Stayed here on the first night of two separate visits to this hotel. Is a no-frills hotel with good service - see my other review. Both nights were consistent with each other and I would recommend this place again. One more point is there is no lift and breakfast is served on the 5th floor. This said, if you are visiting Cusco and travelling through the Sacred Valley, five flights of stairs should not scare you off from this place!

Stayed at this hotel two separate nights at the start and end of a trip through the Sacred Valley. The hotel is no-frills, clean with comfortable beds. It is located within a 10 minute walk to the train station which was great for the early morning Peru Rail train. Also, for a no-frills hotel the buffet breakfast was terrific, with good start & finish times and four options from a menu as well. At time of my stay there was free shuttle to the airport which was a nice touch as well.

Very plain basic hotel that's kind of hard to find.. only a single door along a busy street, but it leads down a hallway to a surprisingly nice little hotel. My bus (coming back from Machu Picchu) was running late so I called to tell them it would be shortly after midnight before I arrived and they said no problem they'd be there waiting on me and thanks for calling! Room is very basic but exceptionally clean. Shower had good hot water and plenty of fresh towels. My only complaint is the walls were quite thin making it difficult to sleep once people were up and about elsewhere in the hotel. Overall I booked the hotel based on Expedia reviews and just taking a chance and it worked out quite well!. Definite recommend.

Great breakfast with a view of Cusco from 5th floor, room was simple, comfortable and quiet (except for a a guest who decided to roll their luggage down the tiled hallway floor at 3am!!). Our room was tiled, so pack your slippers or warm socks if you get cold feet! 15min drive to airport (taxi included in our room price), friendly and helpful bilingual staff. 15min walking distance to main square of Cusco. Expedia listing said there was a bathtub, however we did not have one in our room on the third floor. Shower pressure not great and the wifi cut in and out - I was able to access on my android, however my partner could not accces on his iphone.

Casa Real is more of a upscale hostel than a hotel. If you come prepared for that it is pretty nice, and the staff are very helpful. There is no longer an entry facade for this "Hotel" Entry is through a steel exterior door and interior security gate down what appears to have been a service entry to the basement. It is directly behind a bus stop on a busy street. It has no curb appeal. The website for this hotel showed nice rooms and they were nice. Mattresses a little thin/firm but nice and overall very clean. The website also showed a restaurant which is no longer there (torn down to make more rooms). Hotel has no elevator. We were on the fourth floor. Elevation at Cuzco is enough that oxygen is available in the lobby so climbing stairs with luggage is a challenge. Hotel is convenient to the central part of town, but that also meant that there was significant street noise until about 2 A.M. The staff was very helpful and pleasant.

When we checked in, they gave us a bad exchange rate, but we didn't complain because they didn't charge us for the extra person in the room. After we put our luggage away and were ready to set out to enjoy the city, they hotel administrator (his title), told us they had accidentally checked us into the wrong room. OK, mistakes happen. When they moved us to the new room, there was already luggage in that room. Finally they moved us into a room that seemed to actually be vacant, but left one of our suitcases in the first-occupied room. When we complained and asked for some consideration on the room fee in because of the inconvenience and waste of time, the administrator immediately became defensive and denied any responsibility, blaming the bell-person for grabbing the wrong key. Clearly this was not true, because in the overly-long check in process, it was the administrator's assistant who assigned the room and gave the key to us. At that point, the administrator's assistant joined the conversation in a very rude manor. Rather than continue, we told them we would let the on-line community know what happened, The administrator told us that that is our right. Later when we returned for the evening, they let us know they had made a billing mistake by not charging for the extra person. They told us they would not add that charge, but would renege on their promise to taxi us to the airport the next morning. (We had already paid for two taxi rides).

The hotel was nice and warm with good hot water and was definitely clean. Thanks front entrance is a bit hidden with just a single opaque door leading back to the hotel, but it's right where Google maps says ;) the hotel was nice and warm which is important in Cusco because it can get very cold at night, and the water was good and hot which is another issue in Cusco. There aren't elevators so you have to climb quite a few sets of stairs if you are on the upper rooms, but it helped us prepare for the mountain hiking. It's also a little far from Plaza de Armas, about a 10 minutes brisk walk, but it's a really comfy warm stay.

Our stay here has me of mixed opinion as there is both good and bad. The Good: 1) Away from touristy areas which makes you explore other restaurants/markets/shops which come at a much lower price. 2) Decent price but you get what you pay for The Bad: 1) No safe in room. 2) If you are English speaking, there is not always someone at the desk that speaks English well or at all. Other places we stayed at in the area had fluent English staff available 24/7. 3) Noisy rooms as you hear outside noises, noises above and below you, road noise, etc.
