As we enter the hotel and waited for room to be available, they will offer you fresh ice tea, and their bellman will assist you with your luggage and escort you to your room. Also, if you still want to work or do social media errands, they have free wifi in the lobby and in your room. 💜 We had a great time staying in DreamWorld, also my son, enjoyed playing in the bathtub, and swimming pool. You deserve this, especially since they have affordable rooms and accommodating staff with good choices of food and a cozy pool that you and your family will surely love. It is a simple way to escape from our daily routine and have family time for a while.

Your Travel Guide to Quezon City as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Quezon City from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For travelers coming from other parts of the Philippines, flying into Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila is the most common method. Major airlines like Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and AirAsia offer frequent flights to Manila from various provincial capitals. Flight durations range from approximately 30 minutes from Caticlan to over 2 hours from Davao or General Santos. Once at NAIA, you can take a taxi, a ride-sharing service, or a pre-booked car to reach Quezon City. The travel time can vary significantly, from 45 minutes to over an hour, depending on traffic conditions and your specific destination within Quezon City. You can easily book flight tickets through Traveloka for competitive fares.

If you are traveling from nearby provinces in Luzon, taking a bus is a practical and economical option. Numerous bus terminals in Metro Manila serve routes from various regions. For example, buses from Northern Luzon typically arrive at terminals in Cubao or Pasay, while those from Southern Luzon might arrive at terminals closer to the city center. Bus fares generally range from PHP 400 to PHP 1,000, depending on the origin and type of bus service. From these terminals, you can take a taxi or a local jeepney to reach your specific destination in Quezon City.

Driving to Quezon City is also a viable option for those coming from accessible parts of Luzon. Major expressways like the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) connect to EDSA, the main artery that runs through Quezon City. Toll fees will apply depending on your starting point. Navigating through Metro Manila can be challenging due to traffic, so it's advisable to use a GPS navigation app. The journey can take several hours, so ensure your vehicle is in good condition and plan for rest stops.

Best Time to Visit Quezon City

Quezon City, like most of Metro Manila, experiences a tropical climate with two main seasons: the dry season and the wet season. The dry season runs from November to April, offering generally sunny days and lower humidity, making it a popular time for both local and international tourists. Temperatures during this period can range from 24°C to 34°C. This is an ideal time to explore outdoor attractions and enjoy the city's many activities without the interruption of heavy rainfall.

The wet season typically spans from May to October. During these months, expect intermittent to heavy rainfall, often accompanied by thunderstorms. While this season can bring cooler temperatures, it also means potential disruptions due to typhoons and localized flooding. However, the wet season also brings fewer crowds and potentially lower accommodation prices, which can be appealing for budget-conscious travelers. If you visit during this time, it's wise to pack an umbrella and waterproof gear and to check weather forecasts regularly.

For the most pleasant weather, consider visiting during the cooler months of the dry season, specifically from November to February. This period offers a comfortable climate for sightseeing and outdoor activities. However, it is also considered peak tourist season, so expect larger crowds and potentially higher prices for flights and accommodation. Planning and booking in advance is recommended if you aim to visit during these months.

Food and Dining Near Quezon City — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

Filipino cuisine is a delightful exploration of flavors, and Quezon City offers ample opportunities to savor its best. A must-try is Adobo, often considered the national dish. You can find excellent versions at local eateries and even in more upscale restaurants around Quezon City, offering a comforting and familiar taste.

Another iconic dish is Sinigang, a sour and savory soup, typically made with tamarind broth, meat, and an assortment of vegetables like kangkong, radish, and tomatoes. The sourness is incredibly refreshing, especially on a warm day. Many restaurants near Hotel Dream World North EDSA will feature this dish, providing a taste of home-style cooking that is both hearty and flavorful. It’s a dish that truly represents the Filipino palate’s love for contrasting tastes.

For those seeking something a bit more festive, Lechon is a whole roasted pig with incredibly crispy skin and tender, flavorful meat. While often reserved for special occasions, many restaurants offer Lechon portions, allowing you to sample this delicacy. The rich, succulent taste is unparalleled and a true indulgence for any food lover. Exploring local markets and carinderias can lead you to some of the most authentic and delicious Lechon experiences.

Don't leave Quezon City without trying Halo-Halo, the ultimate Filipino dessert. This popular treat is a delightful concoction of shaved ice, milk, sweet beans, fruits, jellies, leche flan, and ube ice cream. It’s a perfect way to cool down and satisfy your sweet tooth. Many cafes and restaurants offer their own unique take on this beloved dessert, making it a fun culinary adventure to find your favorite version.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for Quezon City

Filipino culture is known for its warmth and hospitality. When interacting with locals in Quezon City, a friendly demeanor and a smile go a long way. It's customary to show respect to elders, and using terms like "po" and "opo" when speaking to them is a sign of politeness. While generally a safe city, it's always wise to be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas like markets and public transport.

