Your Travel Guide to Lipa as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Lipa from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

Traveling to Lipa City from Manila is straightforward, with several convenient options for Filipino travelers. The most common method is by bus. Major bus companies like JAM Liner and Genesis Transport operate frequent trips from terminals in Metro Manila, such as Cubao, Pasay (Buendia), and Alabang, directly to Lipa City. The journey typically takes between 2 to 3 hours, with fares ranging from PHP 200 to PHP 350, depending on the bus company and type of service.

For those who prefer to fly, the nearest international airport is Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila. From NAIA, you can take a taxi or a bus to one of the major bus terminals to catch your onward journey to Lipa. While there are no direct flights to Lipa, you can also book flight tickets to other nearby airports if you plan a multi-city trip, but for direct access to Lipa, buses remain the most practical choice.

Driving your own vehicle is another viable option. Lipa City is accessible via the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR Tollway). The peak tourist season usually coincides with the dry months, especially around holidays like Christmas and Holy Week, when many Filipinos travel. For a more relaxed visit with fewer crowds and potentially better hotel rates, consider visiting during the shoulder months of the dry season, such as November or February. The wet season, while bringing occasional rain showers, can also be a good time to visit if you don't mind the possibility of intermittent downpours, as attractions are often less crowded.

There’s no lift/ elevator, yet my room is in the 3rd flr. There’s lot of small cockroaches inside the room. It seems they never put any insecticide or make any pest control. I booked for twin de luxe room and they gave me de luxe room (not knowing and forgot already about my booking details). I already slept and the next morning they called me for their mistake. They asked me if I can change into my real booking which is twin de luxe room. I refused because I’m going to check out anytime sooner. Instead, I asked for a refund but they said it’s non-refundable (the hotel staffs looks very wise, huh). It will be my first and last check in. And my worst hotel that I ever had. NOT RECOMMENDED!

Hotel is situated in a very busy local market place. Be aware that the hotel does not have a lift, so you'll be walking up and down stairs a lot. The staff are less than welcoming, and the policy of having to return your room key to the front desk every time you leave the hotel is irritating. Would I stay here again? Probably not - i would search for a friendlier hotel which treated their guests as guests and not children.

No signal, slow internet speed. But the hotel is clean. Looks like a motel.
