Great place to unwind. Our check in was supposed to be at 3 PM but they allowed us to check in at 2 PM. The room was clean and comfortable. I love that it's not a big scale hotel because you'll have the feel that it's a private resort. I love everything about Las Ventanas. Cheers!

Public displays of affection are generally more reserved compared to Western norms.

When visiting landmarks like Casa Pascuala or Keni Po, it's important to be mindful of local customs. Dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites, which often means covering shoulders and knees. In case of emergencies, the local police can be reached at [insert local emergency number if available, otherwise use national]. For medical assistance, inquire with your hotel about the nearest reputable clinic or hospital. It is always recommended for Filipino travellers to have their PhilHealth information readily accessible. For international visitors, ensuring you have adequate travel insurance that covers medical emergencies is crucial. Confirming the latest travel advisories from the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is also a prudent step before your trip.

Travel Guide

Getting to Tagaytay City Proper and Getting Around

Reaching Tagaytay City Proper from major Philippine hubs is a straightforward journey, primarily facilitated by air travel to nearby international airports. Most international visitors will fly into Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila (MNL), which serves as the primary gateway. From NAIA, Tagaytay City Proper is approximately a 2-3 hour drive, depending on traffic conditions. Direct flights from Cebu (CEB) or other domestic airports are also available, connecting travellers to Manila for onward travel.

Once you arrive at NAIA, several options exist to reach Tagaytay City Proper. The most convenient is a pre-booked airport transfer or a taxi, which can cost between ₱ 3,000-5,000 (approximately $60-100 USD). Alternatively, you can take a bus from one of Manila's major bus terminals (like Pasay or Cubao) directly to Tagaytay City Proper, a more budget-friendly option costing around ₱ 200-300 (approximately $4-6 USD). Booking your book flight to Manila is the first step in planning your trip.

Navigating Tagaytay City Proper itself is relatively easy, with a mix of public and private transportation. Jeepneys are the most common and affordable mode of transport, serving various routes throughout the city and its surrounding areas. Tricycles are ideal for shorter distances within neighbourhoods. Taxis and ride-hailing services like Grab are also readily available, offering a more comfortable and direct way to get around, especially for those carrying luggage or travelling in small groups.

The shoulder months of November and February can offer a good balance of favourable weather and fewer crowds. While the rainy season (May to October) sees fewer tourists and potentially lower hotel prices, be prepared for occasional downpours and cooler, misty conditions.

Before your trip to Tagaytay City Proper, ensure you have Philippine Pesos (PHP) for smaller purchases and local transport, though major establishments accept credit cards. Purchasing a local SIM card at the airport is recommended for easy data access and communication. Essential apps include Google Maps for navigation, Grab for transport, and a translation app if needed. While not strictly required for short stays, having a printed copy of your hotel booking and return flight details can be helpful.
