Lelita Hotel is situated at 1770 Evangelista Street, Bangkal, Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines, 1233. This address places it within a neighborhood that offers a blend of residential calm and urban accessibility, identified as being near recreation spots. For those arriving by air, Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 is approximately 2.91 kilometers away. This relatively short distance means that upon landing, you can reach the hotel without an excessively long or costly transfer, making it a convenient starting point for your Metro Manila journey.

Getting to the hotel from NAIA can be managed through various transport options. For travelers looking to plan their onward journeys, it’s always advisable to book your flight in advance, especially during peak travel seasons, to secure the best rates and ensure a smooth arrival into the capital.

The Bangkal area itself offers a glimpse into local life, with smaller shops and eateries dotting the streets. While not in the immediate vicinity of Makati’s most famous commercial hubs, its location provides a slightly more laid-back atmosphere compared to the central business district. This positioning allows for a different perspective on city living, and for those who appreciate being slightly removed from the intense pace, it can be a welcome characteristic. Your Travel Guide to Makati as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Makati from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For convenient booking, book flight tickets through Traveloka and compare fares across major airlines.

For travelers coming from other parts of the Philippines, flying into Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is the most common and efficient method. Major airlines operate frequent flights from key cities like Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, and Cagayan de Oro to NAIA. Fares can vary significantly based on the season and how far in advance you book your flight, but budget airlines often offer competitive rates, with some flights starting from PHP 2,000 to PHP 5,000 for a round trip if booked early.

From NAIA, reaching Makati is straightforward. Taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available at the airport terminals. The journey to Lelita Hotel, for instance, would take approximately 15-30 minutes depending on traffic, with costs ranging from PHP 300 to PHP 500. Alternatively, you can opt for the airport bus services that connect to various points in Metro Manila, from where you can take a local taxi or jeepney to your final destination in Makati.

For those traveling from Luzon, particularly from Northern or Central Luzon, bus travel is a viable and economical option. Numerous bus companies operate routes to Metro Manila’s various terminals, such as Cubao or Pasay. From these terminals, you can then transfer to a jeepney, bus, or taxi heading towards Makati. While this mode of transport takes considerably longer than flying, it offers a more scenic and budget-friendly way to reach the capital for those who prefer land travel.

Best Time to Visit Makati

The Philippines experiences a tropical climate, and Makati is no exception. The best time to visit for most Filipino travelers, especially those who prefer drier weather, is during the cool northeast monsoon season, which typically runs from November to February. During these months, you can expect lower humidity levels and more comfortable temperatures, averaging around 24 to 30 degrees Celsius. This period is ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the city without the intense heat and frequent downpours.

The hot dry season follows from March to May, where temperatures can soar, and humidity increases significantly. While still a popular time for travel, especially around Holy Week, it can be quite warm for extensive sightseeing. The rainy season, from June to October, brings frequent rainfall, often in the form of heavy afternoon showers or typhoons. While this period might see fewer tourists and potentially lower accommodation prices, it can disrupt travel plans and limit outdoor activities. Therefore, the period from November to February generally offers the most pleasant weather for a visit.

Food and Dining Near Makati — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

No trip to Metro Manila is complete without indulging in classic Filipino comfort food. Adobo, a dish of meat (often chicken or pork) braised in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and peppercorns, is a national staple. Its savory and slightly tangy flavor profile is something every Filipino traveler should savor, and you can find excellent versions in local eateries around Makati.

Another must-try is Sinigang, a sour and savory soup, typically made with tamarind broth and a choice of meat or seafood, along with various vegetables like kangkong, radish, and tomatoes. The distinct sourness is incredibly refreshing, especially on a warm day. Many carinderias and restaurants in Makati will offer this hearty soup, perfect for a satisfying meal.

For those who enjoy grilled specialties, Lechon Kawali, deep-fried crispy pork belly, is a treat. The contrast between the crunchy exterior and tender, juicy interior, usually served with a dipping sauce of soy sauce and vinegar, is irresistible. It’s a popular dish for celebrations and casual dining alike.

Don't forget to try Pancit, a broad category of Filipino noodle dishes. Whether it’s Pancit Canton (stir-fried with soy sauce and mixed vegetables) or Pancit Palabok (rice noodles with a shrimp-based sauce and toppings), each variation offers a unique taste of Filipino culinary heritage. These dishes are widely available and offer a delicious glimpse into local flavors.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for Makati

Filipino culture is known for its warmth and hospitality. When interacting with locals in Makati, a friendly demeanor and polite greetings like "Magandang umaga/hapon/gabi" (Good morning/afternoon/evening) go a long way. Respect for elders and a generally relaxed approach to time are common, though in a business hub like Makati, punctuality is often expected in professional settings.

When it comes to safety, Makati is generally considered one of the safer cities in Metro Manila, especially in its commercial and business districts. However, like any urban area, it’s wise to remain aware of your surroundings. Avoid displaying expensive items openly, keep your belongings secure, and be cautious of petty theft, particularly in crowded areas or on public transport. It’s also advisable to use reputable taxi services or ride-sharing apps.

For emergencies, the local police hotline can be reached at 117. Having a reliable mobile network is essential, and most Filipino travelers will already have local SIM cards. To enhance your travel experience, consider downloading essential apps. Grab is indispensable for transportation and food delivery. Google Maps is crucial for navigation. For quick currency conversion or to check exchange rates, an app like XE Currency can be helpful. Lastly, a translation app can be useful if you encounter languages beyond Tagalog or English.

The room is so clean and comfortable for staying. It is so relaxing even it is within the city. One thing we have only noticed was the room is lack of small table and chairs. Overall it is very satisfying! 5 star for that.❤️
