Filipino travelers who are traveling with pets will need to make alternative arrangements for their animal companions before arriving at FKB Beach Resort. This might involve leaving them with a trusted friend or family member, or seeking out pet-friendly boarding facilities in their departure city. Check-in and Check-out Information

Upon arrival at FKB Beach Resort, you can proceed with check-in starting from 12:00 PM. This midday check-in time is standard for many accommodations and allows the housekeeping staff ample time to prepare the rooms after previous guests have departed. When you arrive, have your booking confirmation and a valid ID ready for a quick and efficient registration process.

If you happen to arrive earlier than 12:00 PM, you can inquire at the front desk if an early check-in is possible. While not guaranteed, sometimes rooms become available sooner, especially during less busy periods. If an early check-in isn't feasible, you can usually leave your luggage with the resort staff and begin exploring the nearby attractions or relax in a common area until your room is ready.

The check-out time at FKB Beach Resort is before 10:00 AM. This early check-out allows the hotel to prepare the rooms for incoming guests arriving later that day. If you require a later check-out, it's advisable to speak with the reception desk in advance. Depending on the resort's occupancy, a late check-out might be possible, sometimes for an additional fee.

If you have a later flight or ferry schedule, you can typically arrange for luggage storage at the resort after checking out. This service is very convenient as it allows you to continue enjoying your last few hours on Siquijor Island without being burdened by your bags. You can then retrieve your belongings before heading to the port or your next destination.

Your Travel Guide to Siquijor as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Siquijor from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For convenient booking, book flight tickets through Traveloka and compare fares across major airlines.

Traveling to Siquijor Island from Manila or other major Philippine cities primarily involves a combination of air and sea travel. The most common gateway is Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental. You can book flight to Dumaguete City (DGT) from Manila (MNL) or Cebu (CEB). Flight prices can range from PHP 2,500 to PHP 6,000 or more, depending on the season and how far in advance you book.

From the Dumaguete Airport, take a short tricycle or taxi ride to the Dumaguete Port. The fare is typically around PHP 100-150. At the port, you'll find several ferry and fast craft operators like OceanJet and Montenegro Shipping Lines that ply the route to Siquijor Port. The ferry ticket prices usually range from PHP 250 to PHP 400 for a one-way trip, and the journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

Alternatively, you can travel to Cebu City first and take a ferry directly to Siquijor. This route might be longer but can be a good option if you are already in the Visayas region. For those coming from Mindanao, ferries from Cagayan de Oro or Bohol also serve Siquijor. Planning your trip in advance and checking ferry schedules is crucial, as they can change due to weather conditions.

Best Time to Visit Siquijor

Siquijor Island enjoys a tropical climate, with generally warm temperatures year-round. The best time to visit for most Filipino travelers is during the dry season, which typically runs from November to May. During these months, you can expect less rainfall, more sunshine, and calmer seas, making it ideal for island hopping, beach activities, and exploring the island's natural attractions.

The peak tourist season usually falls between December and February, coinciding with the Christmas holidays and cooler weather in other parts of the country. During this period, expect higher accommodation rates and more crowds. For a more relaxed and budget-friendly trip, consider visiting during the shoulder months of November, March, April, or May, where you can still enjoy good weather with fewer tourists.

The wet season, from June to October, brings more frequent rain showers, which can sometimes be heavy. However, this period also offers lush greenery and fewer visitors. If you don't mind occasional rain and are looking for a more tranquil experience, the wet season can still be a rewarding time to visit, especially if you plan to explore inland attractions like waterfalls.

Food and Dining Near Siquijor — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

When visiting Siquijor, be sure to indulge in the local culinary scene, which offers a delightful array of Filipino flavors with a coastal twist. One dish you absolutely must try is fresh grilled seafood. Siquijor, being an island, boasts an abundance of freshly caught fish, squid, and prawns, often grilled to perfection over charcoal. Look for local eateries or carinderias near the coast for the most authentic experience.

Another local specialty worth seeking out is Kinilaw, the Filipino version of ceviche. Prepared with raw fish marinated in vinegar, onions, ginger, and chili peppers, it’s a refreshing and tangy dish that perfectly complements the tropical climate. You'll find variations of Kinilaw in many local restaurants, each offering a slightly different take on this classic preparation.

Don't leave Siquijor without trying some of the local delicacies, often found in markets or small bakeries. These might include various types of puto (rice cakes) and bibingka (a baked rice cake cooked in clay pots), especially if you visit during festive occasions. For a more substantial meal, try local stews and vegetable dishes that showcase the island's produce. Exploring the local food scene is an integral part of experiencing Siquijor.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for Siquijor

Siquijor is known for its rich cultural heritage, including traditional healing practices and folklore. While exploring, it's important to be respectful of local customs. Filipinos are generally warm and welcoming, so a friendly demeanor and a smile go a long way. Always ask for permission before taking photos of people, especially elders or those involved in traditional practices.

When it comes to safety, Siquijor is considered one of the safer islands in the Philippines. However, it's always wise to exercise standard precautions. Keep your valuables secure, be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas or at night, and avoid walking alone in poorly lit or isolated places. Informing someone of your itinerary can also be a good practice.

For emergencies, know that local police and medical services are available. It's helpful to have the contact numbers of your accommodation and the local tourist information center handy. For seamless travel planning and communication, consider downloading essential apps. Google Maps is invaluable for navigation, Grab (though less prevalent on smaller islands, it's good to have for major cities), and a reliable translation app can be useful.

Hahha. Awe, what can I say? The nice little lady that welcomed us was lovely. This review isnt to bash the "resort" or people running it, just to help future patrons to know what to expect. The room is just that, a room, no windows, no sink and a questionable toilet/shower combo room. They have 4 dogs that are very vocal, Roaches, that are very active, and the "beach" looks a bit like a dumping ground. The road way "entrance" is a goat path through what looks like local housing. Its not the easiest to find, just ask somebody and they will point you in the right direction. The power was out and the already struggling AC didnt cool things down enough before the power outage to bare the heat and stagnant air in the windowless room. Because of the combination of these things we had to leave just a few hours into our stay. Meh. Is what it is,
