Location and How to Get to Lio Villas Resort

Address and Getting There

Lio Villas Resort is situated at Villa Liberatd, Lio, El Nido, Palawan, Philippines, 5313. This location places you within the Lio area, known for its developing tourism infrastructure and proximity to key transport links and natural attractions. The neighborhood offers a sense of calm, providing a welcome respite from the more crowded parts of El Nido town proper, while still keeping you connected to the region's highlights. It’s a setting that allows for both relaxation and easy access to adventure.

For travelers arriving by air, El Nido Airport (ENI) is conveniently located just 1.26 kilometers away. This short distance means you can transition from your flight to your accommodation with minimal travel time, allowing you to start your vacation sooner. Taxis or tricycles are readily available at the airport to take you directly to the resort. Planning your trip in advance and considering to book flight tickets ahead of time can often secure better fares.

The resort's address in Lio positions it favorably for exploring the surrounding areas. While El Nido town proper is a short ride away, the immediate vicinity offers its own charm and accessibility. The proximity to El Nido Airport is a significant advantage, reducing transit stress upon arrival and departure. This makes Lio Villas Resort a practical choice for those who want to maximize their time enjoying Palawan's beauty rather than spending it on long commutes.

What's Around Lio Villas Resort — Nearby Attractions and Places

One of the most significant advantages of staying at Lio Villas Resort is its proximity to Lio Beach, located just 1.46 kilometers away. This beautiful stretch of sand is a popular spot for both locals and tourists, offering a relaxed atmosphere for swimming, sunbathing, or simply enjoying the picturesque views of the Bacuit Bay. A short tricycle ride or a leisurely walk can get you there, making it an easy destination for a morning stroll or an evening sunset viewing.

For those seeking a different coastal experience, Caalan Beach is situated approximately 3.20 kilometers from the resort. Caalan Beach is known for its calmer waters and offers a more laid-back vibe compared to some of the busier beaches. It's a great spot for kayaking or paddleboarding, and often serves as a departure point for some island-hopping tours. The journey there is short, allowing you to easily explore this charming part of El Nido's coastline.

While the resort is not directly in El Nido town proper, its location provides a good balance. You are close enough to access the main tour operators and restaurants, but far enough to enjoy a quieter stay. Consider planning your island hopping adventures in advance; you can often book attraction tours through local providers or directly from your accommodation, ensuring you take advantage of this on the iconic sites like the Big Lagoon and Small Lagoon.

The accessibility to El Nido Airport (ENI) is a key benefit for travelers. Being only 1.26 km away means that your arrival and departure will be smooth and efficient. This proximity is particularly valuable for those with early morning flights or late evening arrivals, reducing the stress often associated with airport transfers. It allows you to focus on enjoying your Palawan holiday from the moment you land.

Having your booking confirmation and a valid ID ready will help expedite the process.

This service allows you to leave your bags securely while you begin your El Nido exploration. The 24-hour front desk is there to assist with any immediate needs or questions you might have upon arrival, ensuring a smooth start to your stay.

Depending on occupancy, this may be possible for a fee, or you can utilize the luggage storage service to continue your day unburdened.

Your Travel Guide to El Nido as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to El Nido from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

The most convenient way to reach El Nido from Manila and other major Philippine cities is by air. Flights typically land at El Nido Airport (ENI), which is located a short distance from the town proper and Lio Villas Resort. Airlines like AirSWIFT operate direct flights from Manila (MNL) to ENI. Flight durations are approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Fares can vary significantly based on the season and how far in advance you book flight tickets, but expect prices to range from PHP 4,000 to PHP 8,000 for a round trip during peak season.

For a more budget-friendly option, you can fly into Puerto Princesa International Airport (PPS), which is Palawan's main gateway. From Puerto Princesa, you can take a van or bus to El Nido. This journey takes about 5 to 6 hours and typically costs between PHP 500 to PHP 800 for a one-way ticket. While this option is cheaper, it significantly increases your travel time. Ensure you book your onward transport from Puerto Princesa in advance, especially during busy periods.

Driving to El Nido is a considerable undertaking, primarily feasible if you are already in Palawan. The roads from Puerto Princesa to El Nido are mostly paved, but the journey is long, spanning over 200 kilometers. If you are coming from Luzon, you would need to take a ferry to Palawan, which is a multi-day trip. For most travelers from major Philippine cities, flying directly to El Nido or Puerto Princesa remains the most practical choice.

Best Time to Visit El Nido

The dry season, from November to May, is generally considered the best time to visit El Nido. During these months, you can expect sunny skies, calm seas, and minimal rainfall, which are ideal conditions for island hopping, swimming, and other water activities. The peak tourist season falls between December and April, so expect larger crowds and potentially higher prices for flights and accommodation during this period.

The shoulder months, such as November and May, can offer a good balance of favorable weather and fewer crowds. If you prefer a more tranquil experience and are looking for potentially better deals, these months are worth considering. The wet season, from June to October, brings a higher chance of rain and rougher seas, which can sometimes lead to tour cancellations. However, this period also sees fewer tourists and lower prices, and the landscape is exceptionally lush and green.

Food and Dining Near El Nido — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

No trip to the Philippines is complete without indulging in local cuisine, and El Nido offers plenty of opportunities to savor Filipino flavors. A must-try is Kinilaw, the Filipino version of ceviche. Fresh raw fish, usually tuna or tanigue, is marinated in vinegar, calamansi juice, onions, ginger, and chili peppers. It’s a refreshing appetizer that perfectly complements the tropical climate. You’ll find excellent Kinilaw in most local eateries and seafood restaurants.

