Good place to stay. Although the building is old, the room is clean. It is a no frills hotel but definitely good value for the money. The staff are really helpful and friendly. It is walking distance to SM North EDSA and incredibly conveniently located to everything.

Staff was very polite and accomodating. Great location, near Manila's largest shopping mall. Every possible shop and food sevice available at the mall. Movies, gym and health clinic located at the mall as well. Grocery store with pharmacy nearby, too. Seven-Eleven convenience store right next door. Breakfast served at guest's convenience. At $40 US dollars per night, it was a rare bargain. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

How to Get to Quezon City from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For travelers coming from other parts of the Philippines, flying into Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila is the most common method. Major airlines like Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and AirAsia operate frequent flights to Manila from various provincial capitals. You can easily book flight tickets on Traveloka, with fares typically ranging from PHP 2,000 to PHP 6,000 for a round trip, depending on the origin and booking time. Travel time from NAIA to Quezon City can vary significantly due to traffic, usually taking 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.

If you are traveling from nearby provinces in Luzon, taking a bus is a more economical option. Major bus terminals in Metro Manila, such as Cubao and Pasay, serve routes to Quezon City. Companies like Victory Liner and Genesis Transport operate regularly. Bus fares generally range from PHP 400 to PHP 800 for a one-way trip, depending on the distance. The journey can take anywhere from 4 to 8 hours, depending on your starting point and traffic conditions.

For those driving from Northern Luzon, the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) is the primary route. From NLEX, you can transition to EDSA or other local roads leading to Quezon City. Toll fees can add up, typically ranging from PHP 300 to PHP 600 for a round trip, depending on your vehicle and exact route.

Best Time to Visit Quezon City

Quezon City experiences a tropical climate, with two main seasons: the dry season from November to April and the wet season from May to October. The coolest months are typically December and January, with average temperatures around 27°C, making it a pleasant time for outdoor activities. The hottest months are usually April and May, with temperatures soaring to 35°C or higher. For many Filipino travelers, the dry season, particularly from November to February, is considered ideal due to lower humidity and less rainfall.

The wet season, while bringing occasional heavy downpours, can also offer a different charm. Prices for accommodation and flights might be slightly lower during this period, making it a good time for budget-conscious travelers. However, it's essential to be prepared for potential disruptions due to heavy rain, such as traffic congestion or localized flooding. Regardless of the season, Quezon City is a year-round destination, offering a mix of indoor and outdoor activities that can be enjoyed at any time.

Food and Dining Near Quezon City — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

Quezon City is a culinary melting pot, offering a wide array of Filipino dishes that showcase the country's diverse flavors. One dish you absolutely must try is **Adobo**, the unofficial national dish, featuring meat (usually chicken or pork) braised in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and peppercorns. Its savory and tangy profile is a staple in Filipino households and restaurants alike. You can find excellent versions in local eateries and even in some hotel restaurants.

Another must-try is **Sinigang**, a sour and savory soup, typically made with tamarind broth, meat (pork, beef, or fish), and a variety of vegetables like kangkong, radish, and tomatoes. The sourness is incredibly refreshing, especially on a warm day. For a taste of comfort food, **Kare-Kare** is a rich oxtail stew in a thick peanut sauce, usually served with bagoong (shrimp paste) on the side. The combination of tender meat and savory sauce is deeply satisfying.

Don't leave Quezon City without sampling **Lechon**, a whole roasted pig known for its crispy skin and succulent meat. While a whole lechon is often for celebrations, many restaurants offer lechon kawali (deep-fried pork belly) or lechon paksiw (lechon simmered in a sweet and sour sauce) as more accessible options. For dessert, try **Halo-Halo**, a popular Filipino mixed-dessert made with shaved ice, milk, sweet beans, fruits, jellies, and topped with leche flan and ube ice cream. It's a perfect treat to cool down.

For authentic Filipino dining experiences near Axiaa Hotel, explore the numerous carinderias (local eateries) and restaurants scattered throughout Quezon City. Areas like Tomas Morato and Timog Avenue are known for their diverse culinary scenes, offering everything from traditional Filipino fare to modern fusion cuisine. Exploring these areas will allow you to discover hidden culinary gems and enjoy the true taste of the Philippines.

Queuing is generally observed, and patience is appreciated, especially in crowded places. Understanding these basic customs will enhance your interactions and overall experience.

When it comes to safety in Quezon City, like any major urban center, it's wise to be aware of your surroundings. Keep your valuables secure and avoid displaying expensive items openly. Stick to well-lit and populated areas, especially at night. For transportation, it's advisable to use reputable taxi services or ride-sharing apps. In case of emergencies, the national emergency hotline is 911. Having the local police hotline number for Quezon City can also be beneficial.

Only good thing about it was the location. Seems like it was more of a motel than a hotel. It was such a let down.

The hotel was pretty new. We enjoyed our stay because the facilities were all okay. The room was big enough and the comfort room was okay. I loved the shower which was like raindrops but the drainage was kind of clogged. The staffs were approachable and always willing to help. I recommend Axiaa Hotel and would love to stay here again. PS: The cheesecake they're selling in the lobby did not taste good for me. It's not real cheesecake.

Ambiance is suffocating. Hallways are too dark. There's no window in the room.

Only good thing about it was the location. Seems like it was more of a motel than a hotel. It was such a let down.

Friendly staff, new and comfy room amenities. Need to improve parking lot and add slots. They really don't have much parking spaces which is quite a hassle.

People there are incompetent. they don't expect late check-in we need to wait 45mins to clean the room 😭 actually this is in our least in hotel choice due to our bad experience before that someone open our door while we are sleeping inside but since we don't have a choice because go hotel which nearby are fully booked. We will never book here again. Never !

The place is strategically located. The only problem is no permanent resto for breakfast.

No cable TV. Shower area floods. Good food however I was expecting a buffet set up :) Not eco friendly, their kit has a lot of packaging.
