We came to Queenstown, my second time but not for years and my hubby and 2 kids first time - we had the BEST time didnt want to leave! Kamana was so beautiful - amazing views, great loca food, and clean comfortable rooms For us, we didn’t mind it being located in Fernhill which is just up and out of the Queenstown centre - as we would walk down to the city centre through the forest every morning and then catch a bus or taxi back up the hill at night - but for those who want quick or flat access to the centre bear jn mind Kamana is located up higher - that’s what gives the spectacular views!!! Nest the restaurant had delicious food - the breakfasts were incredible and we also had the degustation dinner which was fantastic - kids loved it too - only minor suggestions would be that bacon or avo be included as an option for kids eggs in the morning (as it is for the adults) and perhaps some yoghurt alongside the cereal and fruit - but the food offered couldn’t fault it - absolutely LOVED the homemade crumpets with sautéed field mushrooms/spinach and almond ricotta. Ambience was calm, warm and stylish - great architecture and interior design. The focus is on the sensational views. We had 9 and 5 year old boys with us and they loved the hotel also - all the staff were friendly and accommodating. Want to also thabk the cleaning staff as they alway would pop my son’s Mario toy on the bed for him each day ready for his night time sleep - very sweet!

Expected more from this stay. Restaurant serves great food the room is big but there is a construction work ongoing on site. There is no info about that anywhere. The soak experience needs to be booked in advance ideally for each day of the stay (hotel only recommends one booking as the rest can be sorted while there). Otherwise you need to rely on other guests cancellations. There are no outside seatings with the view on the lake.

Average experience. The front desk was not friendly or helpful when needed. I won’t be coming back to this hotel or recommending to anyone for their service. On the other hand the restaurant has a nice view (but small area) the staff were caring and nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable but the view we had was the parking lot… Also there is a construction going on right on the hotel site.

We celebrated an engagement at the Kāmana Lakehouse and honestly it se the tone for our whole trip. It was so lovely to come home to such a cozy and chic hotel. The fires roaring in the lobby, the views from the restaurant, it all made for a very warm experience. The staff were very friendly! We didn’t get to experience the soaking tubs because they were in high demand, so we suggest booking your soaks ahead of time!

This place was really nice and so cozy! The views are excellent. It’s a but further away from the busy area of queenstown so it’s a nice spot for a quieter area. I was so obsessed with the shampoo and conditioner I bought some to take home.

Our room with a lovely Mountain View unfortunately was behind a building site with a huge crane shoring our view. The restaurant meal was underwhelming. We prefer to stay at a hotel closer to the restaurants & shops

I booked this trip for my husband and I along with 4 of our friends. What I didn’t know until the day after we arrived that nearby there was a major construction project underway. There was no mention of it on the Hotels.com website otherwise I would have never booked the rooms there. The hotel did point out that it was posted on their website but shame on me for not checking. Really? Given the expense we were incurring and flying a long distance to arrive there the hotel could have sent us a message beforehand as I was later told the construction had been ongoing since March of 2024. The hotel did let us depart a day early without penalty but really didn’t offer any other form of compensation which was extremely disappointing. When I did speak to the manager, Christine, she did offer to comp dinner for us that night but we were already seated at a local restaurant for dinner while I was speaking to her of the phone. I really felt the manager could have compensated us in some way and even mentioned waving the breakfast charges but she wouldn’t. The hotel was very noisy all day long with constant thumping of the equipment and the dining room windows in view of the construction cranes so they could have done much more to accommodate us for the price we paid. Would never return.

The Kamana is lovely and luxurious. Our room was large and beautifully decorated. We loved the fluffy robes and comfy bed. The lounge is gorgeous and the restaurant has outstanding view of the lake and mountains. We arrived after a backpacking trip and sat in the lounge area (also with great views) for a delicious dinner from a varied menu (great wines too). A huge plus is the complimentary private soaking tub session for guests (be sure to book well in advance). Parking is free. Also, the staff are extremely attentive and helpful. We stored a few bags with them for several days while backpacking and they had moved them into our room before we arrived. There are a few downsides: The location isn't walkable to downtown Queenstown so bring your car. Also, there's a lot of construction going on at their adjacent sister property. It blocked some views (though not the restaurant/lounge), was quite loud during work hours and the equipment, at times, blocked parking access and made driving in/out a challenge. Once that's complete, this will be a five star experience.

We were very friendly with the reception staff and yet they gave us a room with a bad plumbing smell that they had tried to disguise (my wife worked in the hotel business) We asked to be moved and this was done in 10 minutes. De Gustation dinner was amazing as is the view from the restaurant. Our overall impression is that the staff were not empowered by the manager to respond to customer requests without referring to management. At breakfast the waiter said he was “going to check if we were entitled to breakfast” This is not what you expect in a hotel where you are spending over $500 USD.
