How to Get to Panglao, Panglao Island from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For most travelers coming from Manila and other major Philippine cities, flying is the most efficient way to reach Panglao, Bohol. The primary gateway is the Bohol Panglao International Airport (TAG). Several airlines operate daily flights from Manila (MNL) to TAG. Flight durations are typically around 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Airfare prices can fluctuate significantly based on the season and how far in advance you book. During promotional periods, you might find tickets for as low as PHP 2,000 to PHP 3,000 for a round trip. However, during peak travel times or if booked last minute, expect fares to range from PHP 4,000 to PHP 7,000 or more. It is always wise to book flight tickets early to secure better rates.

While flying is the quickest, other options exist for the more adventurous or budget-conscious traveler. Ferries operate from Cebu to Tagbilaran City (Bohol's capital), followed by a land transfer to Panglao. This journey is considerably longer, taking several hours, and bus travel from various points in Luzon to Batangas port, then ferry to Visayas, and finally another ferry to Bohol is also an option, though extremely time-consuming.

Pros: We are the only guest that time and so the staff upgraded our room from fan room to an air-conditioning room. Staff are very accommodating! They have provided all our needs/requests. The room has a mini living room with couches and is clean. Cons: It is far from Alona beach. You need to take a habal-habal to get there, like 5-10 minutes drive. You can ask the staff to bring you to Alona beach. The cost is 30/pax. No nearby restaurants so better to bring food when you get to the hotel. They serve breakfast - just breakfast - silogs.
