Great Stay! Near the beachfront
Had a great stay with Desiree's lodge. Ate Sarah was kind enough to let us check in so early (6am) since the room is already available. Room and bathroom were clean. But don't expect much since this is not a hotel. We had a double deck with aircon and ceiling fan. Another plus is the cable tv (but with no remote). Overall our stay was great and we got what we pay for. WIll definitely come back in here since it is close by Beach Break Surf school.

Very affordable but meh
Rating = 2.5 My friends and I were late to book a place in Baler, but this was among the recommendations by another acquaintance. We were just thankful that this place was still available. The place was fine. It was next to the boardwalk and is a beachfront lodge. However, we find the rooms a little bit cramped. No much movement can be done, especially if all of you are prepping your stuff. Hope they can do away with the TV; its taking too much space in a very tight area. Our room for 3 has AC and fan. We noticed that the room was not cooling. We just realized that night that it was the fan that's giving out warm air; thus, it was turned off. The room for 3 has its own bathroom. The room for 5, though had more space, the bathroom was outside. That bathroom does not have ventilation, so it can be very warm inside. If you are really on a very tight budget, I would recommend this place. But if you want a little bit of comfort, don't.

First Baler Backpacking Trip
I was tryna' look for a cheap room at Sabang beach since they are at the beachfront but all the known hotels are fully booked. A hospitable guy helped me find an affordable place to stay for a night. The owner was so kind to give me such a great price, she gave me a decent room with a double deck and a fan for only PHP600.00. A fan was enough as I like a warm place better. They also have PHP50.00 discount in surfing lessons with a tutor of course since you checked in at their place, so you'll be just paying PHP300.00 for an hour. The only problems is the flooding at the toilet when you take a bath. No hot water and wifi of course 😝

Budget friendly and best deal for people travelling in groups
I am giving this transient house a 4 star because of the following reasons which I think mostly describes why I loved this place: 1. Friendly staff - I do not know how many staff they have but both the people who entertained and helped us settled were super cool. They did not hesitate to lend us equipment, did not hesitate when we asked if they could buy us some rice, gave us a discount on the gas we can use for cooking and made sure that we all would not just fit but are also comfortable in our rooms. 2. The house is situated in front of the beach and we even had a surfing school right outside our door. The dining area was vast and was able to accommodate us all. The breeze at night is spectacular and you can really enjoy a sit-down drink with your friends. 3. All the rooms were airconditioned. One of our rooms had its own bath room in it so it was better than having to use a common bath room. A lot of electrial outlets so we all had our chance to recharge our devices. =) 4. The price was very affordable for a group of 9 people in a tight budget. 5. We were able to cook our own food. They had a refrigerator we could use, a dish dispenser and a sink outside where we can wash our plates etc. 6. Since the house is located beach front, we had a chance to visit and see other resorts and restaurants by foot! Neighboring resorts and restaurants includes Costa Pacifica Resort, Bay's Inn, Hungry Surfer Restaurant etc. A few things I observed that needs improvement: 1. A lot of insects in the dining area but I guess this was because we were situated near the beach 2. We experienced heavy rainfall and part of the dining area going to the kitchen were partly flooded but it went away as soon as the rain stopped. 3. The bath rooms had hot/cold showers that were not working. 4. There were 4 rooms so other stay-cationers were there with us but since we occupied most of the house, they had no choice but to stay in their rooms or in the living room area. Still, it would have been much better if we had the house for ourselves and did not have to keep a look out on our stuff. I would recommend this to my friends and family and when I do go back to Baler, I would still stay in this place.

Affordable
Very affordable. They have both beach front and non-beachfront units. We got the non-beach front duplex unit w/c costs 3k per room per night. There's TV and 2 fans per room. Good for big groups like us. The rooms are spacious and there's a kitchen with stove, pots and pans and utensils if you like to cook. It's also near a sari-sari store. We didn't mind that it was not beach front and the house is made of wood and nipa so it was very cool even with just fans.
