What Guests Say About Their Stay

My partner and I recently stayed at The Oasis Hotel on a Thursday and Friday night, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The highlight of our stay was definitely the room. It was incredibly spacious—honestly more like a little apartment than a standard hotel room. It was fully equipped with everything we needed to use it as a home base, including a kitchen that allowed us to cook. While the hotel has a bit of a "dated" feel, it didn't take away from the experience at all; in fact, it added a wonderful layer of character and authenticity that made us feel even more connected to the local area. Before booking, I had read a few reviews mentioning noise from the rooftop bar. While we were there during the end of the week, I personally didn’t notice it at all unless I was specifically straining to listen for it. It certainly didn’t impact our comfort in the slightest. What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the staff. We worked primarily with a wonderful lady at the front desk. Even though I don’t speak Spanish and they didn't speak English, we were able to communicate perfectly. They went above and beyond to look after every request we had, ensuring we were well taken care of. Their hospitality and effort to make our stay wonderful were truly impressive. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be returning!

I arrived at 11 PM. The front desk staff was not there. The security guard was running around the hotel trying to locate the worker 15 minutes later he came down. Damn, he tried to charge my credit card again when I had told him I already paid and booked online. The property was nice close to a lot of restaurants. The only thing it was not any hot water

Good location but property is fairly run down in poor condition. Biggest problem is the staff who can not communicate at all in anything other then Spanish which is a big negative if it is trying to grow tourist business. Elevator is over used and very busy with non residents using it to go to rooftop bar that it becomes a big inconvenience for residents trying to go tonthir rooms having to wait for throne for a long time especially at night or late evenings. If one would have an alternate choice of hotels to look into that it worthwhile to check what is out there before booking this hotel since there are so many small boutique hotels in Casco Viejo to look at for foreign tourists.

We had two rooms. One that had a veranda view. A second for the adult kids which did not. The only issue was their room and the rooftop music noise until 330am. Our veranda room was quiet. And for the prices, excellent! But the rooftop is an issue.

The location and room were nice, but the place has bad/minimal staffing that ruined part of my trip. No one was manning the front desk when I arrived and an office behind it was unlocked and unattended. I had a later flight the next day and had hoped to store my luggage, but with the lack of care and staffing, I went to the airport really early and wasted hours I meant to sightsee. It didn't feel safe to leave my bags in that situation. When I mentioned the concern, staff didn't apologize or seem to get the problem. Waited a long time to finally find someone that would help me check in - someone (a waiter from a related restaurant) called cleaning staff to let me in. Locks/safes are a bit complicated, so a tad nerve wracking - since if you run into trouble, you won't find any staff to help you. It's unfortunate - with reliable and reachable staff, this would be a great place (clean, decent price, spacious, good views).

Exceptionally courteous and helpful staff. I don’t recall booking the Royal suite but the room was impressive with a balcony. There are two main negatives. The first is the most idiotic door knob with integrated security keyboard that is extremely difficult to use. I had to ask the receptionist to help me open / close the door to my room on three occasions. The rest of the world uses a simple key card or even a key. The other negative is loud music from the bar/restaurant downstairs which lasted until 2 am on Sunday. Monday night was quieter. In summary, this is a fantastic hotel on the edge of the historic Quarter with beautiful rooms. This would be an excellent option if noise doesn’t bother you.

Sometimes there was water sometimes too hot too cold...no water...etc...frustrating. Continental breakfast doesnt exist and cost minimum $40. Hotel room was very closed in and stagnent air....staff are very friendly and try very hard to accommodate but still hard to enjoy the stay. It is in a very good location if you dont want any sleep
