Great potential, lazy staff
It looks OK when you arrive, with a big and clean pool in the middle of the "resort". The bamboo-room we got was big, with a big bed and a cold, yet well working shower. But right in front of the door, as we entered, plain sight, there was some garbage that the previous guest had left. The matress is ridicolous thin!! You can feel the wood right beneath it, so when you wake up you feel like after a fight. But at least the hotel is in a quiet area. We could also hear, cristal clear, every word and noise our neighbour would say in his room. Or make in his bathroom. It is cheaper if you book directly with them than if you do it through Agoda. Far away from the beach, but motorbike "taxis" pass along the entrance every minute. They do not offer food, but they have cold beer, and you can use their fridge and kitchen. Free wifi in the common area and pool, but our room was too far away from the router. As said, the place could deliver a much better experience with few, unexpensive fixes.

Guest house à eviter
Arrived sunset time, place looked ok from outside. After i goyt the key of my room, i realised how dirty was the room, still old cigarettes on the floor, apparently they made the bed but nothing else. especially the bathroom, shower was very dirty. Smell of the water was so bad that i prefered no shower. Bed was hawfull, three different matresses was very uncomfortableI wander why a swimmi g pool in a place like this. In the morning, noway to get a breakfast or even a cofee. So, you will find a lot better for 3 dollars more in the area.

Great price/value/location
Would highly recommend to any budget traveller/backpacker, for 600P it was great and better then we expected. A breezy room so the fan is plenty to keep cold- had to turn it off in the night. Pool is nice and clean, away from the noise, easy to rent motorcycles through the staff as well as organise tricycles etc. Our 600P room had a double bed and a single so could have slept 3 people comfortably and with enough spare space in the room for 200P each, even had its own toilet (be careful with flushing toilet paper it will get blocked). Staff were really helpful and friendly, shared kitchen is useful and good for meeting other people there. We walked the 15 min into Alona (lovely stroll) and usually tricycled back later at night. Cheap washing right across the road with a machine. Felt close to action but not too close which was good!

Awesome budget place with pool
This place probably has the cheapest room rate on the island without being anywhere near "cheap". For the fan rooms its only 600 pesos/night and the owner will even give you a discount if you stay longer. And there is a large swimming pool which is unusual for a budget place. There is a outside kitchen for the guests to use, this came in very handy for us as we wanted to save money on not going out to eat every day. Most people seems to complain about it being far from the beach, i dont agree, it took us about 4 minutes to get to the beach just stop a motorbike taxi outside the gate and they will drive you for 15 pesos. The owner will help you organize tours and motorbike rentals as well as other good to know tips. This is definitely a place to consider for every budget traveler.

Too far from the beach...
we stayed for three nights in a fan room. The room was fairly average and the service wasn't good. The resort wasn't close to the beach and for the price you could definitely stay closer to Alona beach. Moped hire was 400pesos a day. The pool was okay. Receptionist was friendly but speaks very limited English so impossible to get information. Mysterious owner appeared once.
