Great location, yummy breakfast and afternoon snacks, lovely rooms. If you have trouble with stairs, this would not be a great place. Even with the elevator each floor has additional stairs. Would definitely stay again!

Helpful attendants at every step. I like the little snacks/ soda and drinks available at any time. It is in a great place just a few minutes walk to all the big museums.

Our stay couldn’t be any better. Our room was spacious, location wonderful and very walkable to great restaurants, sights and shopping and staff was ALWAYS helpful. I would highly recommend and would plan to stay there again.

I recently stayed at Jan Luyken Hotel in Amsterdam and it genuinely exceeded expectations. The location is absolutely perfect—right in the Museum Quarter, just a short walk from the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, and Vondelpark. It made exploring the cultural heart of the city effortless, while still feeling calm and refined compared to the busier central areas. The hotel itself has a boutique, almost members’ club feel. The room was beautifully styled, clean, and very comfortable, with thoughtful details that made it feel both luxurious and homely. One of the standout features was the relaxed communal spaces and all-day refreshments—it’s such a nice touch to be able to grab a coffee or snack whenever you like. It really adds to the overall experience. Service was excellent throughout—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling over the top. If you’re planning a trip to Amsterdam and want to stay somewhere stylish, comfortable, and perfectly located for museums and parks, Jan Luyken is a fantastic choice. I’d definitely stay again.

Beautiful room, comfortable bed, nice staff

Stop scrolling and just book this hotel. It is so wonderful. The property is gorgeous and in the heart of the museum distract. Literally steps away from the Van Gogh, Momo, and Rijk. There was great shopping and restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. There is an above group tram stop steps away. I recommend getting a pass for that during your stay. Also, we were there for christmas and the museum quarter has the best and largest christmas market in town, also steps away! We stayed in the medium room with a balcony. Breakfast was nice and light with amazing juices and they had a mini bar open all day free for guests. We didnt try it but they also have free bike rentals. I cant recommend this hotel enough!

Absolutely wonderful hotel. Nicely decorated with communal areas you actually want to spend time in. Large room in excellent condition. Free alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks 24/7, and high quality snacks served every afternoon. Breakfast of more limited selection but all good quality. Well positioned near the major museums and tram network. A bargain at the price!

When I checked in the staff told me it was a townhouse not a hotel. That was strange. The room was too hot. The breakfast was very limited.
