What Guests Say About Their Stay

This is my 3rd time here in Haenisa Condotel and I must say, it’s as welcoming as ever. No wonder I always find myself coming back to this place whenever I have plans to stay overnight in the city of Quezon. The cleanliness of the room, the well maintained lobbies, the active crew members (not to forget to mention Ms. Jing, she’s a great receptionist. The way she welcomed me in to this condotel honestly gave out a really positive tone to start my stay!) is remarkable! The ambiance, aesthetics, environment, accessibility, and overall quality of stay is what truly sets this place apart from most budget hotels and it’s actually much cheaper relative to that of most budget hotels. I truly recommend Haenisa Condotel to those in search of a budget yet quality stay.

Your Travel Guide to Quezon City as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Quezon City from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For convenient booking, book flight tickets through Traveloka and compare fares across major airlines.

For many Filipinos, traveling to Metro Manila, and by extension Quezon City, often begins with a flight. Major airports like NAIA in Manila serve as the primary gateways. Flight prices can vary significantly based on the season and how far in advance you book, but you can often find round-trip fares from major Philippine cities like Cebu or Davao ranging from PHP 3,000 to PHP 8,000. It's always a good idea to book flight tickets early for the best deals.

If you're traveling from nearby provinces in Luzon, bus travel is a common and economical option. Numerous bus companies operate routes to various terminals within Metro Manila, including those accessible to Quezon City. Bus fares typically range from PHP 500 to PHP 1,500, depending on the origin city and the type of bus service. The journey can take anywhere from 4 to 10 hours, so consider overnight trips to maximize your time.

Driving to Quezon City is also feasible for those coming from accessible provinces. Major expressways like the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) connect to Metro Manila's road network. Be prepared for toll fees, which can add up, and the notorious Manila traffic. Planning your route and checking real-time traffic updates using navigation apps is highly recommended for a smoother drive.

Best Time to Visit Quezon City

Quezon City, like much of Metro Manila, experiences a tropical climate characterized by two main seasons: the dry season and the wet season. The dry season generally runs from November to April, offering the most pleasant weather for exploring. Temperatures are warm, and rainfall is less frequent, making it ideal for outdoor activities and sightseeing. This period, especially from December to February, is often considered the peak tourist season.

The wet season typically spans from May to October. During these months, expect higher humidity and more frequent, often heavy, rainfall. While occasional downpours can occur, they usually don't last the entire day, and there are still plenty of opportunities for sightseeing between showers. Traveling during the shoulder months of the wet season, like May or October, can offer a good balance of decent weather and fewer crowds.

For Filipino travelers looking to avoid the largest crowds and potentially find better deals on accommodation and flights, the periods just before or after the peak dry season can be advantageous. Late October to November, or late February to March, often provide a good mix of favorable weather and a more relaxed atmosphere. Ultimately, the best time depends on your personal preferences for weather and crowd levels.

Food and Dining Near Quezon City — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

No trip to the Philippines is complete without indulging in its rich culinary landscape, and Quezon City offers ample opportunities to savor local flavors. A must-try is Adobo, the unofficial national dish, featuring meat (often chicken or pork) braised in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and peppercorns. You can find excellent versions in many local eateries and even in some hotel restaurants.

Another Filipino favorite is Sinigang, a sour and savory soup typically made with tamarind broth, meat, and an assortment of vegetables like kangkong, radish, and tomatoes. Its comforting, tangy taste is perfect for any weather. Look for restaurants that specialize in traditional Filipino cuisine to experience an authentic bowl of this beloved soup.

For those with a sweet tooth, Halo-halo is an iconic Filipino dessert that you absolutely must try. This refreshing concoction is a delightful mix of shaved ice, milk, sweet beans, fruits, jellies, leche flan, and ube ice cream. It’s the perfect way to cool down on a warm day and offers a delightful explosion of textures and flavors.

