The hotel is really outdated the lights in the room was very dim when we checked in there was no towels and robes even the blankets when we requested they told us the bed sheets was the blanket. Also the bed sheets was really old there are a lot of holes, ripped. The flush in the toilet bowl was not working properly even the shower head was broken. The place also was far from the tourists attractions and there we're no restaurants or stores nearby. The complimentary breakfast also doesn't tastes good with limited choices. The only thing that we enjoyed was the beachfront other than that we will not go back again on this hotel.

It was supposedly the gem of the North. I recall back then, the place could rival Bohol Beach Club on service and amenities, but today the place is complete let down. Gone are the attentive staffs, most of the food in the menu are not available, keycards are not working, beds are squeaking, spa is no longer offered, phonelines for room service are always busy, can't take a simple order of which flavor of ice cream - seems everything became a disappointment. The only thing worth the visit is for pictorial purposes - but it's no longer the ideal place for enjoying the place itself.

Stayed at Fort Ilocandia 17 years ago and went back just recently, indeed got the same expectations, the place remained intact and still got lots of outdoor activities. The staffs are hospitable, rooms are clean except there’s a little dumped smell though, understandable considering unlike before that there was still a casino where tons of people flock the place. Wish they could improve the ambience of the rooms to make it look new. But over-all, still a great place to stay in the north. Will be back with my family to enjoy the scenic place and outdoor activities.

The hotel food is okay, the service is good (with exception of reception personnels), cant say anything on the cleanliness, the beds are comfortable. However, this hotel is so creepy af. If you know Stephen King’s “The Shining”, this hotel will remind you of the overlook hotel in Colorado Rockies and make you feel you’re in that hotel. We are just waiting for the twins to show up and ask us to play with them in the dark lobby! We hate the bathroom! it is so dark and very creepy! (It is very clean though). The mood here is very different, it's very sad and depressing, no music (even in the restaurant), very quiet, all you could see is darkness and old pictures. This hotel is not for scaredy-cat and weak hearted people. If you’re a smoker, the smoking room will make you quit while you’re in the hotel. Do not check-in during weekdays as this will scare the hell out of you. We didn’t take chance and explore the hotel amenities anymore, our fear already eaten up all our energies, spent most of our day outside the hotel to calm ourselves.

Fort ilocandia is very significant to us, we are also planning that when we got married Fort ilocandia is our wedding venue but now we changed our mind because of what we experienced. There’s unpleasant smell in the bathroom. They upgraded our standard room to deluxe room which is there’s a lot of problem inside the room.the worst is there’s cockroaches behind our bed. The electric socket are not functioning so they gave us electric extension to have our gadgets to be charge

Overall, it was a very nice stay. Everything was great about the hotel. The only downside is the lack of public transport from the hotel to town. There should be a shuttle for certain times to and from the hotel.
