Feels like you're in a high-end resort for a very affordable price!
We opted this place and Punta del sol to celebrate our 5th anniversary. We stayed overnight in a bamboo room. Php2,200 for two.
The room was small but nice. It has a veranda-type of space outside the door where we hung out and chill out for a bit, and also used the space to hang our wet swimming clothes.
Somehow the design of the room and CR is a bit off. Shower facing the door? The socket a bit far from the electrical appliances like the tv and electric fan. Small issues nevertheless. I quite liked the room.
The beach was nice, too. Looks like a massive pool. However in the areas near the platforms, the water can be quite itchy. On the deeper waters it wasnt itchy at all. However, far from the beach, there were lots of what looked like sea snakes, but we were told that they only stay on the sand and are not venomous. Still creepy at first. In the end i totally disregarded them and swam as much as I could 😂
Tide can be very low or very high. I loved the design of the space wherein everything is designed to be just above the water when the tide is at its highest. Haha. I was afraid that the restaurant will be hit by water. But it didnt! Whoo.
The mangrove area is perfect for your photo ops 😎
The entire beach area is fenced with net over the edges that keeps floating garbage at bay.
Their pool is epic. The lights change almost every second. So beautiful at night. They also have a jacuzzi that is so amazing, overlooking Davao City lights at night. Super romantic. Their cottages are amazing as well. The designs are high-end.
Bar and restaurant are nice as well. Kainis lang yung pianista nila na biased when it comes to choosing the next song. He doesnt mind requests of other guests, only those of the tables that seemed to be the majority. Pls take note of this, management. Pwede namang per table ang pag grant ng request diba? Perfect na sana ang stay namin dun, sya lang ang nakasira. i would've given this resort 5 stars, pero 4 lang, sya ung bawas na isa.
Food is great -- breakfast comes with the payment. Nicely served Pinoy breakfast with slices of fruits and a glass of juice perfect for a sea-side brekky.
Other items on the menu are a bit but not pricey (just fine with the ambience), but worth it. For dinner, we had the best chopsuey we ever tasted for Php230, good for two.
Beer was reasonably priced at Php50.00 each for San Mig Light.
I def recommend Kayaking! Php250.00 only for two/hour. Cheaper than other resorts who are way more inferior that Cavanico. We were able to dive and see more underwater views because we paddled as far away from the beach with our Kayak.
Nice and accommodating staff! Hello to Sharie! From the lobby, we were serviced by a cart (?) that looks like a golf car to our room. Nice 😂 Also there was a free shuttle service to the barge that we didnt avail because we had our own service.
Overall -- a highly recommended place. Well-maintained. Nice for overnight stay or more. Kids-friendly, too.
Im recommending this to my friends. 😁
