Run by a sincere and welcoming couple. Made a last minute booking because the Bohol tour I was interested in didn’t run ( no one else signed up, bomber! ). However upon arriving at Laguno B&B, I was given detailed orientation of what’s available around Moalboal. Even though Laguno is not right on famous beaches, they arranged a ride for me, there is a nice pier and a market nearby, and it has a great advantage of being very close to bus stops if you are interested in visiting Kawasan Falls like me, or moving on to other destinations from Moalboal. Good breakfast for the price you pay. After coming back from Kawasan Falls, they even let me use the facility of my room that I had already checked out. Thanks for taking good care of me! I wholeheartedly recommend Laguno for budget conscious travelers!!

For travelers coming from Manila or other major Philippine cities, reaching Moalboal typically involves a flight to Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB). Airlines like Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines offer frequent flights, with travel times around 1 hour and 15 minutes. Fares can vary significantly, so booking in advance through platforms like Traveloka can help you secure more affordable rates. From the airport, you'll need to get to the Cebu South Bus Terminal.

Once at the Cebu South Bus Terminal, look for buses heading towards Moalboal. Ceres Liner is a common bus company operating this route. Bus fares are generally budget-friendly, making this a cost-effective way to complete your journey. You can often find schedules and book your book flight and bus tickets conveniently.

Alternatively, for those who prefer a more direct and comfortable transfer, private van services and taxis are available from Mactan-Cebu International Airport directly to Moalboal. While this option is more expensive than the bus, it significantly reduces travel time and offers door-to-door convenience, which can be appealing after a long flight. This is a good option for families or groups traveling together.

Best Time to Visit Moalboal

Moalboal enjoys a tropical climate year-round, making it a destination accessible for most of the year. The dry season, generally from November to May, is considered the peak tourist period. During these months, you can expect sunny days with lower humidity, which is ideal for outdoor activities like snorkeling, diving, and island hopping. The seas are typically calmer, offering excellent visibility for underwater exploration.

The wet season runs from June to October, characterized by higher rainfall and increased humidity. While there might be occasional downpours, these are often short-lived, and you can still enjoy plenty of sunshine. Traveling during the shoulder months, such as May or October, can offer a good balance of favorable weather and fewer crowds. This period might also present slightly lower accommodation prices, making it a smart choice for value-conscious travelers.

For Filipino travelers looking to experience Moalboal's famous sardine runs, these small fish are present year-round, but visibility for diving and snorkeling is generally best during the drier months. However, the marine life is abundant regardless of the season. Ultimately, Moalboal is a destination that can be enjoyed at any time, with each season offering its unique charm and opportunities for adventure.

The owners were super friendly. Couldn’t have done enough for us, recommended a great dive school and gave brilliant advice for forward travel across Cebu. Thanks for a great stay.
