Firstly I booked the hotel through booking.com, my credit card was approved then within minutes of my booking I received an email from Asia Grand View requesting that I send my credit card details by fax, needless to say I didn't send them and told them if they wished to cancel my booking to go ahead and do so, after 3 or 4 emails back and forth they eventually accepted that my booking was confirmed, bad start!!!
I had requested an airport pick up for myself and my partner, we arrived in a torrential downpour which made things a little messy, we were put into a minivan, just about to leave the airport then told that we had to transfer to another minivan, the minivan we transferred to was already full to capacity, with another 2 passengers it was absolutely dangerous to make the journey but the driver was in no mood to listen so we continued anyway.
The room was just ok, i had requested a King size bed and was given 2 single beds pushed together, no great drama. No complementary bottled water is provided which is very strange in such a hot environment
The resort clearly specifies that WiFi is available in public areas which is completely untrue, at least 4 staff gave 4 different reasons/excuses why we were unable to get a connection, in this day and age where people are very much reliable on a decent internet connection I find it unacceptable that a resort which clearly advertises the fact that it provides WiFi when in fact it does not, it's misleading and deceitful.
Breakfast in a mish mash of everything, Filipino dishes, fruit, breads and a few hot dishes but all in all it was very much below average.
The security guard at the front of the hotel was extremely rude to my partner, he spoke in a very disrespectful manner in Tagalog, my partner was clearly upset by this and I immediately asked to see the manager or the supervisor on duty but like always the staff made excuses that nobody was available to address my complaint, I again asked the next day only to be told that the manager was off on that day, horrendous to say the least.
All in all this place is poor from start to finish, I absolutely love the Philippines and it's people and Coron is a wonderful part of the world but this hotel has serious service issues that need addressing rapidly.
My advice, avoid Asia Grand View at all costs...
