Quite old for a modern Iloilo City
I had a seminar in this hotel and i thought that this place needs improvement in their facilities and equipment. Although, its customer service, location and foods are quite good enough, the hotel is quite old in terms of modern standards (structure, interior designs, amenities). Needs to be refurbished i guess.

Not grand at all
Well, obviously it doesnt stand by its name, it is not grand at all not in anyway, it probably had its hey day. They have free breakfast by the way, but even the coffee is bad, i wasnt able to drink it. I never tried the food except the breakfast, which by the way is not good either. Rooms, lobby and evrything in it seem old even the cutleries i think. But as they say, you only get what you paid for. Its affordable, with limited toiletries, limited electrical outlets to charge your gadgets, but at least they courteous staff.

Fair at best
Probably the best thing about this hotel is that it is located in the center of town. The next best thing might be its affordable rates. The food in its restaurant is also above average. The front desk staff is also very accommodating. Some general upgrading would be best though. I am not sure how old the hotel is but even if it is already old, it can attempt to live true to its name at being a "grand" hotel. My wife and I availed of its spa in the second floor. Received good service there. Fair enough for an overnight stay, after having spent a couple of days in nearby Guimaras island.

No Longer Grand, More Like Serviceable
We decided to spend the night in Iloilo for our early next day 2go ship voyage and tried IGH. -price: booked a day before on travelbook-- I typed: for 4 but what was eventually submitted was for 3... amounting to 1,9sumthing or +/- 2k + very near the port where 2go vessels dock + in the city proper + cheap: good for a place to crash for a short time + a/c unit room 301 very cool if a bit noisy + room is very big-- see pic - name "grand" mightve been valid maybe circa 80s 70s or 60s -- maybe there was a rennovation effort since the hotel was built but now-- definitely past any grandeur the name harks to... +/- not a tiny hotel by any means but i think there were very few guests (IGH had a deserted feel to it) when we were checked in... (Good Friday-Black Saturday) - only 2 towels and generic "dental" kits were provided (I guess we could ask the front desk for more-- but then again-- why should we have to ask when there were 3 of us registered guests? - restaurant was closed already by 9pm when I tried to to place an order (dunno if this is their regular closing time or only due to the holidays) - no complimentary slippers - dusty/maalikabok: my sneezameter nose registered 4 successive sneezes when i got under the blankets - toilet fixtures are quite old, there's no bidet but a pail and dipper can be requested - very basic compli breakfast served in 15 minutes more or less at the ground floor resto: i chose beef tapa, sunny side up eggs, garlic rice and hot choco... - sanitation issue: spied a baby roach on another table at the resto (forgot to take a pic)

Huge Hotel
Hotel was really huge. It is located in the city proper neaby to some shops, fastfood, banks, convenience and market. I love their staffs very courteous, friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and acceptable though the hotel was old. Showers and aircon were functioning well. The hotel has also gym, spa and a restaurant. Their food were dellicious. I love it! Would definitely be staying in this hotel when I get back to Iloilo. Must recommend.
