place has ruined my Amsterdam experience Aden Flannagan

Pictures was ok when I booked the room but that was not in real. The place is totally different than a room you expected in a hotel. Very small room with noisy beds and not a clean area. Bitten with a bug (not sure if that was bed bug or something else) during stay in this room. Stairs are sucks. Totally not worse the amount I saved with booking this hostel room instead of real Hotel room.

It's a fairly spartan hostel fairly well located for visiting many Amsterdam attractions. It's on a main street so there is a bit of street noise. The stairs are steep and narrow and it's a pain getting luggage up and down. Toilets and showers are few. The rooms are fairly packed with bunk beds. This hostel is the most expensive hostel I have ever had anywhere, but it was the cheapest on expedia. Why is Amsterdam so expensive?

Very small and steep stairs, very tight room, no social area, no fridge, no kitchen, the only places where you can go are : room, bathroom, reception and the street of course. very small bathroom and sink (1 bathroom/floor), only cold-water-shower, no luggage locker. there's a wall chart that remembers guests to smile, but the receptionist doesn't smile (I mean the taller one). 10EUR as a deposit for the key :/ When booking, I chose to pay in cash, but I was surprised that my card was charged following booking confirmation. I recommend you guys this hostel only as a last resort. for me I'll skip Amsterdam in this case.

Stayed overnight in Hostel Cosmos in late August 2016. Straightforward, no frills, non-smoking, non-drinking hostel. Late check in available. Easy to get to using directions stated in the website. Very close to the museums and Vondelpark. Plenty of good eateries nearby. The hostel itself has a vending machine for late night snacks and drinks if required. Check in and check out was smooth with no problems.

The rude unprofessional person answered "can i haelp u" as if he was surprised,, i said i have a reservation...he said 1 o'clock! I said can i wait inside , he answered very coldly and rudely NO! Then i said can i even leave my luggage?! Same way NO,,, give me some profanity privileges then i can describe this thing! I didn't even check in and i booked another hotel. Really the worst on the planet... Btw im a pilot and this particular trip was around half Europe...im not a newbie or one inexperienced person , I travelled around the world like 2 times.. There are a few things which I would like to highlight as below: 1) Staff is ok, they try to be helpful, upon request i was allotted a lower bed. (this was mentioned while booking and also I had called 3 days prior to my satay, as I have to take care of my back) 2) There is one common bathroom with toilet on each floor, and NOT in each room. So one bathroom for say about 20 guests or so 3) The bathroom on the 2nd and 3rd floor has a knob which you have to press each time for having a continuous flow of water, I press means about 20 seconds of flow! 4) I wanted to have some hot water and I had to use the vending machine paying 1 Euro, surprisingly the cup was free ;-) 5) There is one plug in each room with an extention wire that you can use to charge you phones/tablets etc.etc, ideally there should be one plug point near each bed. 6) Euro 10 deposit for the key! 7) Bath towel on rent 8) For all the above I have paid Euro 104 for each night. 9) Rooms are really cramped 10) For getting up to the higher bed there are no steps as normally they should have. But fortunately there is a plastic stool (free of cost!)

You don't have to make your sheet for the pillow, bed and blanket, that's the first good point. The pillow is soft and think which is so comfortable. The only bad thing is you have to train to take shower with single hand and in darkness. Because the sensors are less sensible and the tube stops every 10 seconds.

This place is within a couple blocks of Museumplein. There was scaffolding over the front of the building but they posted a sign. Typically steep stairs. You have to rent towels. I'm not sure if it is possible to change out your linens if you need to. There is a shared bathroom on each floor and some rooms have private showers, as we did. The room was quite small. With about two inches between the beds we only had some limited walking room. The bed was strangely lumpy and I fell out of bed one morning. They have signs posted for a cafe nearby that offers breakfast. Some limited non-alcoholic beverages and snacks are available at the front desk but you are not supposed to take them to your room. Construction started early every morning. Jackhammers make great alarm clocks.
