The front desk doesn't have a good service and the guards are very much disrespectful to their customers. We stayed there for 2 nights last October, 30th this year 2017. Our stay is not good poor service.

Resort was clean. Good thing I called through their cp hours before we arrived because front desk had difficulty locating our booking. Car park was open and didn't have roof against the sunlight. Room was air-conditioned. Clean bathroom, has water heater. Remote control provided was for the digibox and not for the tv. No telephone inside room. Bed mattress was not premium/comfortable. It was covered with leatherette case which we really did not like at all. Their bed linen was poorly fitted. Linen was easily dragged even with small body movements. I really hate that part. Staff was kind enough to lend us plate, glass, and utensils. So that's really good. Seashore was clean. Stones in the shore were removed which is good. No visible trash floating on the sea. Resort was not crowded and no loud noises can be heard. View of the resort was not perfect because of the nearby ship/barge just immediately within the vicinity of the resort. We were distracted by that. The level of the sea was deep even when you are not yet that far from the shore. Be extra careful especially if you are not an expert swimmer. Infinity pool has too much chlorine in it. Infinity pool would have been great if it was facing towards the open sea (not on the side because there wouldn't be any view to see at all). Food in the restaurant were priced reasonably. They served fresh meals. We didn't have corkage on food/drinks. Overall, our stay was fine but not great. Be tolerant with their not-so-good bed and linen.

First and foremost I would like to thank traveloka, overall it was good, the bad side is that the cable provider of the hotel was note good, the cable TV has series of interruptions which was very distracting and can cause us headache, then the perfume that was use to spray in the room for cleaning purposes maybe is too strong! since we have an allergic rhinitis thus it made us have a headache, spraying those scent is good but should be in minimal because not all persons will like it.

Place is very accessible. The food was great, everything we ordered were delicious. However the waiting time to get our food takes a little bit long that we had to follow up once in a while, but still worth the wait. Something to improve on. Staffs are also very attentive to your needs. The place is great and clean. Although for those who want to bath in the sea they only have a short shoreline. But it is clean and water is very clear.

We arrived earlier before check in time of 3pm. We were there around 10am so we opted to wait but then we notice that they allowed some guest to check in earlier and take note that they just arrived. I had to ask them if its ok to check in since they allowed other guest to do so. They seemed to struggle. they didn't even consider us waiting for a long time. We booked deluxe room and they gave us cottage room we noticed it on our 2nd day.

The infinity pool is the one of thing I love the most about this resort. Not only that, the location is good, near to the convenience store. Clean and nice room. Recommended!

what a great place!
I love CHBR, I have stayed there many times and always enjoy it, the staff is nice and attentive the rooms are clean and have the toiletries that travelers from outside of PH need. I would recommend it to anyone that is not looking for 4 seasons style accommodations, it is just affordable and pleasant.

Nice spot, excellent local food
Just by the ferry, maybe not quite a luxury resort...but absolute fabulous cuisine! You can really try everything, but my favourites remain the fish and sea food: tuna, shrimps, soup...even ceviche (not only in Peru, as you can see). Service was maybe a little slow, but for les than 10 eur per person you have a huge and delicious meal!

Convenient
We appreciated Camp Holiday being located at the port as we only had to walk and didn't have to worry about transportation. Although they were strict with the 3pm check-in so I suggest you come earlier, leave your stuff there, then hire a trike (habal-habal) to tour the island just like what we did. By the time we were done touring, the room was already available and we just had to rest. We got the cottage, which we liked so much as it didn't require climbing on stairs. It was like having our own bungalow with veranda. The beach area is small and rocky, and requires you to wear an aqua shoes or similar, but their pools are really nice. One pool is open to the public, while the one nearer to the beach is exclusive for guests. You can always go to other beaches, though. The food in their restaurant is nice and affordable, but there are also restaurants outside that you can explore. One activity we love is watching the barge going back and forth, while we're at the beach area. The staff are also nice and always willing to help. We have plans of going back to Samal Island and we will definitely be staying here again.

Accessible and quite affordable.
3/5 because the place was okay in terms of accessibility due to its location (just few walks from the samal wharf). The price was not that cheap (1800 for a bed for two per night w/o breakfast) which is not affordable for cheap travelers. They also don't offer dorms which would be less costy if ever. They have however some nice facilities within the complex which includes a restaurant, an infinity pool, a beach, playground and a mini stage (for performances everyweekends). The place is not exclusive for the checked in customers wc means it is also accessible for the public so you need to be wary about your things. The infinity pool closes at 10pm wc is early but its exclusive only for the booked customers. The restaurant food serving is too long (min of 30 mins). Also the place is full of mosquitos. The room is quite nice but the bathroom has only 1 floor drain (on the shower area so the water closet area is expected to have an overflow of water). Also, no bidets which is really hassle. Wifi is not accessible from the rooms. Its access is from the lobby only. You can pay thru credit card in the counter.

Satisfactory stay in Camp Holiday Resort
Booked a room here through asiatravel and chose it for its location and value. The location is great, it's just steps away from the port, and outside the property, you can book tours (through motorcycle) in Samal Island. Given the price, do not expect too much. They can improve on the beddings though :) bathroom has bidet for the toilet and hot and cold shower. Our television does not have good reception though. The staff service were okay, and responsive to our needs as well. Though there was a confusion at first since it seemed that they did not know that our booking package included breakfast. again, do not expect too much of the breakfast included :) The pool seems nice and big, though we were not able to try it. I also appreciated the view at night of the other side (Davao City) from this resort. If you are not too fussy in your accommodation, is in Samal Island for the tours, and are looking for a value resort, you can try this hotel. Points for improvement: The staff in front can greet guests and welcome them, whatever type of guest they are (walk-in or booked guests) Also, at first, we had the confusion of where to enter or exit since hotel guests and day trip/overnight guests had different entrances and exits.
