Your Travel Guide to Dagupan as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Dagupan from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

Traveling to Dagupan from Manila is most commonly done via bus, with numerous companies offering regular trips throughout the day. The journey typically takes around 4 to 6 hours, depending on traffic conditions and the specific route. Bus fares are generally budget-friendly, ranging from PHP 500 to PHP 800, making it an accessible option for many.

For those who prefer air travel, the nearest major airports are Clark International Airport (CRK) and Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila. From these airports, you would then need to take a bus or arrange private transport to Dagupan. Booking your book flight tickets in advance can often secure better rates, especially if you plan your trip during off-peak seasons.

Driving your own vehicle is also a viable option, offering flexibility and the ability to make stops along the way. The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) connect to the Tarlac–Pangasinan–La Union Expressway (TPLEX), which provides direct access to Dagupan. The drive from Metro Manila typically takes about 4 to 5 hours.

Best Time to Visit Dagupan

The ideal time to visit Dagupan generally falls during the dry season, which runs from November to April. During these months, you can expect sunny skies and lower chances of rain, making it perfect for outdoor activities and exploring the city's attractions. The weather is typically warm and pleasant, ideal for enjoying the local sights and the hotel's swimming pool.

The period between December and February is often considered the most comfortable, with slightly cooler temperatures compared to the hotter months of March and April. This is also a popular time for local festivals and holidays, which can add an extra layer of cultural experience to your trip. However, be aware that this can also be a peak travel season, so booking accommodations and transport in advance is recommended.

The wet season, from May to October, brings with it higher humidity and the possibility of typhoons, especially from July to September. While you might find fewer crowds and potentially lower prices during this time, it's essential to be prepared for potential disruptions to travel plans due to inclement weather. If you don't mind occasional rain showers, visiting during the shoulder months of May or October can offer a good balance.

This sweet treat offers a delightful smoky aroma and a chewy texture, making it a perfect snack or dessert. Look for vendors selling tupig, especially during local markets or festivals, for an authentic taste.

It's clean and the aircon works well. The receptionist are nice to talk with and courteous as well. Except for the billing issue that gets in the way but eventually ironed out in the end. I'll still stay in the place in case I visit again the Dagupan City.

Kudos to all the staff for the warm welcome when we arrived to the hotel. From the guard, front desk especially to Ms. Yolly for her immediate reply in all my inquiries, to Ms. Michelle for the nice accommodation. The room was nice, very spacious for my family (but sana I sound proof kasi near highway) toiletries was complete, linens, pillows and towels smells good, bathroom was also clean, no molds found, but you had to wait for the water before it gets hot. I experienced back pain after the first night, maybe I was not comfortable with the foam of the bed (medyo matigas). Aircon needs a maintenance. Swimming pool for kids needs a cleaning, the water smells stinky, no/low chlorine. Though the hotel do not offer meals, there's a nearby restaurants (tried Rubi's, Pedrito's and chef distrito). Thanks Hotel Le Duc, for the nice staycation.
