Our stay at Mango Suites was amazing. The front desk staff was the epitome of hospitality. They were totally amazing. The restaurant, although small, has a great selection of items and again, the hospitality was 10/10. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The only thing I would suggest is a second chair in the room. Tge security was also very good. If you go outside at night, they were always present. All in all, a great stay. Highly recommended as a place to stay.

Your Cauayan City Travel Guide

Getting to Cauayan City from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

The most efficient way to reach Cauayan City from Manila is by air. Several domestic airlines operate flights to Cauayan Airport (CYZ), with a travel time of approximately one hour. You can easily book flight tickets online to secure the best rates. Flying saves you significant time compared to land travel, which can take up to 10 hours or more depending on traffic.

If you prefer land travel, buses from Manila (specifically from terminals in Cubao or Sampaloc) offer daily trips to Cauayan. While the journey is long, it allows you to see the changing landscapes of Northern Luzon. It is a budget-friendly option for those who enjoy road trips and want to experience the countryside at a slower pace.

Once you arrive in the city, the local transport network is quite robust. Tricycles are the primary way to get around the city proper, while jeepneys connect the city to neighboring towns in Isabela. Always agree on the fare before starting your trip if the tricycle does not have a meter, though most local drivers are honest and follow standard rates.

Best Time to Visit Cauayan City

The best time to visit Cauayan City is during the dry season, which typically runs from November to April. During these months, the weather is more predictable, making it easier to explore outdoor attractions and travel between towns. The cooler temperatures in the early months of the year are particularly pleasant for walking around the city.

If you are interested in local culture, try to align your visit with the city’s festivals. These events are vibrant and showcase the local heritage through parades, street dancing, and food fairs. Keep in mind that peak travel seasons may result in higher demand for accommodation, so it is wise to plan your trip and secure your stay well in advance.

Food and Dining in Cauayan City — Filipino Must-Tries

When in Isabela, you must try the local Pancit Cabagan. This noodle dish is a staple in the region, characterized by its thick, savory sauce and generous toppings of pork, vegetables, and quail eggs. It is a hearty meal that reflects the local culinary tradition and is available in many eateries across the city.

Another local favorite is the Inatata, a traditional rice cake wrapped in banana leaves. It is often served as a snack or a side dish. You should also look for fresh river fish dishes, as the province is known for its abundant freshwater resources. These dishes are often prepared with simple, fresh ingredients that highlight the natural flavors of the region.

For dessert, try the local delicacies made from glutinous rice and coconut milk. These sweet treats are a common sight in local markets and are perfect for a quick energy boost. Exploring the local food scene is a great way to connect with the community and understand the daily life of the people in Cauayan City.

Don't forget to visit the local public market to see the variety of produce and snacks available. The market is the heart of the city’s food culture, where you can find everything from fresh fruits to traditional snacks. Engaging with local vendors is a friendly way to learn more about what makes Isabela’s cuisine unique.

Local Culture, Safety and Essential Apps in Cauayan City

The people of Cauayan City are known for their hospitality and warmth. When interacting with locals, a simple smile and a polite greeting go a long way. It is customary to be respectful of local traditions, especially when visiting religious sites like the Our Lady of the Pillar Parish Church. Always dress modestly when entering places of worship.

Safety in the city is generally good, but it is always wise to practice standard travel precautions. Keep your belongings secure in crowded areas and avoid walking alone in poorly lit streets at night. In case of an emergency, the national emergency hotline is 911. Familiarize yourself with the location of the nearest police station or hospital upon your arrival.

Essential apps for your trip include Google Maps for navigation and Traveloka for managing your bookings. Having a ride-hailing app or a local contact for a trusted tricycle driver can also make your movement around the city much easier. Ensure your phone is charged and you have a local SIM card with a data plan to stay connected throughout your visit.

Finally, keep a small amount of cash in small denominations, as many local shops and tricycle drivers may not have change for large bills. Being prepared with small change will make your transactions smoother and more convenient as you explore the city and its surrounding areas.

I had to check out after half an hour of check in, room is filthy, bathroom has mildew and when you flash the toilet big leak on the bottom. Windows behind the curtain were so dusty. When I walk in the room so there’s a mold smell and also musty and sticky. The door Matt was also looking dirty, I am not sure if it’s white color or yellowish because dirty. I would never recommend this hotel it is uncenetarry.
