Surprisingly strong wifi!
The title is the best pro ever in my stay in Golden Gate Suites. I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights in this relatively new hotel.
I trusted my boyfriend to find me a good, clean, affordable hotel which is near to Silliman University. So, he booked me here and to my worry, I realized I forgot to tell him I needed strong wifi. When I looked at the reviews, I read that wifi internet was quite weak.
However, and to my surprise, I did not have any problems and was able to immediately connect and easily browse through my social media accounts, including gmail for work. The room was cozy enough, I booked a matrimonial room. There was one queen-sized bed with four soft yet firm pillows. For me, that is a very generous thing! Love it! The sheets were clean and new. The comfort room was clean and it did not have a glass wall that separated it from the CR (whew! thank goodness). My room has a window and a balcony accessible to anyone from the outside, so I had to make sure the window was locked firmly. The AC was good, too, and it was heartwarming to interact with their staff. They were kind and courteous and helpful. This hotel is also located near Silliman University and the boulevard and Sans Rival. There is a 7/11 outside, Mang Inasal, and beside it is a massage parlor which I go to when I need a good pampering.
The only things I did not fancy were the sticky floor. I think it has something to do with the chemical they used to mop the floor. When I entered the room and removed my footwear, it felt unpleasant. The next day I saw one staff mopping the floor near the stairs and after passing through, I felt the same sticky feel from my shoes. So, I hope they check that out. Lastly, this is a minor thing, but I hope they can upgrade their blankets. Their towels are on point but their blankets are too thin. Maybe in the next months they can scratch hospital-thin-blankets to comforters for better quality!
In general, I recommend this hotel for those thinking of quality and affordability! Good, clean, and affordable! Plus, strong wifi which I believe they have recently upgraded. Next are the blankets!