Don't leave without trying Lechon, a whole roasted pig known for its incredibly crispy skin and succulent meat. While a whole lechon is often for celebrations, many restaurants offer lechon kawali (deep-fried pork belly) or lechon paksiw (pork stewed in liver sauce) as delicious alternatives. The rich, savory taste is a true Filipino indulgence.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for Quezon City

Filipino culture is known for its warmth and hospitality. When interacting with locals in Quezon City, a friendly demeanor and a smile go a long way. It's customary to use "po" and "opo" when addressing elders or those in positions of authority as a sign of respect. While English is widely spoken, learning a few basic Tagalog phrases like "Salamat" (Thank you) can be appreciated.

Quezon City is generally safe for tourists, but like any large urban area, it's wise to be aware of your surroundings. Avoid displaying expensive items openly, and be cautious of your belongings in crowded places like markets or public transport. It's also advisable to use reputable taxi services or ride-sharing apps for transportation, especially at night. Keep emergency contact numbers handy.

For essential services, dialing 911 will connect you to emergency services in the Philippines. Local police hotlines can also be found online for specific precincts. Having a local SIM card can be very useful for staying connected and accessing information quickly. Consider downloading apps like Grab for transportation and food delivery, Google Maps for navigation, and a reliable currency converter.

Familiarizing yourself with local customs will enhance your experience. Filipinos are generally patient and understanding, but being mindful of noise levels in residential areas and respecting queues are basic courtesies. Embracing the local pace and being open to new experiences will undoubtedly lead to a more rewarding visit to Quezon City.

I booked a room which has kitchen as indicated when I was selecting rooms but that is not what they gave us. It also said that we'll have free breakfast but when I asked the receptionist I was told that it was not included. The room is clean and the location is good. I was just disappointed with the misinformation when booking and the actual package we had. I won't consider coming back to the hotel. The room was also too dark.

Our stay here was nice. Beddings are clean however, the pillows are too hard for may liking. Good thing they have throw pillows which I preferred to use. There is a fridge inside the room, AC, cable TV and big cabinet to keep your clothes. Free use of bath towels and bath essentials (toothbrush, shampoo, toothpaste & soap which smells like Perla). There is also a small table where you can eat & work on. Even though it is near a residential area and bus stations, it is not noisy so we were able to sleep comfortably. For the bathroom, it is kinda small and the shower head is almost near the toilet so it gets wet when you shower. I hope that they add more white bulbs because most are yellow lights (there is only 1 white bulb as I remember) which is too dark specially at night. Room smells like your at home; I think it is because of the wooden furniture. Free hot water available at the small canteen down the hotel. Overall, our stay is nice and comfortable.

1. They don't have a regular housekeeping service. 2. The doorknob of our bathroom door was not working. 3. The fridge inside the room was not working too. 4. They don't have a telephone inside the room that can be used if we need a food service. 5. They gave us a room that is different from the one we booked for.

Clean, big room, and affordable. Couldn't connect to their free wifi for the first 2 days but they transferred me on the 3rd day to a floor where wifi was available. Staff was friendly enough. Food was good.

I became a professional cockroach killer during my 3-day stay. I was not able to sleep well in fear that small roaches will be all over my bed during the night. My bed’s headboard was damaged. The neighbors were loud even during late hours of the night. Security is also a concern for there were times that no one was in the front desk and the security personnel was nowhere to be found. The AC and the water heater in the bathroom were working fine though. Will surely choose a more expensive one next time for the cheap price was not worth the stay especially if it would be for a few days.

This hotel is good for backpackers. Near government offices like LTO and SSS. Wifi is good except for no signal of Globe. I'm not sure if it is the same with other networks like Smart and Sun.

first I would like to compliment the place its good and as well as the location its very accessible to EDSA and to major Bus terminals. However, the service is so terrible! The staff who has the master key will just gonna barge into your room without knocking at the door knowing that someone is inside. and the worse they are unapologetic. that's so impolite! the staff need to undergo proper decorum training. that's all.

it was an ok stay. at least i can say that it's worth the price that we have paid for. Good location. I just hope that they have some kind of room freshener or humidifier. sad that we weren't. able to try the food since the resto is close during Sunday.

The only problem is about the heater. It doesn’t work. But overall, it’s still a good experience as ever.
