If you want a serene, nice and comfortable place, I would highly recommend La Vida Hostel. The breakfast is superb 😍 We hadn't take any pictures because we enjoy our stay and treasure each passing time.

If you want a serene, nice and comfortable place, I would highly recommend La Vida Hostel. The breakfast is superb 😍 We hadn't take any pictures because we enjoy our stay and treasure each passing time.

Great place to stay. Very quiet, friendly owner and staff. Thanks to our tour guide kuya noel who live near. Very recommended for family visiting samal :)

Receptionist especially in the evening shift is accommodating. Continental breakfast should be detailed in the description when booking.

Bangoy street (infront of UM Technical School), take P50/person Island Express bus ride(bus will cross the island via ferry boat) to Penaplata Central Warehaus Terminal. Last bus trip is 7pm, you can take the ferry by yourself after. -From CENTRAL WAREHAUS TERMINAL in Samal, take P20/person tricycle or motorbike (about 10 minutes) to La Vida Orchard Samal in Barangay Catagman. ***From CAMP HOLIDAY (FERRY TERMINAL in SAMAL) (estimate 15min motorcycle ride) -From Camp Holiday resort, take P50/person motorbike/tricycle to La Vida in Brgy Catagman via Limao road. -Or take P25 bus(30min) to Penaplata Central Warehaus Terminal, then take P20/person tricycle/motorbike to La Vida Orchard Samal in Brgy Catagman (10 min). ***From DAVAO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (estimate 45min-1hr travel time) Take taxi (about P100) to the Davao-Samal Ferry Boat landing at Km. 11 Sasa,Davao City. Take the Island Express bus (P50-bus ride will cross the island by ferry) to Penaplata Central Warehaus Terminal in Samal. ***From CENTRAL WAREHAUS TERMINAL in Samal, take P20/person tricycle/motorbike (about 10 minutes) to La Vida Orchard Samal in Barangay Catagman. (If bus is not yet available at Ferry Terminal you may cross the island via Ferryboat P10 per pax. Then follow directions From Camp Holiday.) ***Travelling BY CAR/OWN TRANSPORT -From Km.11 Sasa Ferry Terminal in Davao City, take the ferry ride to Samal Island about P200 one-way. After reaching FERRY TERMINAL in SAMAL, you will see Phoenix gas station at the exit road. Take the right road, La Vida Orchard Samal in Brgy Catagman is about 15min from the Ferry.

Hotel Description
La Vida Orchard is a homey Bed and Breakfast located in the heart of the beautiful island of Samal. The colorful property is perfect for travellers who want to experience the best of the island, and live like a local. If you’re tired of the city noise, and looking for a change of scenery, this cozy Bed and Breakfast is just the place for you.
Each colorful room at La Vida Orchard comes complete with air conditioning, comfortable beds, and en suite bathroom with shower, bathtub and free toiletries. For solo travellers, there are shared dormitory rooms as well as private rooms available. The Bed and Breakfast can also accommodate large groups and families in their Quadruple, Deluxe and Family rooms. Some rooms feature a balcony and a patio.
The property’s quaint mismatched furniture, shared spaces, and free-for-all vibe will remind you of a hostel where all guests are encouraged to make friends. However, unlike the typical hostel, La Vida Orchard has private areas for guests who want to keep to themselves.
La Vida Orchard also features a kitchen where guests are free to cook their own food, a dining area, pavilion, open tent/smoking area, gazebo, and reception area.
Free WiFi is available in the common areas, and bike rental is available on the property.
La Vida Orchard is just a two minute walk to the beach and is 15 minutes to the Samal city center. Davao City is around eight kilometers away. Guests can easily get to Davao via the ferry which is only 15 minutes away from the compound. Francisco Bangoy International airport is eight kilometers away.
