This was the best surprise of our fantastic trip in NZ. Little piece of paradise and lovely owners. Definitely a must go and stay if you pass by Lake Wanaka!!

Wanaka Haven is paradise. The owners are so lovely and welcoming and the accommodation is fantastic. I loved my stay and did not want to leave. I would definitely recommend Wanaka Haven.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I booked the Wanaka Haven for our recent trip to New Zealand as we have found that B&B properties can be iffy. The Haven turned out to be the best hotel of our trip. For starters, the grounds are gorgeous, with stunning, with sweeping views of the rugged, snowcapped mountains surrounding Wanaka. The house itself was purpose-built by the owners, with their residence on one side and three guest rooms on the other side. The rooms are large and tastefully decorated in a modern style, notably absent of the frilly dust catchers or tasteless nic-nacs that are so common in U.S. B&Bs. The bathrooms are spacious and very modern and the commons areas attractive and functional. The property included a heated pool. Breakfast, served from 7-9, offered a wide variety of fresh hot and cold selections. The owners, Steve and Anne-Mie, were very friendly and informative while respectful of their guests' privacy. The Haven is located several miles outside of downtown Wanaka, so a car is a necessity. However, the drive to town is only about 5 minutes. Wanaka itself is a lovely town. The setting is every bit as attractive as Queenstown, but the town itself is much less crowded/touristy and therefore more appealing. There are a number of very good restaurants, but be forewarned that the most popular book up during the summer season, so advanced reservations are recommended.

The best place we stayed in NZ. Gorgeous film set location and building. Sadly had to be out early so couldn’t enjoy breakfast but it looked amazing

Amazing B&B, wonderfully decorated, very comfortable, short drive to downtown Wanaka. Breakfast is to die for....they have honeys from the lavender farm down the street. Can’t get any more local than that!

Breakfast was outstanding. It was fun to have the pool to use.

Located just outside the lovely town of Wanaka this is an excellent base to enjoy this part of New Zealand. Owners and hosts Anne-mie and Steven were very helpful and interesting to talk to. Breakfast was excellent and our room had fabulous views on two sides.

Lovely bed and breakfast accommodation 4kms out of town close to the wineries. A good place to stay as Wanaka can be quite touristy. Breakfast cooked while you wait and beautiful rooms with a view and outside seating to just sit, enjoy a wine and soak in the scenery. Friendly helpful owners who fell in love with and migrated to New Zealand. One of the highlights of our accommodation choices.

Top notch retreat, high quality, nice view, scenic town

Nestled in a great spot, a beautiful house with fantastic hosts. Easy access to all the local places you want to be, pure luxury! A must stay.

Comfortable, plush rooms with an inviting lounge and dining room. Outdoor entertaining area with fireplace and pool. Wonderful breakfast in the morning from engaging hosts Anne-Mie and Stephen. Bikes to use on the many walking tracks nearby. Would definitely stay here again.

Wanaka Haven was sensational. It just felt so good to be there. The accommodation was gorgeous, a really beautiful space to spend time in. The hosts were beautiful, incredibly thoughtful of small details and comforts which made this place really stand out. The property is close to town but feels secluded because of the large property surrounded by greenery majestic mountain views beyond that. Cannot wait to stay there again.

Such a peaceful place to stay only a couple minutes from wanaka town central. Hosts are really passionate about what they do and it shows through the way the whole property and rooms are kept. Stunning bathrooms and bedroom layouts. Hosts Steven and Anne-marie went above and beyond for us. Next time we will be spending more time here !

There was nothing about this place we didn't like. The owners are lovely people - very helpful and friendly. The decor and furnishing are top notch. Beautiful bedroom and bathroom come with luscious bedding and towels and immaculately clean. More than enough choice at breakfast. Both continental and hot on offer. We took advantage of the good quality mountain bikes available for use and cycled alongside Lake wanaka. Located about 6kms from town but if you have a car its no hassle at all. Overall we loved our stay and would highly recommend it if visiting Wanaka.
