The Ibis on Hereford St was a great choice for a city centre break. Everything within walking distance supported by excellent public transport. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and comfortable. Mostly quiet except for a couple of loud talkers in the corridor late one night, but it didn't last long.

Excellent location. Close to Bus interchange, so you have short walk to hotel from the bus 29 you can catch from airport, Cathedral square, central city shopping, river bank cafes and market are all very short walk from the hotel. Room is on the small size but beds are comfortable and room is clean. Think that they just need maybe 2 chairs for double room, not one. Christchurch is beautiful, walkable city and we didn't spend much time in the room anyway, so for short stays is perfect.

Bathroom smells like urine.
International guests gathered in the hallway early in the mornings and had loud discussions, definitely has put me off staying again.

I was asked any requests long before check in: room with a mountain view or other and not by elevators.
The view was directly into another building undergoing construction, which in turn will then be looking into someone else's room!!!!

Great location and car parking. good bar and restaurant. We chose to include breakfast with our room and it was well worth it. Wonderful switched on friendly staff. A great stay/experience from booking to check out. Well done Ibis Christchurch.

This hotel is in a great location, near to Cathedral Square and the riverside restaurants. The foyer looks good and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. However, the room was a big let-down. It looked very dated and we were given a room with a disability access bathroom which we didn’t need, which felt clinical. We were only staying for one night which was manageable but, any longer, we would have wanted a change. Disappointing when it had a good first impression.
