The room was beautiful and modern with a huge window with a lovely view of the city and waterways. The breakfast buffet was excellent! The staff were friendly. I want to mention that the desk chair at the foot of the bed does not push in all the way and the legs slant backwards which impedes the walkway and is a tripping hazard in the dark. I would suggest a different chair or relocate the desk.

We stayed at Scandic Parken for 2 nights with our 18 month old daughter and it was an excellent base to explore Ålesund. Parking was very convenient with a door leading from the car park straight to the hotel elevator. We were able to check in early and the requested cot was already set up in our room. The room was spacious, modern and comfortable with a bath, which is ideal with a little one! Breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice. The hotel is conveniently located for exploring Ålesund. We highly recommend.

Everything was great until a rude female bartender ruined our stay. Since there was no kettle in the room, we went to reception asking for a kettle or some hot water. The receptionist told us to get from the counter opposite to the bar. When we came out, encountered this female bartender who said we should not get the hot water with the porcelain cups there and we explained. She even said loudly in our “class” we didn’t deserve a kettle. What a rude way to treat the customers, she not even know what rooms or suites we stayed in and she was still after us…

Most of the facilities is like other Scandic hotels we stayed at. However, when there’s an advisory for tap water unsafe to drink, there’s no water kettle in the room. In addition, ground floor close to nearby bar and quite noisy into pass midnight.

Loved the property! Our king room on a higher floor had an amazing view of the town and water. View was just as good from our window as it was from that steep hike you can do to overlook the town. Ceiling to floor windows. We left curtains open all night it was so pretty.

Only criticism is parking. Had to parallel park on the hilly streets and move the car by like 7am or pay a lot for hotel lot. But parking in Norway at hotels is expensive and rare

The hotel is centrally located. We stayed there the night before the Geiranger fjord cruise. It was walkable from the hotel to the boat dock. Also, the hotel prepared a breakfast to go because we left before the dining room opened. It was very good service on their part.

If you have an electric car be careful as the parking spaces are limited, the chargers don’t work and the spaces are very narrow