Another staple you should seek out is La Paz Batchoy, a hearty noodle soup originating from Iloilo. While El Nido might not be its birthplace, many local carinderias and restaurants serve this comforting dish. It features a rich pork broth, noodles, pork cracklings, and often a raw egg stirred in. It’s a perfect meal for a cooler evening or after a long day of exploring.

Seafood is, of course, abundant and incredibly fresh in El Nido. Grilled fish, prawns, and squid are staples. Look for places that offer "paluto" services, where you can select your fresh catch from the market and have it cooked to your preference – grilled, steamed, or fried. This is a characteristic Filipino dining experience, allowing you to enjoy the ocean's bounty at its freshest. Many beachfront restaurants offer this service.

Don't forget to try Halo-Halo for dessert. This popular Filipino mixed-drink dessert is a delightful concoction of shaved ice, milk, sweet beans, fruits, jellies, leche flan, and ube ice cream. It’s the perfect way to cool down and satisfy your sweet tooth. You can find Halo-Halo at almost any local restaurant or snack bar, with variations in ingredients adding to its charm.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for El Nido

Filipinos are known for their hospitality, and El Nido is no exception. Locals are generally friendly and welcoming. It's polite to greet people with a smile and a simple "Magandang umaga" (Good morning), "Magandang hapon" (Good afternoon), or "Magandang gabi" (Good evening). Respecting local customs, such as dressing modestly when visiting churches or more traditional areas, is appreciated. Tipping is not mandatory but is always welcome for excellent service.

Safety in El Nido is generally good, but as with any travel destination, it's wise to take precautions. Keep your valuables secure and be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas. Avoid walking alone in poorly lit places late at night. For emergencies, the local police can be reached at [Insert local police number if available, otherwise omit or state general emergency number]. It's also a good idea to have the contact details for your accommodation readily accessible.

To enhance your travel experience, consider downloading a few essential apps. A reliable map application like Google Maps is crucial for navigation, especially if you plan to explore independently. For communication, messaging apps like WhatsApp or Viber are widely used in the Philippines. If you're looking to manage your bookings and find local deals, the Traveloka app is indispensable for booking flights, hotels, and activities. Having a currency converter app can also be helpful for managing your budget.

We absolutely loved our stay at Lio Villas! The staff were some of the best—super accommodating and genuinely welcoming. The pool and food were both amazing. If you’re looking for a peaceful spot away from the crowds, this is the perfect place. They offer motorcycle rentals and tours, and they’ll gladly arrange everything for you. We really appreciated how well they took care of us from start to finish.

I asked for a late checkout and was initially told it would be no problem as there was nobody booked after us, but alas apparently the manager had a problem with that. I was willing to overlook problems because of the late checkout, but now I will air my grievances. The AC unit upstairs was not working, and there was no phone so I could not report this. It was pouring rain and no umbrellas so I could not go to reception. No TV in room as advertised. WIFI was VERY slow or not working at all. There was no hot water for shower. No restaurant on sight. A stinky dog hanging around lobby area. The pool was nice and so was the gentleman working reception. Will not return.

I stayed here on August for a solo trip. The staff were very nice and accommodating. I also really loved the room that I stayed in as it was very spacious. The only concern that I had was not being given a discount when the management offered to give me one before I checked in due to the pool being not available. The reason why I booked the hotel despite the location was the pool. Would have appreciated the stay more if they processed the discount or partial refund as they promised but they didn't get back even after 3 months have gone by. Nevertheless, the best thing about the place were the staff.

The rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff, while mostly new, provided good service. However, the area was a bit inconvenient, since it was located off an unpaved road that you had to constantly rent a tricycle to get around the area. Since tric fare was a bit pricy, the costs added up. Plus, they did not have their own van to provide as transpo for guest to and from the airport.

The place is nice (nice bedrooms, nice pool) and staff are nice but there are son issues they need to address. They do not accept card payments or dollars. We are in the 21st century and this in not a cheap hotel, I don’t think this is acceptable at any descent hotel. How can be possible on this days that a quality hotel does not take card payments. Also we needed to change some reservations and they said the only have incoming calls not outgoing. Im talking about local calls. Hope they fix that as well. Also the hotel is on a very bumpy road and a little far from El Nido (It has a very nice beach close by though, Lio Beach) some times tuk tuks don’t want to take you there or they charge you more. I don’t think they can do much about it. I still believe this is a nice hotel, just hope they fix this issues. Just be aware if you decide to stay.

The place was very nice. The staff were super accomodating and very hospitable. The only issue was proximity. It was far from the town proper, appoximately 20 to 30 minutes away, and the tricycle fares were a little bit expensive (400 roundtrip). The road going to the hotel from the main road was a rough road (less than 10 minute rough road). There was a frog and a worm swimming in the pool at night. One hanger was broken and the phone wasnt working in our room. But overall, im still a happy customer.

Best hotel so far in the Philippines! Staff was lovely and very Accommodating. It’s quite far from the city but we just rented a scooter and were driving from hotel to town (so much fun!!) be careful the street is a little bumpy, but we looked forward for some adventure;) I would definitely recommend the hotel especially for couples and groups of friends maybe not the best place for single travelers however if you need some me time best place!!!

Misleading photos. Property very outdated and not in the best area. Staff and hospitality was great though I did not end up staying there but the staff had pleasure in assisting me in finding a much better hotel which was very much appreciated by them.
