No hot showers, no clothes hanging/hooks, no fridges, no Smart telephone coverage. WiFi was slow. Nice outdoor dining area (only breakfast available), Quiet & peaceful, Clean/well maintained pools, Friendly helpful staff/owner. Lots of homemade produce for sale. Simple Accom away from the hustle bustle. I will return. Thanks Zeny.

Mom and Pop establishment
Mom-and-pop operation, out of the way, no kitchen so no food, 5 km from town center. We booked through Agoda Phl and this is not the first time I found myself in a dump in the middle if nowhere. The map location was wrong and many claimed amenities did not exists. No wifi, no hot water, etc. We booked for 2 nights, stayed for 1.

Our Stay in Baler
Azbahaen is quite far from the main town of Baler. Maybe around 15 minutes or less to get there. But it took us more than that because we always get lost on going back. Thanks to our unreliable GPS. Anyway, the resort is really simple. Nothing spectacular. But their customer service is top notch. We really felt at home there. The people there are friendly and very accomodating. They even advice us on which places to go. They also serve breakfast with black organic rice which is healthy. The food is ok. Another thing was when we went there, we were the only guests. So we have the whole resort as our own.

Simplicity at its finest
Very few people go to Baler and stay away from the beach front. I guess when people think of Baler, they think of Sabang Beach and they would make an effort to choose a hotel where Sabang is a stone's throw away. However, when peak seasons happen and most hotels by the beach are already filled up, you would now be given an option to choose a hotel/resort by the countryside. Azbahaen is one example of this resort. Of course, each one of us has a preference in what kind of accommodation we want whenever we go out of town. There are people who drive away from the city because they want to escape the hustle-and-bustle of the urban life and would opt to stay in a place where there is mostly peace and quiet with little distraction of any sort - if this is what you're looking for when you go out of town then Azbahaen is a resort you might want to stay in. Azbahaen is a simple countryside resort where once you enter, you will be surrounded by a garden and a small river behind the resort (I'm not sure if it is a river, but there is a small body of water behind it). You could say that it has a homey feel to it, where the staff are very friendly and accommodating and would talk to you like you're part of family. We stayed in an air conditioned room, the doors of these rooms face the mentioned small river. Their rooms are very simple, it has one queen/full size bed, there's TV (for movies only, there is a flashdrive attached to the TV - no TV signal) and their bathroom is average. Our room even did not have a bathroom mirror. The drive to Sabang Beach is about 10-15minutes, so it's not so bad. Make sure you know how to get there because if you rely on GPS, you might lose your way. Because of weak/poor network reception, GPS does not work so well in that area. Azbahaen usually closes their resort gates at 6pm but they leave it unlocked. When you leave for Baler downtown (or Sabang) in the evening and return, all you have to do is open it when you get there. They serve breakfast and they serve it with style. They offer you black glutinous rice (instead of the regular white rice) with the usual breakfast fare. They usually don't serve huge portions so you might need to have a snack later if it doesn't satisfy you. However, they do serve good tasty breakfast. Other than that, they don't serve lunch, snack nor dinner so you will really have to go outside for these meals. They do have drinks though. One of the things that they offer, though, is their Bignay Vinegar and their Bignay red wine. I have tried their vinegar and I'd have to say it's good. If you stay in Azbahaen, please don't forget to try their vinegar. Bring some home too, there's nothing like that in the city. All in all, Azbahaen is a good enough place to stay if you're looking for peace and simplicity. If you have kids, they will definitely enjoy the swimming pool and even maybe playing with the pups and dogs owned by the resort. It has a homey feel to it and so it's one of the things that this resort has to offer that you may enjoy.

Very relaxing
Me and my girlfriend really enjoyed our stay in this resort, the staff are very hospitable and polite and they let us check in early without any additional charge, how great is that right, hehe the ambiance of the area is very relaxing and quite its very naturey hehe. The breakfast are great, the only thing is, its far from the town proper however the staff are always there and will help you to get a service(Tricycle) going to wherever your heart desire hehe i will definitely come back in this resort for my future booking in baler. All in all, very much satisfied
