Visited Tagaytay again to hibernate and relax while trying out a cheapest place to stay.
Here we go, found a place to stay -- Filitico Hotel. Searched their website, tried the number posted @2am in the morning since I was in duty.. and yes it's ringing. So tried to text them @6am in the morning asking if they have available room on our chosen dates. And YES they replied. I asked if they allow walk-ins since both of us can't be able to do some reservation thru paying in banks and etc. and it's a YES again, and asked me our expected time of arrival.
Okay! We arrived at Olivarez Tagaytay at around 2pm, Sunday. We decided to have our lunch first before going to the hotel since we are not so sure if there are restaurants near the place. After that, we texted the hotel that we are already in Olivarez. They told me that we need to ride a tricycle and asked them to bring us in Brgy. Francisco, just in front of Rowena's. Fare is P50php/2pax.
I also do not know the exact place of the hotel, just opened google navigation map and voila according to it, it will passed by the Tagaytay Market (which I was familiar with, since it served as a terminal of jeeps and tricycle around the area). And I think the tricycle driver then, is not also familiar with the place. I just pretended to know it, and tell him to go straight and drop us in Rowena's. Good thing, I saw the the name of the hotel flashed in the street in front of Rowenas.
Okay!! So what I saw is a yellow painted residential house with a wide parking area in front. While crossing the road, my boyfriend told me if I am sure of the place, since it doesnt look like a hotel really. And I am actually wondering, I told him that I will ask first if we are on the right place. So we are infront of the gate when 2 women arrived and entered the gate. I asked them if this is the Filitico Hotel. And they said YES and they asked us to come inside while asking us if we had a reservation etc. I told her that I am the one texting if we can do walk-ins instead and that we will check-in. I think its the owner who told them that we are booked on Room 8, gave them the key and brought us to our room, while giving us a short tour of the place. I asked them where I should settle our payment. She said, I can just hand the payment to her. I am waiting for a receipt but unfortunately no receipt was handed to me. Anyways.. It was not a big deal to me as long as the transaction is good and no problem will arise.
Filitico Hotel -- it is actually at the back of the residential house of the owner. For me, I cannot call it a hotel but rather a apartment typed rooms with a cute pool in the middle.
We are booked in a standard room, Room 8 particularly. With a queen sized bed, 2 pillows and a thin blanket. Equipped with a cute flat screened TV (local channels only) attached to a wall, with a very strong AC (looking old but do not underestimate its power), with a vanity mirror also attached on the wall.
The room also has its own CR-- shower area with hot and cold showers divided with a shower curtain, toilet with flush provided with toilet tissue and wash area. 2 free sets of toilet supplies (bath soap and shampoo w/ conditioner) are also available. Towels are not provided, unless you'll tell the staffs that you needed one, and you'll be charge of P50 for using I think. So better to bring your own towels to be sure of the cleanliness and for your hygiene.
All priced for 1500php. Checked in time: 2pm, Check out time: 12nn. The package includes free use of the swimming pool, free use of parking space, free breakfast for two ( hotdog and egg with rice and brewed coffee), no corkage fees.. you may bring your own foods and drinks inside the room.
You can also asked for bottled water and coffee priced at P15 each to be delivered in your room.
*The owner and the staffs are friendly and very accomodating. The owner even offered us a free ride if we are also going to Olivarez during the time we went outside. He even oriented us the restaurants and shops nearby.
*Comfortable and simple room just like homes.
*Cheap and affordable rates.
*Strong water supply.
*Room view: Pineapple plantation, streetlights of I think Sta.Rosa?
*They offer room massage. (accdg to what posted at the back of our room)
* Quiet place to stay.
*Doormats are provided.
*Enviroment-friendly place. I love the plants and flowers plantes around the area.
*Thin blankets!! Not compatible with the strong AC of the room. We ended up just turning off the AC. How I wish they have comforters instead.
*No table inside. It's hard to eat inside the room.
*Small TV, no cable.
*Stairs are in tiles and is slippery when wet.
*Tricycles are the mode of transportation.
*Far from Skyranch, Magallanes Square and Ayala Serin if you are going to commute.
Overall we had a good experience!! :)
