Arthaus Boutique Hotel

If you are coming to Asuncion, strongly consider staying at the Arthaus Boutique. It's about 5-10 minutes outside of "downtown" Asuncion, but as you'll find, there really isn't much in "downtown" Asuncion. Instead the area around Arthaus is a more upscale area with private homes, and walking distance to two major shopping areas, restaurants, and higher end spots. I highly recommend it over the main city area. Javier the owner speaks perfect English. He was born in the States, I believe. He's tremendously helpful and has great stories. He helped me find someone to drive me around the country and give a private tour (in Spanish) and recommended one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. You're not going to find much tourist infrastructure in Paraguay, so it pays to know someone who can make good recommendations. Javier is that guy. The hotel is a converted house slowly becoming a hotel. Its not overly flashy or fancy, you walk through an outside garden and up a winding staircase to get to your room. Though it provides what you need, is clean, and the internet is good. If you're coming to Paraguay, I'd absolutely recommend staying here. It's worth it simply for the ability to talk with Javier, especially as an English speaker, it will take some of the barrier away from coming to one of the South American countries where English is not often spoken.

The hotel is well located, near shoppings and new area in Asuncion. The owner is always there. I was no lucky with the room assigned, it was the oldest one and the attendant told me he could not change it because the hotel was full during my stay. The staff is very nice, and they told me that other rooms, the new part of the hotel is nice, but I was in the old part, the economic one. May be that was the point.

The personel was all wonderful. They picked me up early in the morning and tooked me back to the airport. The treatment from the moment I was picked up to the last minute was like family. Everyone smile and show happiness in their work and that is a nice feeling.

Nice stay. Great people and hospitality. Room was a bit outdated. Great, safe neighborhood with beautiful homes and close to nice shopping center with good restaurants.

My daughter and I had a very good stay at the ArtHaus hotel. The breakfast and the service was excellent. The rooms were not modern but clean and very typical of Paraguay. It was centrally located and close to shopping mall. The owner, Javier is fluent in English and was very helpful. Overall a good value.

Great staff, great location, great airport shuttle service, great internet! The rooms are a little old but they in the process of updating and expanding.

Even when my stay was short, I've enjoyed to be there. The employees are very friendly and reliable.

Nice furniture, some nice upgrades, bed was not great. For 90 dollars one would expect much more. One thing to be said is owner and staff are exceptionally nice.

Great place to stay. The rooms were comfortable and the service was fantastic. I was allowed to check in early and they drove me to the airport when I was leaving even though I had to arrive at the airport at 5am. Safe and nice neighborhood, close to a big mall. Highly recommended, I would stay here again.

The entire staff from Javier down could not be nicer. Smooth airport pickup and departure. Very comfortable room and great breakfast. We will need to plan more time next visit to enjoy the beautiful pool.

Arthaus is a beautiful home turned into a hotel by a family. It strikes a good balance between a hotel and B&B. The service is impeccable, and location is great - although the hotel itself is in a quiet, safe residential area, it is about 10-minute walking distance from Shopping del Sol and several restaurants and bars with outdoor patio seating. Some rooms (such as Matisse room on the corner) have low ceiling, which wasn't a problem for us (5'4" and 5'9"). However, if you are taller, make sure to request a room with higher ceiling.

This boutique hotel provides you the hospitality that many of the franchise type can't, Javier (owner and manager) work everyday making you feel as you were staying in the house of one of your friends or family, he is always willing to support. Airport pickup is a plus, my flight get late and there was waiting for me one of the driver's from Arthaus. Highly reccomended!

Great hotel to stay at before going to the airport. The bed was quite hard though.

The hotel is an old traditional house in one of the Asuncion best place. It's a place very quite sorrounded by top residence of the town. It's a place close to the main Asuncion shopping centers.

Best part of the hotel is the staffs including the manager / owner willingness to assist & accommodate. They even wash some small items of your laundry for free and return the same day My flight happened to arrive at 4:30 am, one phone call to the hotel & they came picked me up at the airport even gave me a real early check in which is unexpected It gives you the homely hospitality that makes you feel like coming back
