The worst hotel ever
Stayed in this hotel not by choice but because it's the only available hotel seen in agoda. They said it's only almost 10 yr old hotel but looks like way older than that in upkeep (or is there a word as downkeep?) and cleanliness. The room is said to be executive room but, NO, there must be some mistake. There's not a trace of it being executive. The room is beside the kitchen in the first floor. It was reeking of smell i can't decipher. The toilet door wasn't working, so I just keep it unlocked. There were house cockroach everywhere, including a live one inside the CR. The toilet bowl cover was askew, only one hinge was attached. The shower hose (or was it the water heater hose?) was too rusty. The water from the faucet was too little, and goes directly under the sink making the floor wet, or soppy. Did I mention the water was brownish? I put in a clear PET bottle and voila, it was not clean. The beddings looked used, I was hesitant to lie down. The blanket was too thin and not even white. The TV has no remote control. I asked for plumber to fix the pipe under the faucet, they said no one's available. I asked if we could be transferred, no other room available. WHAT?!?!!!!! Our male conpanion staying in another room said there's only 3 holes in the shower head working. The rest were clogged. If they cannot maintain due to lack of funds, the least they can do is clean the hotel. This should be closed for being unsanitary. So, if you plan to go to Iligan for any reasons, DO. NOT. STAY. IN. CELADONE. HOTEL.

Good enough for a night's rest
This hotel offers good accommodation but don't expect too much as this is a 2 or 3 star hotel. But the rooms are clean, equipped with TV, Cabinet and their bathroom has a Hot and Cold shower. There is a Free WiFi also which is surprisingly fast considering that it is a free wifi. The good thing about this hotel is the accessibility, just across the hotel you may ride the public transport jeepneys that will take you to other parts of the city. The staff are very helpful also. Their rates are very much affordable ranging from 450 for a single accommodation (Aircon room, no Hot and cold shower though) to as high as 1000+ depending on the amenities of the room. Room rates ranging from 1000 and above comes with a free breakfast.

waya-waya
i was booked here as an exdeal for something since i know it's gonna be impossible to book a hotel during the city firsta. prior to coming to iligan, i've seen a lot of posts in social media about the water problems in the city. this one is horrible. i felt safe staying here. my stuff are still in place even if i'm away fot too long. the aircon is working well. i had a peaceful night but i just cannot use their water. waters coming from the faucet is dirty. a handful of mosquito eggs and larvae. we call it waya-waya. kiti-kiti in filipino. so the water is never safe for rinsing the mouth. i never took a shower. i am checking out tomorrow and hopefully i can talk to the manager. i would never pay for this. thanks for giving me a goodnight sleep but no thanks for the shower.

The best in Iligan
I came to Iligan to spend Easter with my girlfriend from Iligan. There was no room or privacy at her family's home, so a hotel was necessary. The purpose was firstly to be near the Cathedral for the Easter masses, then the week after Easter to explore the area together. We booked the Cheradel over Easter itself, which is considered the best hotel (it is double the price of the Celadon). We had a couple of nights in the province, and then did a search of a good hotel for the rest of the trip. I got fed up with the Celadon, mostly because the road outside was considered unsafe because of low life, and so we could not go for an evening stroll there. We stayed one night at Ryan's, which had building works on the road outside and also a power cut stopped the aircon. A lot of the hotels were on main roads, or noisy, or had cockroaches, or were smelly, or were booked up. We stopped at a very nice hotel just down the road from the Celadon, opposite the health college, with a lovely room, but no generator (essential when there were power cuts at night) for the aircon. So we came here. The proprietor's political allegiance was posted on the front door (they were having a presidential election at the time). Luckily we both support Aquino/Roxas, so this was a promising sign. It overlooks a little circular park in the middle of a roundabout. It was the best of both worlds, since it was not a busy road, yet the centre was 15 minutes away by jeepney, which stopped on this roundabout. The hotel itself was clean and the architecture delightful, with its maze of corridors and funny angles. It is a good idea to make careful notes of the route, otherwise you might never find your room again! Our room was quiet, the aircon took a bit of fiddling to get the right temperature, but we got the hang of it (they ask always to close it down when going out), and the shower was fine. The double bed was hard against the wall on one side, so one of us had to crawl over the other to get out. A bonus was a friendly little cook on the ground floor, who would happily cook us a reasonable Pinoy breakfast for a reasonable charge, and we would eat in this pleasant dining area near the water feature under the stairs. After one night, and having seen the other hotels on offer (including the Cheradel), I decided to stay there for the rest of my trip. I think the saddest thing was that there were not more people there. I don't know if there is something politial going on, but I could find little to fault it, and it deserved to be better supported. I do hope that it does not go out of business. My greatest fear is that it would be discovered, and so up go the prices.
