We had a 4 night stay in Feb 2019 whilst visiting to spectate at the WRC rally Sweden so we are unable to comment much on the local area but did find the nearby town of Skarnes had a good selection of shops .
The hotel owners and staff went out of their way to make us welcome and to meet our needs.
Buffet breakfast had a large and delicious selection of food to suit all taste and needs . On the mornings that we were away early the hotel provided a breakfast sandwich for us to take with us.
The evening meal had a nice selection on the menu, was to a high standard and very good value for money. We ate here in the evenings and would highly recommend it.
The hotel evening ends at around 8 pm which suited us fine as we were away early in the mornings,so if you are looking for night entertainment I guess you would have to travel into Skarnes. This may be different in the summer.
The rooms were clean, warm with comfortable beds and a nice en suite bathroom with under floor heating.
Overall this an exceptionally friendly and welcoming hotel which we felt was excellent value for money

Hadde et utrolig fint opphold. Var der i jobb og hadde med meg ei som er blind. Hun var også veldig fornøyd og ønsker å benytte stedet ved en senere anledning!
Ved utsjekk tar jeg alltid en titt under sengen, for å se at alt er med - der var det ikke så mye som en lodott!!!

God kommunikasjon ifm sein ankomst.
Rommet var romslig og heilt ok.
Lite men ok bad.
Manglet og savnet kjøleskap på rommet, siden rommet mangler airconditioning og var veldig varmt.
Tv festet på vegg, og kan ikkje snus.
Tv volum var innstilt på fullt, så pass på når ein skrur på..
Veldig lytt ut til gang.
Rommet var ikkje ferdig reingjort frå forrige bruker, synlige (og usynlige) spor.
Derfor reagerer eg også negativt på at de skal ha ekstra betalt, for tilsynelatende ekstra rengjøring, ifm at eg har med allergivennlig hund som ikkje røyter, og som ikkje gir dei ekstra jobb.
(Dei har ingen spesielle rutiner etter dyr, berre vanlig vask av det dei ser)
Då burde rommet vært ferdig reingjort før eg kom også.
Men utanom dette, så sov eg godt og det var lettvint å bu der. Ville budd der igjen.

Slobrua Gjestegård har två typer av rum: hotellrum och motellrum. Till skillnad från andra djurvänliga hotell, kunde vi inte bo på hotellrum eftersom vi reste med vår hund och var tvungna att bo i motellrum. Rum och badrum var mycket gamla och smutsiga, lakan på en av sängarna hade inte ändrats och var fulla av hår, kuddarna luktade illa. Badrummets vägg och golv hade mögel och svart svamp. Även om hotellet hävdar att hotellrummen är överkomliga, är priserna mycket höga för deras kvalitet. Hotellpersonalen är mycket snäll och artig, men eftersom antalet anställda är mycket litet är servicen väldigt långsam. Vi bad dem att byta lakan, överdrag och örngott på den andra sängen, men de var för upptagna, vi bad dem att ge oss lakanet att byta, det tog lång tid att få det till oss. Frukostbuffén var acceptabel, bara rätterna som skulle serveras varma var lite kalla.