When using public transportation such as jeepneys or buses, be mindful of your belongings. Keep valuables secure and avoid displaying expensive items openly. For taxis and ride-sharing services, ensure the meter is used or agree on a fare beforehand. In case of emergencies, the national emergency hotline is 911. It's also a good idea to have the contact numbers of your hotel and local friends readily available.

To enhance your travel experience in Quezon City, several apps can be very useful. Waze or Google Maps are indispensable for navigation, helping you find your way around the city's complex road network and avoid traffic jams. Familiarizing yourself with basic Filipino phrases can also enrich your interactions. Simple greetings like "Magandang umaga" (Good morning) or "Salamat" (Thank you) are appreciated. We always stay at Hotel Dreamworld, especially since I have a graduate course class nearby. Very accommodating staff and more convenient. The buffet breakfast is also good. All good except some of the comfort rooms in premium rooms have some drainage problems.

Location: Near SM North EDSA and MRT station. 📶 Wi-Fi: FAST. 🚿 Comfort room water pressure: Very nice (good 5th floor), ✳️ flooring drainage not good, prone to slippage. 📺 TV remote: Need to request at reception. 🔆 Early check-in: Additional 250.00 pesos/hour. 🌬️ Aircon: Good but not too cold. 🍽️ Rice Bowl meal is good for its price.

The AC was working, you can definitely say that since maingay siya. However, even if it was set to HIGH, it 's still not enough to make the room cooler. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet.:) Will I book again? Yes to other nearby hotels siguro.

Food was good. Ambabait ng staff but I had to wait too long sa reception para makapag check in. Tapos ang kati ng bed. Para akong nasa cheap motel di ako nakatulog ng maayos I had to book another night sa nearby hotel and I had to leave early than my usual check out. Definitely not staying here again.

Very poor and old facilities, weird grandpa photos allover the room even on the bathroom, sink is leaking badly, I request them to transfer us to other room but they gave us very small space room that when you move you could even bump your head on the wall, the breakfast is always late! You need to call and remind them multiple times for you to be able to have just one fried egg with a slice of tomato and 1 spoon of regular corned beef!

Very disappointing! Rooms are dirty, the room staff are unprofessional (doing room checks every hour resulting in disturbed sleep) and air conditioner was not cold enough (lobby was way colder than the actual room, on a rainy day!). Waste of money and time.

Staff are not friendly. From the time I was about to check-in, they claim that my booking can not be seen in their system, even if I showed my confirmation booking through email. I waited for almost 45 minutes and when I got angry, they suddenly gave me a room and guilt trip me that they upgraded my room to deluxe and said that Traveloka isn't responding to them. No tissue on the room and we still requested for the towel. 2nd bad experience was we informed the breakfast to be served at 6:15 in the morning and they confirmed but every time I tried to call for 4x already, they say that I just have to wait til 10 am because serving of breakfast is per floor. Poor customer service, this is my 1st very worst experience. I will definitely be not staying again. Very disappointed.

If you want a hotel experience, try another hotel. CONS. 1. Unprofessional Staff. Understaffed. When you ask for a plate or anything from calling it will take them 30 mins to an hour before they bring the item to you. Not Welcoming Receptionist and Guard. The receptionist doesn't even bother to greet you. I didn't receive any greetings from the Guard and the Receptionist from the time I checked in and out. The doorman/guard goes somewhere all the time and will leave you opening the front door of the hotel by yourself. When you're at the lobby, the receptionist will not even smile and ask for what you need, they will wait for you to speak before they respond. Very unprofessional. Housekeeping and Food Staff are Rude. One time I was waiting for their slow elevator, when it finally arrived, the crew cut the line in front of me and didn't bother asking if I was going up or down, he closed the elevator once he got in. I asked for spoon and a plate and the crew asked me for a 20 pesos fee. I was very surprised being I paid for their most expensive room. 2. Cheap Quality Items. The bed sheet keeps on getting removed from the foam. The pillowcases are yellowish, they're old. Their queen bed is just two single bed combined. Pathetic. They use a very cheap brand of toothpaste, brush, and shampoo. I paid for the best room but didn't have their best service. No ref. No heater. Disappointing. 3. Obstructed View. I thought I was gonna have a nice view but the view out the window is very obstructed. 4. False Promises. The pool is unavailable. The buffet is unavailable. Their free newspaper is unavailable. Very disappointing. PROS. 1. Walking distance to SM and Trinoma and Mercury Drug just a walk beside the Hotel. Convenient. 2. Breakfast is good. Tastes good, thankfully.

The bidet and telephone were not working. We cannot ask for help immediately. I requested for a queen sized bed, they assemble a two single bed that causes a gap in between when we move. The breakfast was bland and the coffee was too sweet. Nonetheless, there 's always a room for improvement.
