If you are looking for a quite place to spend few days surrounded by nature in front of the beach and away from the crowds of El Nido, this is your place. I came here manly because of diving with manta rays. This very simple Filipino style hotel is placed in between the only two scuba diving shops in the area. If you look for luxury, don't come here. You only will find simple rooms in front of the beach surrounded by nature with a delicious local run restaurant. The a/c rooms are larger than the fun room I stayed in. But for my backpack standards, the room was good enough for a couple of diving days.

The staff is absolutely amazing. I literally felt like family being there. They are wonderful. The room was clean and the property was beautiful. If you want a place to relax and get away this is it. At night the waves hitting the beach were peaceful. They have several different options of rooms and have a magnificent view of the beach. I will return. The staff really make this place one of a kind. I literally felt like I was leaving family.

Great secluded place. The staff were great and very helpful =) They have free breakfast, the restaurant is open into the evening. Great place to disconnect and chill. Be aware though that this is in Sibaltan, the east side of El Nido. They have their own tours, but if you want to do the tours in the "main" part of El Nido, the west side, it's a 1 hour van ride.

Address and Getting There

Floresita's Beach Resort is situated in Barangay Sibaltan, within the municipality of Sibaltan, El Nido, Palawan, Philippines, with the postal code 5313. This location places you in a part of El Nido that offers a slightly more tranquil setting compared to the immediate town center, allowing for a more relaxed atmosphere. Barangay Sibaltan itself is known for its natural beauty and proximity to coastal areas, providing a genuine feel of island living.

Getting to El Nido typically involves flying into the Lio Airport (ENI) or the Puerto Princesa International Airport (PPS). These vans usually depart from the Puerto Princesa van terminal and can drop you off at your hotel in El Nido. The journey offers scenic views of Palawan's diverse landscapes. If you prefer a more direct and comfortable transfer, private van hire is also available, though at a higher cost. Planning your transport ahead of time can make your arrival smoother.

Your Travel Guide to El Nido as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to El Nido from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For convenient booking, book flight tickets through Traveloka and compare fares across major airlines.

Traveling to El Nido from Manila and other major Philippine cities is an adventure in itself, with several transport options available. The most convenient way is by air, with flights operating into Lio Airport (ENI) in El Nido or the larger Puerto Princesa International Airport (PPS). From Manila, you can book flight tickets to either airport. Flights to Lio Airport are generally more direct to El Nido but can be pricier and less frequent than those to Puerto Princesa.

If you opt for flights to Puerto Princesa, expect a scenic land journey of approximately 5 to 6 hours to reach El Nido. Shared vans are the most popular mode of transport for this route, offering a balance of cost and convenience. These vans depart regularly from the Puerto Princesa van terminal. For a more comfortable and personalized trip, you can also arrange for private van transfers, though this comes at a higher expense. Booking your flight and onward transfers in advance is highly recommended, especially during peak travel seasons.

For the more adventurous and budget-conscious traveler, bus travel is also an option, particularly from Puerto Princesa. Buses offer a more economical way to reach El Nido, though the journey is longer. Regardless of your chosen method, planning your transportation well in advance will ensure a smoother transition to your El Nido accommodation, allowing you to focus on enjoying the stunning landscapes of Palawan.

Best Time to Visit El Nido

El Nido experiences a tropical climate, with distinct dry and wet seasons that influence the best time for a visit. The dry season, typically running from November to May, is considered the peak tourist season. During these months, you can expect sunny skies, calm seas, and minimal rainfall, making it ideal for island hopping, swimming, snorkeling, and other water activities. The months of December to February are particularly pleasant with cooler temperatures.

The wet season, from June to October, brings occasional rainfall and potentially stronger winds, which can sometimes lead to tour cancellations or rougher sea conditions. However, this period also sees fewer crowds and lower accommodation prices, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers who don't mind the possibility of rain. If you prefer a balance of good weather and fewer tourists, the shoulder months of November and May can be excellent choices.

For Filipino travelers planning their trip, it's wise to consider your priorities. If clear skies and calm waters for island hopping are paramount, aim for the dry season. If you're looking to save money and avoid large crowds, the wet season or shoulder months might be more suitable, provided you are flexible with your plans and prepared for potential weather changes.

Food and Dining Near El Nido — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

El Nido offers a delightful culinary scene that blends fresh seafood with local Filipino flavors. When you visit, be sure to try Kinilaw, the Filipino version of ceviche, where fresh raw fish is marinated in vinegar, calamansi juice, onions, and ginger. It’s a refreshing appetizer that perfectly complements the tropical climate. You'll find excellent versions in many local eateries and restaurants.

Another must-try is Grilled Liempo, marinated pork belly grilled to perfection. The smoky flavor and tender texture make it a favorite among locals and tourists alike. Pair it with a side of rice and a dipping sauce of soy sauce and calamansi for a truly satisfying meal. Many beachfront restaurants offer this classic Filipino dish, often with a view of the sea.

