If a late check-out isn't possible, you can typically store your luggage at the hotel after checking out, giving you more time to enjoy the city before heading to the airport or your next destination.

Your Travel Guide to Pasay as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Pasay from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

Pasay City is a major transportation hub, making it easily accessible from all corners of the Philippines. For travelers coming from other islands or distant provinces, flying into Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is the most common and efficient method. You can book flight tickets to NAIA from major cities like Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, and many others. Fares can vary significantly depending on the season and how far in advance you book, but budget airlines often offer competitive prices, with some routes starting from PHP 1,500 to PHP 3,000 for a round trip if booked early.

For those traveling from Luzon, particularly from Northern or Central Luzon, bus travel is a viable and economical option. Numerous bus companies operate routes that pass through or terminate in Pasay. The journey can range from a few hours to over ten hours, depending on your origin. Bus fares are generally affordable, typically ranging from PHP 500 to PHP 1,500 for a one-way ticket, making it a popular choice for many Filipino families and students.

Driving your own vehicle is also an option, especially for those coming from nearby provinces in Luzon. Pasay is well-connected by major expressways and highways. However, be prepared for potential traffic congestion, particularly during peak hours. Parking availability and fees should also be considered when planning your road trip to the city.

Best Time to Visit Pasay

Pasay City experiences a tropical climate, characterized by warm temperatures and distinct wet and dry seasons. The dry season, generally from November to April, is considered the most pleasant time to visit. During these months, you can expect sunny skies and lower humidity levels, making it ideal for outdoor activities, exploring attractions, and enjoying the city's offerings.

The peak tourist season typically falls between December and February, coinciding with the cooler months and holiday celebrations. While the weather is excellent, expect larger crowds and potentially higher accommodation prices. For a balance of good weather and fewer crowds, consider visiting during the shoulder months of November or March to April.

The wet season runs from May to October, bringing with it higher humidity and frequent rainfall. While occasional downpours can occur, they are often short-lived, and you can still enjoy your trip by planning indoor activities or visiting attractions that are less affected by the rain. Traveling during the wet season can also mean finding more affordable deals on flights and accommodations, making it a good option for budget-conscious travelers.

Food and Dining Near Pasay — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

Pasay, like the rest of Metro Manila, is a culinary melting pot offering a vast array of delicious Filipino dishes. When you're in the area, make sure to try Adobo, the unofficial national dish. Whether it's chicken or pork, simmered in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and peppercorns, its savory and tangy flavor is a true taste of home. You can find excellent Adobo in local eateries and even in some of the restaurants within Resorts World Manila.

Another must-try is Sinigang, a sour and savory soup, typically made with tamarind broth and your choice of meat like pork, beef, or fish, along with a variety of vegetables. Its comforting and distinct sourness is perfect for a hearty meal. Look for it in carinderias or Filipino restaurants for an authentic experience.

For those who enjoy grilled specialties, Lechon Kawali is a delightful option. This crispy fried pork belly is a crowd-pleaser, with its crunchy exterior and tender, juicy meat. It's often served with a side of soy-vinegar dipping sauce. You'll find this popular dish in many Filipino dining establishments across Pasay.

Don't leave Pasay without trying Halo-Halo for dessert. This iconic Filipino treat is a delightful mix of shaved ice, milk, sweet beans, fruits, jellies, leche flan, and ube ice cream. It's the perfect refreshing end to any meal, especially on a warm day. Many local dessert shops and restaurants offer their own unique versions of this beloved cooler.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for Pasay

Filipino culture is known for its warmth and hospitality. When interacting with locals in Pasay, a friendly demeanor and a smile go a long way. It's customary to show respect to elders, and using polite terms like "po" and "opo" is appreciated. While Pasay is generally safe, especially in well-trafficked tourist areas, it's always wise to be aware of your surroundings, particularly in crowded places.

Keep your valuables secure and be mindful of pickpockets. It's advisable to avoid displaying expensive items openly. For emergencies, the national emergency hotline is 911. Having the contact numbers for your embassy or consulate can also be helpful for international travelers. Familiarize yourself with the general layout of the areas you plan to visit to avoid getting lost.

To enhance your travel experience in Pasay, consider downloading a few essential apps. A reliable navigation app like Google Maps is indispensable for getting around the city. Ride-sharing apps such as Grab are widely used and offer a convenient and often more affordable alternative to taxis. For communication, messaging apps like WhatsApp or Viber are popular among Filipinos.

The apartment is lovely & very very close to NAIA Terminal 3 for an early or late Cebu Pacific flight. The disappointment for me was that it's not a hotel or even a guest house, nobody was expecting me and I had to find correct apartment block & then ask around thinking I'd been ripped off for about 20 minutes then wait around another 20 minutes for a caretaker to let me in. She said she had no idea who owned the apartment, I don't know how she confirmed I was a legitimate guest. It was late & I was tired so honestly I wouldn't do this again, as I'd like someone to have some idea what's going on when I arrive at an apartment block with my confirmation number etc. I thought was a hotel/guesthouse. Airbnb I know the deal, this was misleading in my view. Wifi wasn't working. SSID & Password were hidden in a drawer but even then they were incorrect. Nobody to ask or contact as caretaker lady wasn't informed of anything.

Was disappointed on advertising online about having kitchenette that we’re not supposed to used it. So I had to complain about it in order for to able to used the stove.then the bottom cabinet was lock because they stuff inside the cabinet that should’ve of not be there in the first place that will cost a fire. I was scared the thought that place is on fire when I saw smoke coming out the under the stove cabinet and we can’t open it. We have to go downstairs to get the security. They send people upstairs but they say that they are not responsible to open the cabinet. It’s really crazy...

Once I found the location, checking in took a while, but once I was in the room was nice. Cold AC, and everything necessary to cook food yourself. The price is fair and you can walk directly to terminal 3 and go.

A super cheat motel is better than this place. We have to go on a treasure hunt to find which building to check-in. The guards are super dumb and know nothing. This whole business operation is bad. This lady gives Expedia a super bad name. The only good thing was the rooms was nice and fully loaded. But good luck getting to the room. We walked all over the place and the guards told us it was a building down the street. I had two small kids with me. I will never use this fake company ever again. This is my first time writing a review and I don’t like writing reviews but I had to all y’all about this lady and her shady business. Just save up a few more dollars and go to the Marriott, it’s like 50 feet away from this place. The Marriott treats you much better.

Very convenient stay when arriving or departing from Terminal 3 at Manila Airport. When arriving the second bed which we reserved in Advance was not ready, however after requesting some additional linens, they were delivered immediately.
