Your Travel Guide to Panglao, Panglao Island as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Panglao, Panglao Island from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For convenient booking, book flight tickets through Traveloka and compare fares across major airlines.

For most Filipino travelers heading to Panglao, Panglao Island, the most convenient way is by air. Flights from Manila (MNL) to Bohol Panglao International Airport (TAG) are frequent. Airlines like Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific operate this route, with fares typically ranging from PHP 3,000 to PHP 7,000 for a round trip, depending on booking time and promotions. The flight duration is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.

If you prefer to travel by land and sea, it’s a longer but potentially more scenic journey. You can take a bus from major terminals in Metro Manila to various ports in Mindanao or the Visayas, then catch a ferry to Bohol. This option is significantly cheaper, with bus fares potentially around PHP 1,500-PHP 2,500 and ferry tickets varying widely. However, the total travel time can extend to over 24 hours, making it a choice for those with ample time.

Driving your own vehicle is also an option, involving ferry crossings from Luzon to Visayas and then to Bohol. This route requires careful planning regarding ferry schedules and costs, which can add up. It offers flexibility but is best suited for those who enjoy road trips and have the time to spare. Regardless of your chosen method, remember to book your flight or other transport in advance for the best rates.

Best Time to Visit Panglao, Panglao Island

The dry season, generally from November to May, is considered the best time to visit Panglao, Panglao Island. During these months, you can expect sunny skies and calm seas, perfect for beach activities, island hopping, and water sports. The period between December and February is particularly pleasant, with cooler temperatures and minimal rainfall, making it ideal for outdoor exploration.

However, this peak season also means higher prices for flights and accommodation, and more crowds at popular spots. If you’re looking for a more relaxed atmosphere and better deals, consider visiting during the shoulder months of November or May. The weather is still generally good, and you’ll encounter fewer tourists, allowing for a more serene experience of Bohol’s beauty.

The wet season runs from June to October, characterized by occasional heavy rainfall and potential typhoons. While you might find cheaper rates during this period, outdoor activities can be disrupted. However, even during the rainy season, there are often periods of sunshine, and the island’s lush greenery is at its most vibrant.

The property is secluded south of the main tourist area which has advantages and disadvantages. You are isolated with limited transportation and nothing in walking distance but the privacy and quiet is nice. We ate all meals at the hotel and thankfully the staff was great and the food was very good and inexpensive. The pool directly overlooks the beach which was small but nice.

Stayed here for 2 nights -what sells this place is the amazing, professional and friendly service from ALL the staff like Juan, Carlos, Al and Dempto and the ladies at the front desk. They are the glue in keeping this place well maintained and secured. Booked an apartment style room. It was well appointed, had 2 bedrooms, living room, dining room and kitchen (but you really could not cook any meals on it). It had large double beds -not too soft or too hard. Place was spacious for 4 adults. The large patio was a good place to relax in the lounge chairs and dry your wet clothes. A beautiful property with an onsite restaurant, outside bar and large pool w/ an ocean view. Yes - the beach is not good for swimming -which is why they have a pool. Property is pretty at night with all the lights on. The big disappointment and turn off was our bathroom -it had a rusty shower and faucet. Had to use slippers when we took a shower as it did not feel clean. Beautiful property but why could not they invest money to change their rusty shower and faucet?

For being a three star hotel, its good. The apartment style room was large but needed updating. The beds and pillows were hard and uncomfortable. We couldn’t contact the front desk by phone so we had to physically go down to request things. Their beach front is very small and its not a place where you can go in the water and swim. Their restaurant was awesome! Ordered Filipino food everytime and it was all delicious.

My wife and I had the best time on our vacation, the service was out of this world, the restaurant food was fantastic, so much to chose from , our stay was for one week and we ate like a King, never had a bad meal and our last night there we had fresh lobster for $17.00 and was a good size to, the hotel staff was the best, I will be returning there again next January.

The staff was amazing I really enjoyed our stay. Be aware that you cannot swim off the beach during low tide hours but you are only 150-200 peso trike ride from Alona beach. Restaurant was really good and good price.

The resort ok but the bathroom needs upgrades, the drainage need to clean in the shower . Outside the resort is dirty should clean the outside area before the main entrance .it’s not a good look for the visitors. The vendors on the beach area is very annoying .Too early in the morning they are there already to bug you can’t even do your walk .

Linaw beach resort is the perfect place to relax. It is secluded away from the crowded Alona but close enough to take a 15 trike ride to visit. The room is spacious, the restaurant is outstanding, the service is great. Lay out by the beach, take a dip in the pool..... food and drinks at your pleasure!!

We checked in early and even upgraded to an apartment style 2 bedroom. The service is phenomenal. The bar, pool, beach tables, hammocks, beach chairs are all yours. It is a quiet and relaxing environment with wifi everywhere for work or hotel reviews. The beef tapas breakfast is fantastic.

What a beautiful place on the beach. Staff was awesome and the gay was great. The shower didn’t have adequate hot water, kind of cold still on max setting, and the road into this place isn’t paved. Couple updates and this place will be even more amazing. Thanks
