We had a very relaxing break at the Salthouse. The scenery and hotel are absolutely beautiful! All of staff were very friendly and attentive. We ate in the Look Out on both evenings and my husband and myself agreed that it was the best meal we have eaten in along time! Can’t wait to return!

Good stuff: Lovely staff Spa is class Not overly busy Finishes are brilliant Food was excellent Stunning views Great musician in the new bar on the Saturday night Bad stuff: Cant book through Salthouses website for some reason, keeps looping back to the main page (it needs updated) so we booked through Hotels.com- we had to pay an extra £45 pp for the spa (only open from 3-8pm) this isnt advertised anywhere prior to booking. I was made aware of this before arrival through a 3rd party and tried several times to ring them to discuss this, left 3 voice messages and none were returned. So hotel would need to improve their communication avenues and Hotels.com should be clarifying that spa access isnt included. So marks taken off for both Hotels.com and Salthouse. Worth a visit if there are deals available.

Room was very big and we slept well. The negative would be the poor water pressure in the shower.breakfast good and well presented and cooked fresh. Food in the pasta/pizza restaurant was just ok, I wouldn’t use it again. We will be back to the venue.

We had a very pleasant stay in a classic room. The room was very comfortable, the only drawback being the sound of water discharges from the room above, through adjacent pipework. Dining room and food was excellent. Staff were excellent. Our room had a view over the car park, which was probably one of the better views! The hotel was pleasantly situated close to town with lovely views from the public spaces. Beautiful courtyard area with plenty of outdoor seating. Enjoyed our stay.

The hotel was lovely decor but found that the bed was just made everyday and notice that the bathroom wasn’t clean each day we stayed . The food was ok but wasn’t enough Choice . Breakfast was poor in tact the portions were small . Staff were lovely and very helpful although their uniforms were a bit scruffy looking .

Long queue for check in, very crowded in lobby area so not a great first impression sorry. Room was disappointing, a serene King but quite small with limited space. In such a scenic location to have a view of the construction site from our room was extremely disappointing. Despite having booked dinner 6 weeks in advance they had overbooked the restaurant so tried to seat us in a lounge area. We were only moved to a table in the restaurant after complaining. The staff were exceptional and very attentive. Food was amazing.