Don't leave El Nido without sampling fresh seafood, especially grilled fish and prawns, often caught daily by local fishermen. Many restaurants allow you to choose your seafood directly from the display and have it cooked to your preference. For a taste of home, look for La Paz Batchoy or Mami noodles, hearty noodle soups that offer comfort and warmth, especially on cooler evenings. These dishes showcase the diverse and delicious culinary landscape available to Filipino travelers.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for El Nido

El Nido is part of the Philippines, and as such, shares many cultural similarities with the rest of the country. Filipinos are known for their hospitality and warmth. It's customary to be respectful of local customs, dress modestly when visiting religious sites, and always greet people with a smile. Learning a few basic Tagalog phrases like "Salamat" (Thank you) and "Magandang araw" (Good day) can go a long way in fostering positive interactions.

Safety in El Nido is generally good, but like any travel destination, it's wise to take precautions. Keep your valuables secure, be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas, and avoid walking alone in poorly lit places late at night. It's also advisable to stay hydrated, use sunscreen, and be cautious with street food if you have a sensitive stomach. For emergencies, note down the local police and hospital contact numbers.

To enhance your travel experience, consider downloading a few essential apps. A reliable navigation app like Google Maps can help you find your way around. For communication, messaging apps like WhatsApp are widely used. Traveloka itself is indispensable for booking accommodations, flights, and activities, ensuring a seamless trip. Having these tools readily available will make your exploration of El Nido smoother and more enjoyable.

This was an absolutely stunning place. I was not paying attention to the fact that it is not in El Nido proper, so I didn't get enough time to actually enjoy it, but I do highly recommend staying here if a hideaway cabin literally on the beach and away from civilization is what you are looking for

We had a nice Stay at Floresita’s. The resort is on the beachfront of quiet Sibaltan town, about 1 hour from El Nido town. The view is nice and there are benches, hammocks and chairs on the beach. However you have to walk far to swim as the tide is low. The huts were basic and small (only bed and bathroom with no door) but fine for their purpose of only sleeping there at night. This place is perfect for resourceful travellers who want to experience “simple life/camping” experience. Electricity at night, no wifi when we were there and barely any network. It felt good to disconnect! However you might want to plan your next destination before you get there! The staff was friendly and helpful to some extent, especially for scooter rental as well as arranging our transport to and from the resort. The included breakfast was simple but good. We overall had a positive experience and would stay there again.

We had a great stay here! We chose to stay in a tent to save money and were very pleased to find that it was set up right on the beach. The island tour they offer is also a great value compared to those in El Nido. There were only 6 people on our boat and the price includes lunch.

Floresitas is a perfect place if you want to tune out and just read a book or get some rest.Prepare for no internet! Its a very calm place far away from eveything else... A friendly family managing the resort takes care of everything you need, not far from the place at the beach you find more restaurants. We spent 5 days there and could have stayed forever, the "far away from everything" feeling there was exactly what we wanted. Also recommended: the snorkeling tour that takes you to amazing coral reefes

Perfect place if you want to escape the craziness of El Nido town. Very relaxed and quite, with an amazing staff that's always taking care of their guests. Also you can do island hoping from here (Sibaltan village), with beautiful islands to visit and not as crowded as in El Nido.

First of all the Internet does not work. At all! Phone signal for both Globe and Smart do not work. That explains why both their listed numbers don't work, including chat service. They charged 1,500 pesos for airport pickup (I guess it's reasonable due to its remote location). The place looks good online, but it's extremely small. The length fits a double sized mattress, with about a foot left. The width is about the same. If you are over 6' tall, you will feel the discomfort and mosquito bites. The mosquito net is not sufficient to keep the mosquitos out - you become the midnight buffet. Electricity is on between 6pm-6am. The Wifi by the eating area has good signal, but what good is it if there's no Internet? The island tour price is 1,500 pesos - not worth it! They take you to places that the corals have been dead. El Nido offers better tours but cheaper ( A tour - 1,200p; B tour - 1,300, C tour - 1,400). There isn't much to do or sightsee. The beach is unswimmable. One good thing about this place is its remote location where you do get peace and quiet. It's just not worth the agony of sleepless nights due to mosquitos. Then, the overprice for services. We thought the little qilted bananas were free for guests. They do charge. Anyway we originally reserved for four nights but could only stay for two. Let it be known I am retired Army infantryman...this was just ridiculous! I will not return or recommend it. Anyway, that was our experience.

Overall, we had a wonderful and memorable stay here. We knew it was an "eco-friendly" hotel going in and would not be as comfortable as a regular vacation hotel. The wifi did not work the entire stay, intermittent generator failures, and there was a few hours of not having any running water for the bathroom. It felt more like a camping experience. We spent most of our time out and about during the day. I highly recommend their day-long island hopping tour. The staff was always friendly and accommodating, they helped plan and set up our daily activities, meals were delicious, and the view from the hillside huts is amazing.

Good if you want to stay away from civilization and if you want to rent a bike to go around. It is more than an hour ride from town centre to this place. Not recommended if you are looking to meet other travellers.

If you want the hustle and bustle of a 'city,' don't stay here. It's in a great location for relaxation. You can rent a motorbike to see the island (and get to the city). They were friendly, caring, and upfront about what they had and didn't have. Personally, I loved it!

This was an absolutely stunning place. I was not paying attention to the fact that it is not in El Nido proper, so I didn't get enough time to actually enjoy it, but I do highly recommend staying here if a hideaway cabin literally on the beach and away from civilization is what you are looking for
