Amazing anniversary destination
A very late review! We came here June 16 for our first anniversary. Couldn't have chosen are more unique destination. With the island being so quiet, with hardly any locals, there are long stretches of private white sandy beaches... Friendly locals, and lots to explore. The facilities are as basic as they come, but we didn't expect anything different... But the food was incredible, with local caught fish and meat on the menu every day. The biggest plus point... The snorkeling! Such amazing corals spread out the shallows before a sheer drop to the ocean floor. On our anniversary night the owners went above and beyond to set us up a private table on the beach, decorated amazingly, and a special menu just for us... Really appreciated! It won't be forgotten.

one of my favourites in Bohol
I have stayed a few times in one of Mesiang´s and Junior´s cottages over the past years, and think that this is a perfect island escape to unwind and just relax. The coral reef is beautiful, the food is great and the people are lovely. A truly authentic experience:D

paradise for those who look for the real life experience of the locals
I stayed in this place twice and left just a couple of days ago. We stayed in a roomy beach front cottage. The public beach where the cottages are located is excellent for swimming and the coral reef nearby is also very nice. You can take a guide who paddle you to the fish scantuary where snorkeling can be better. Don't forget to join the early morning trip to look for dolphin. It's so amazing to see dolphin trying to swim ahead of your pump boat. Foods provided are, despite limited in supplies of everything in this island, tasty and sufficient in amount. You won't be starved. As anything have to be brought from Baclayon, the higher prices there are - "understandable". The reason for going to pamilacan is its still surviving natural beauty and quiet peaceful environment. Go there before it fades away. P.S. A group of travellers from cebu recommended Anda as another interesting site for visit. I know the beach there is larger, but not too impressive for philippino standard. Palawan is far better.

Highlight of our trip to the Philippines
We were lucky enough to turn up at Baclayon pier having booked nothing and bump into Junior who invited us on to his boat and to their accommodation on the island. We stayed for 3 nights before unfortunately we had to leave earlier than anticipated due to an incoming storm (it was either leave immediately or be stuck indefinitely due to the coastguard not allowing any boats to/from the island). We would have loved to have stayed longer to enjoy the amazing snorkeling that can be done just off the beach and the dolphin/whale watching tours, however with only a few weeks in the Philippines we had more places to visit. As it was the weather wasn't good enough for any of these activities but it was still a beautiful place to relax for a few days, explore the island and meet the locals. The food provided by Misyoung (3 meals a day included in price) was amazing and we never went hungry! We will definitely go back again and would have no hesitation in staying with Junior and Misyoung. Thanks again!

Seeing the dolphins swimming was truly amazing! The water was so clear and there were different fishes and starfishes near the shore. The seafood was fresh and delicious. Try the fresh sea urchin and calamares!
