Acl was wonderful, they accommodated us in every way even before we arrived. They allowed my fiancé to check in early without me as i was arriving later that evening. Every small problem we had was instantly taken care of. The room all though not like an american room was excellent for the price. Not a single complaint here.

Your Travel Guide to Quezon City as a Filipino Traveler

Quezon City, a major hub within Metro Manila, is readily accessible for Filipino travelers from all corners of the archipelago. If you're coming from Manila itself, driving is a common option, with major thoroughfares like EDSA and Aurora Boulevard providing direct routes. For those arriving from further afield, such as Cebu or Davao, flying into Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is the most efficient method.

From NAIA, you can take a taxi, a ride-sharing service, or the airport bus to reach Quezon City. A taxi or ride-sharing service might cost approximately PHP 400-700, with travel times varying significantly based on traffic, often between 45 minutes to over an hour. Consider using Traveloka to book flight tickets in advance to secure better rates.

For travelers coming from other parts of Luzon, or even from Visayas and Mindanao via land travel, bus terminals in Cubao are a primary entry point. Major bus companies operate routes to Quezon City from various provinces. For example, a bus trip from Baguio might take around 4-5 hours and cost approximately PHP 500-700. From as far as Davao, a bus journey would be considerably longer, spanning over 20 hours and costing around PHP 1,500-2,500.

These bus terminals are conveniently located within Quezon City, making onward travel to your accommodation straightforward.

Driving to Quezon City from other regions in Luzon involves utilizing the country's highway network. For instance, from Northern Luzon, you would typically take the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and then connect to EDSA or other city roads. From Southern Luzon, the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) would be your entry point, eventually leading to routes that connect to Quezon City.

Toll fees can add up, and travel times can range from a few hours to over half a day depending on your starting point. Planning your route and factoring in potential traffic is essential for a smooth road trip.

Best Time to Visit Quezon City

Quezon City experiences a tropical climate, characterized by two main seasons: the dry season from November to April, and the wet season from May to October. For many Filipino travelers, the dry season, particularly from November to February, is often considered the most pleasant time to visit. During these months, the weather is generally cooler and less humid, with lower chances of heavy rainfall.

This makes it ideal for outdoor activities, exploring the city on foot, and enjoying the numerous festivals and events that often take place during the holiday season.

The wet season, from May to October, brings with it higher temperatures and humidity, along with frequent rain showers, which can sometimes be heavy and prolonged. While this period might deter some from outdoor exploration, it also offers advantages. The crowds tend to be smaller, and accommodation prices might be more affordable, making it a good option for budget-conscious travelers or those who prefer a more relaxed pace.

Despite the rain, many of Quezon City's attractions, especially indoor ones like malls and museums, remain accessible and enjoyable.

For a balanced experience, the shoulder months of November and February can be particularly appealing. You can often enjoy favorable weather without the peak crowds of December and January. Regardless of when you choose to visit, Quezon City offers a dynamic urban experience year-round, with plenty to see and do for every type of traveler.

Food and Dining Near Quezon City — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

Quezon City is a culinary playground for any Filipino traveler, offering a spectrum of flavors that represent the diverse tastes of the Philippines. A dish that is a staple and a source of national pride is **Adobo**. Whether it's chicken, pork, or a combination, the savory and slightly tangy sauce, simmered with soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and peppercorns, is a comforting classic. In Quezon City, you can find excellent versions in traditional Filipino restaurants, often served with steaming white rice.

Look for places that offer a slightly different twist, perhaps with added ingredients like hard-boiled eggs or potatoes.

Another must-try is **Sinigang**, a sour and savory soup that is a beloved comfort food. The sourness typically comes from tamarind, but other fruits like guava or calamansi can also be used, depending on the region and the cook's preference. Whether it's pork, beef, fish, or shrimp sinigang, the broth is rich with vegetables like kangkong, radish, and tomatoes. It’s the perfect dish to warm you up or to enjoy on a rainy day.

Many local eateries and carinderias in Quezon City serve hearty bowls of sinigang that are both delicious and affordable.

For those with a penchant for grilled delights, **Inihaw na Liempo** (grilled pork belly) is an absolute treat. Marinated to perfection and grilled over charcoal until slightly charred and wonderfully tender, it’s often served with a dipping sauce of soy sauce, vinegar, and chili. The smoky aroma and the rich, fatty flavor of the pork belly make it incredibly satisfying.

You'll find popular spots for inihaw in various food markets and specialized restaurants throughout Quezon City, offering an authentic taste of Filipino barbecue culture.

No culinary exploration of the Philippines is complete without sampling **Lumpia**. These spring rolls come in various forms, from fresh (lumpiang sariwa) with a sweet peanut sauce to fried (lumpiang shanghai) which are small, crispy, and often filled with minced meat and vegetables. The fried version is particularly popular as a snack or appetizer. Many restaurants and street food vendors in Quezon City offer delicious lumpia, perfect for a quick bite or as part of a larger meal.

Finally, for dessert or a sweet snack, try **Halo-Halo**. This iconic Filipino dessert is a delightful concoction of shaved ice, milk, sweet beans, fruits, jellies, leche flan, and ube ice cream. It’s a refreshing and visually appealing treat that perfectly caps off any Filipino meal. You can find numerous places offering halo-halo, from fast-food chains to dedicated dessert shops, each with its own unique blend of ingredients. Exploring these culinary offerings will give you a true taste of the Philippines.

1. Room floor was still soapy causing it to be slippery;no room slippers provided 2. Not worth the money 3. The room is not comfortable it seems like staying for a none star hotel 4. Breakfast was not good. 5. Utensils are so greasy. 6. Extra payment for wifi in your room which should not be like it because wifi is like a necessity the only good thing to say about the hotel are the employees. They are accommodating. But we didn’t stay for them we stayed for the room and services provided and it is so disappointing.

It’s not that bad, just the kitchen crew not smiling when we’re about to get and eat our breakfast. Also, I felt that there is something else beside me and my partner inside the room. Well, I can tell because I felt it especially when I was left alone in the room. There is no bidet and there is no rag outside the bathroom where you can wipe your feet. I hope they provide buffet breakfast instead of being plated. The accommodation price is the same as Eurotel so why not do a buffet breakfast.

Budget friendly, we enjoy the breakfast though its plated (Pancake and bacon is awesome! Lomi is a must try on their menu).

My second time to stay here and it was still a great experience. Room is clean with free toiletries. Hot water was good. Staff were all polite and helpful. The complimentary breakfast is good. Will come back if ever I have business in Cubao area. It is good to note that they don't have free WiFi in their room, you have to pay for it. Thankfully, my mobile data was working fine in the 5th floor. Also, a bidet in the toilet would be great add-on. Over-all, still a great stay.

Our stay was okay. The room given to us was small. Though the room was clean. Their food was okay, nothing special. We actually even found a strand of hair in my partner's rice. But their staff were accommodating.

We woke up at the middle of our sleep when we noticed that air conditioning is not working. It took them 2 hours to decide if we will transfer to another room.
