Stamsund Hostel

Fantastic place, the owner and his staff were absolutely fantastic, fun to be around, great to talk to, and attentive to anything I needed if I find myself In Lofoten again I will be here

This hostel is in an old fishing house, so it's rustic and old. But it has real character and a beautiful outlook. Nice big deck along the front to sit and watch the aurora from and stars and the great outlook on to the harbour. I stayed in a dorm room, maybe 10 to a room, pretty standard dorm style I guess. 3 or so common areas, lots of cooking utensils and a lovely warm kitchen/dining with a stove burning. Great to have use of bikes and row boat, and saw plenty of guests supping too. On the bus route to/from Leknes but not a lot of buses in September. But at least one in the morning and again in the evening so can travel during the day. 1.5km from the Hurtigurten coastal ferry port. Staff were really lovely.

The room was quite small but the view made up everything else to be honest. It was a cosy to lay down in bed and being able to look outside and see the boats and little houses of the harbours The outside area is lovely to have dinner and meeting people. They have a sauna for a cost which I hadn’t used but it looks amazing and then you can jump in the water right away and have a cold plunge . They do have paddles for free which is great to go around and enjoy some quiet time and seeing more of the harbour. We used to bikes to get to a lake nearby which was very pleasant. The location is great as their is lot of hikes to do around as well and the big plus their is a free parking area. If you need to do groceries , a Joker is situated 2mins walk from the hostel . Very handy . Overall I loved the place for its atmosphere and the things to do around.

It is very clean and the food is great! I stayed two nights and would like to come again!

The place is super charming and clean. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The property is big and with different buildings so you always feel that you have some privacy. They also have cabins which are great if you bring your dog!

Wonderful hostel. We stayed in an 8 person dorm. There were two kitchens, a common room, and a nice patio. There are also Paddleboards, bikes, and rowboats that are free to use. We will come back here!

Oui je voyais l’océan depuis le dortoir, mais ce n’était pas important car on pouvait voir l’océan de partout !!!! Accueil incroyable, simple et rassurant. Tout est beau dans cet Hostel.

Det låg fantastiskt vackert. Fanns en bastutunna vedeldad. Skönt att kunna basta och bada i havet ftån bryggan. Trvligt område och att dela kök med framsmän och Danskar. Nära till bussen. Mycket nöjd

Abordable, sympathique mais il faudrait que l'auberge évite d'afficher ses convictions politiques et sexuelles. Ce n'est pas bien méchant mais c'est inutile.

Génial ! J’ai fait de superbes rencontres, il y a de très belles rando à proximité ainsi que de nombreuses activités disponibles par l’hostel :) J’ai adoré et reviendrai très certainement !

Hit vil jeg tilbake! Supert sted. Backpacking-stil med mye sjarm. Vi fikk et lite rom og det var derfor ikke et alternativ å bruke noe av tiden vår der annet enn til å sove, men stedet hadde koselig felles stue og spiserom og flere grupper utendørs. Dette var derfor ikke noe problem.

After initial shock of seeing 😬the place during the night time and waking up in A really beautiful environment and landscape ☀️🤩. It was an ok Hostel to stay. Teens loved it, girl 6y hated it because it smelled bad (which was true, maybe A bit moldy smell) otherwise liked to play around. To us parents it would of been an amazing place to be in our twenties. 😅

Rummet var väldigt litet och man fick klättra över varandra för att komma fram. Luktade inte fräscht. Fint att sitta på bryggan men vi hade mest regnväder de nätter vi sov där. Trevlig personal.

Superbe environnement, sauna, belle salle commune.

Hôtel qui est plus une pension avec cuisine commune , salle de bain commune . Si vous voulez rencontrer des gens c’est l’idéal . Endroit super beau et calme

Stamsund hostel was the highlight of my trip to Lofoten. This is a truly unique place on like no other (place on earth). You are taken back to an era of true charming Norwegian culture, hygge and conviviality. I say this as a Norwegian having moved abroad. The atmosphere lures of serendipitous discussions with friendly travelers, of all ages and from around the world. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery in a historic building dating back to 1930. No matter the weather conditions, the place and the people keep on giving. You have free access to rowing boats, stand up paddling, fishing gear, bicycles and more. No hassle, just let them know, and off you go. You can also book private free diving (with or without spear fishing), or book the Sauna for the most affordable prices in Lofoten. If it rains, you have a plethora of interesting books, board games, high speed internet (intentionally only in one of the common rooms) and will find yourself cooking and meeting new people (if you want). This place actually originated as a place for fishermen to seek refuge during bad weather, so they are prepared (more than me with my leaky tent). The people working and volunteering at Stamsund are diverse, interesting and extremely helpful. Matias and his partner that owns and run this hidden gem are of the highest caliber and extremely well travelled. Nos dieron una cabaña pequeña bonita pero no nos llegaba la señal de wifi

Wheather was unfortunally very raining and windy. The rooms were could. Only one toilet.

Trevlig stämning. Slitet och skitit kök, mycket litet. Tur att det var sol, annars vet jag inte hur vi skulle ha fått plats att sitta ner och äta middag. Rummet var helt okej. Trevligt bemötande av personalen.
