What Guests Say About Their Stay

My sister and I were very impressed with this place. The host was terrific; she had us load our luggage onto a lift while we took the stairs. I was relieved we didn’t have to carry our luggage that far. Yes, it was warm when we first entered the room, but the air conditioning in the bedroom cooled it down quickly. The place was spotless, and I have never seen sheets so white in my life. It was remarkable because it is an older building that is well-maintained. My only complaint is that the bed was a little too hard for my liking, but after a flight lasting over 11 hours, it felt good enough. The cool water in the shower was amazing, too. We initially planned to stay the entire night since our plane didn’t leave until later, but our departure time changed, and we couldn't stay until morning. Unfortunately, one of the feet on my suitcase broke off, leaving the screw exposed, which ended up cutting the top sheet. I felt bad about this, and when we went downstairs, I offered to pay for the damage. The host was very understanding and didn’t give me a hard time about it. One of the reasons I chose this place is its proximity to the airport, and they offer a shuttle service. However, when we needed to return, the shuttle wasn't operating. The host kindly called a cab for us and directed them to our location. She was truly fantastic, and I will always remember her. If we return to this area, I will definitely book another room with them.

The property sits in a quiet area, has functional units that are great when you are transitioning to or from the Airport. No Luxury here just a good place for a stayover and Fly Out. If your Flight In arrives early morning, and you need to CHECK IN early after 25plus Hours flying, be ready to spend extra $$ as they charge for early check In (90.00PHP PER HOUR) **READ, read, read the print so you are Not surprised. Overall a likeable place with fair rates for the Traveler.

Your Travel Guide to Pasay as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Pasay from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For convenient booking, book flight tickets through Traveloka and compare fares across major airlines.

For travelers coming from other parts of the Philippines, flying into Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is the most common and efficient method. Pasay City is home to NAIA, making it the primary entry point for many. Flights from major cities like Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, and Cagayan de Oro arrive regularly. You can often find competitive fares by booking flight tickets in advance, especially if you are flexible with your travel dates. Expect flight durations to range from one to two hours depending on your origin city.

If you are traveling from nearby provinces in Luzon, bus travel is a viable and often more economical option. Numerous bus companies operate routes to Metro Manila, with terminals strategically located throughout the capital region. From these terminals, you can take a taxi, ride-sharing service, or local public transport like jeepneys and buses to reach Pasay. Bus fares can vary significantly based on the distance and the bus company, typically ranging from PHP 500 to PHP 1,500 for longer provincial routes.

For those driving their own vehicles, Pasay is accessible via major expressways and road networks. The South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and the Metro Manila Skyway are key routes for those coming from the south, while the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) connects from the north, linking to the Skyway. Be prepared for potential toll fees and traffic, which can be substantial, especially during peak hours. Planning your route using a GPS application is highly recommended.

Best Time to Visit Pasay

The Philippines experiences a tropical climate, and Pasay is no exception. The best time to visit generally falls within the dry season, which typically runs from November to April. During these months, you can expect less rainfall and more sunshine, making it ideal for exploring outdoor attractions and enjoying the city's offerings. Temperatures are warm, averaging around 28-32 degrees Celsius, so light clothing is recommended.

The period from December to February is often considered the most pleasant, with slightly cooler temperatures and lower humidity compared to the hotter months of March to May. This is also considered peak tourist season, so expect larger crowds and potentially higher prices for accommodations and flights. If you prefer fewer crowds and potentially better deals, consider visiting during the shoulder months of November or late April.

The wet season, from May to October, brings with it higher humidity and the possibility of frequent rain showers, sometimes heavy. While this period might deter some tourists, it can also offer a more relaxed atmosphere and lower travel costs. If your travel plans fall within these months, it's wise to pack an umbrella or raincoat and be prepared for potential disruptions to outdoor activities. However, many indoor attractions remain unaffected.

Food and Dining Near Pasay — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

Pasay and the wider Metro Manila area offer a culinary landscape that reflects the Philippines' diverse flavors. A must-try is **Adobo**, the unofficial national dish. Whether it's chicken or pork, slow-cooked in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and peppercorns, its savory and tangy profile is deeply satisfying. You'll find excellent versions in local eateries and even in more upscale restaurants around Pasay.

Another Filipino favorite is **Sinigang**, a sour soup that comes in various forms, most commonly with tamarind broth. It's typically made with pork, beef, fish, or shrimp, along with an assortment of vegetables like kangkong, radish, and tomatoes. The comforting, tangy broth is perfect for a hearty meal, especially on a cooler evening or after a long day.

For those who enjoy grilled specialties, **Inihaw na Liempo** (grilled pork belly) is a popular choice. Marinated and grilled to perfection, the crispy edges and tender meat are often served with a side of soy-vinegar dipping sauce. It’s a staple at Filipino gatherings and a delicious option for a casual meal.

Don't leave Pasay without trying **Halo-Halo**, the ultimate Filipino dessert. This refreshing concoction is a delightful mix of shaved ice, milk, sweet beans, fruits, jellies, leche flan, and ube ice cream. It’s a perfect way to cool down and indulge your sweet tooth, offering a burst of flavors and textures in every spoonful.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for Pasay

Filipino culture is known for its warmth and hospitality. When interacting with locals in Pasay, a friendly demeanor and a smile go a long way. It's customary to show respect to elders, and using terms like "po" and "opo" when speaking to them is a sign of politeness. While generally a safe city, it's always wise to be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas like markets or public transport.

When it comes to safety, it's advisable to keep your valuables secure and be mindful of pickpockets, particularly in busy tourist spots and transportation hubs. Avoid displaying expensive items openly. If you encounter any issues, local authorities can be reached through emergency hotlines. It's also a good practice to have the hotel's contact information readily accessible.

For navigating Pasay and Metro Manila, several apps can be incredibly useful. Ride-sharing apps like Grab are essential for convenient and relatively affordable transportation around the city. Google Maps is indispensable for navigation, providing directions for driving, walking, and public transport. For staying updated on local news and events, consider downloading a reputable Philippine news app. Lastly, a currency converter app can be helpful for managing your budget.

Understanding basic Filipino phrases can also enhance your experience. While English is widely spoken, knowing a few words like "Salamat" (Thank you) and "Magandang araw" (Good day) is always appreciated by locals and can foster more positive interactions during your stay.

Room was well kept. Some of the tile work in the bathroom and bedroom was broken. This hotel is in a residential neighborhood lots of people tight spaces and kids running around but the hotel itself felt clean and safe and the from desk staff were friendly and helpful.

My sister and I were very impressed with this place. The host was terrific; she had us load our luggage onto a lift while we took the stairs.

Close to terminal 1, quick check-in, room was clean but fixtures were old, air conditioning in bedroom worked fine and blocked out neighborhood noises. Funky neighborhood, not for everyone.

AC was not very affective, TV had 2 channels. Room was great size and clean. Shower was small but good. Extra $ for airport shuttle. Access to facility was difficult because of local school.

STAY AWAY. Property is located in a slum community. Looks unsafe. I booked a room with breakfast and 2-way airport transfer. I contacted the property with details of my request for transfer but got no reply and therefore was not picked up. When I talked to the staff, they told me that I should have called. I saw on their computer that they received my message. When I asked fro breakfast they told me it’s not included. Showed my Expedia booking but they said Expedia is at fault for false advertising. They did not even provided toilet paper nor soaps.
