Dirty water, toiletries and towels.
The theme rooms, heaven inspired lobby area was nice. Plus the women behind the front desk wearing angel costumes plus wings gave off a casual feeling during interaction. Service was fast and they were easy to talk to. Though i'm bothered by the water that runs out of the tap from their bathrooms and the sanitation going on around the area. TAP WATER FROM THE BATHROOM. When we used the tub the night we checked in, water was fine and clear. But by the next morning when we wanted to use the tub again, halfway up from filling it up we were surprised by how yellow-brown the water was, so we skipped the tub and drained the water. When the water dried up a few moments after we noticed dirt left from the evaporated water in the tub. We were convinced that the water there isn't fit for cleansing the body with or even gargling with while brushing your teeth. Water must be recycled or something. DIRTY TOILETRIES. Plus the towels were dirty with stains. Dirty white towels with brown stains on them. That was the first thing we noticed when we checked around our room. Towels smelled musty and soiled, we ended up using wet wipes to clean ourselves up instead. The toothbrushes bristles they gave away looks like they're made up of clear nylon strings or something, they get plucked out easily when you brush with them. Not what usual toothbrushes should look and feel like. We had our doubts about the cleanliness of the sheets we slept on as well. They smelled like they needed a descent washing. We feel hesitant about booking in at Hotel Paradis again. Despite how much we love how quirky the place is we are really hoping that issue could be fixed.

The hotel is staffed by very corteous and very helpful people. The room I stayed is very clean except there is no tissue paper inside the toilet and you won't be provided any. You are encouraged the use of water to clean yourself after pooping. The hot water though is very good. Hotel location is very accessible to public transportation, restaurants, (Chowking, about 3 bldgs away, operates 24 hours) shopping and churches. Sta Cruz church is a few steps away and Quiapo church is just a few blocks but within walking distance. Wi-fi system is great but you have to log-in everytime to have access. The cost is reasonable at 1,200 per night but 1,000 pesos is, I think, the appropriate rate. Overall, it met my expectations based upon what I needed to do. It's close to Divisoria, one jeepney ride to SM behind City Hall of Manila, Carriedo and underneath the Quezon bridge where you can find rattan products.

Hotel Paradis, my experience
Location is near Chinatown and is good if you want to explore the Ongpin/Binondo area. The lobby is very clean and spacious. The staff front desk staff are courteous. Some repairs are being made at being made at some parts of the hotel but nevertheless doesn't make any noise. I got a Thematic Room Room 118 (1,200+ PhP for 24 hours) which comes with free breakfast and wifi access. Calling the front desk for the username and password is a breeze. Unfortunately, I got a room where the magnetic door, air conditioning system and some of the lights are not really working well. I guess checking out the room first could be an option if the facilities are functioning. Room and food service are very efficient and ready to be of service. Rooms, bathroom and towels need more scent/fresheners because they tend to smell a little damp and moldy even though they are dry.

Not suitable for family ..
I was travelling with a friend, arrived manila airport at 10pm, booked the room online, the location was at chinatown, not so safe at night, when we arrive at the hotel, we can see that it,s a place for locals to spend few hours over there with their partner. The room was clean and the service was fast, but it's noisy because people constantly checking in and out. The internet price is higher then walk in price. So not suitable for family or even single female travellers.
