Superb...great experience ...

It was a great stay at misibis. Sir arjay, the front office manager, he upgraded our room into Villa (which is beach front). Big thanks to him for making our vacation special. And to ms shiela of front office as well, for arranging our sunrise breakfast. It was a romantic breakfast on top of the hill. And also a big thanks to jake, clayre and albert of spicy market for entertaining and taking care of us during our dining and for assisting us in our needs. Thank you everyone! It was a great stay and highly recommended! A five star resort with a five star service! Kudos!

It was a great experience. Beautiful place. The dinner buffet can be improved, we were expecting a little more variety on the food. Overall experience was great. The staff gave a 5 star service.

Service has gone down
We first stayed in Misibis Bay back in December 2012 and we really enjoyed that stay. Our visit from Oct 31 to Nov 2 was quite different. No more welcome dance... The reception area had a lot of leaks. It was raining heavily when we checked in... It took housekeeping almost an hour to change the size of a pair of slippers we were provided. The next night, no one was answering the call to housekeeping... Bath toiletries have become generic. They used to have Acca Kappa toiletries... They seem to have plumbing issues now. Toilet kept on having problems with flushing and no water at certain sections of the resort... Food quality and service has gone down. For the halloween dinner buffet, the grilled food was dry and the desserts tasted bland. We asked for hot chocolate on breakfast the next day and it never came. Plates ran out and dood crew weren't attentive... Litter has washed away on the beach. You can see plastic bottles and wrappers on the shore. Not sure if that was just because of the heavy downpour but they could have cleaned up the beach if they had proper maintenance... The kiddie play area doesn't look as fun anymore. Gone are the little balls we had fun playing with... The chlorine in the pool was overpowering. We decided to just swim in the sea waters... They do have the new section of Pacific View rooms but feels like the bath area is an accident waiting to happen. You can twist your ankle if you misstep into that area, especially when the lights are down. Not worth the price anymore. Hope they make their service better.

Wonderful place..wonderful service!
I was still in college when I visited this resort and 4 years later and several local and foreign trips after, I still couldn't forget how nice our experience of staying there was. From- and to- the airport, you are well taken cared of by the hotel's transfer service. We went here for a christmas holiday but the place was not as crowded as we expected. The rooms were very spacious and comfy..and the food..the food was just..incredible. There were lots of variety to choose from and the taste was amazing too. Don't miss the christmas dinner if you're going there this december! Honestly, one reason why I cant seem to forget it is because of the food haha. They had a variety of activities which the family could enjoy--Kayak, ATV, Hobie cat, etc. But I think its the friendliness and the hospitality of the staff which made it worth it. I very much look forward to going back there.

Could be better, but worth a visit
We visited Misibis Bay as the highlight to our quick 4 day Legaspi visit. Its about an hours drive from Legaspi via winding roads and beautiful scenery. We truly enjoyed the drive to and from the hotel. Pros: 1. The room. The rooms in Misibis bay are the utmost highlight of the hotel and the trip. It is a honey moons delight. Wonderful clean room ( we got the sea view rooms, 222 and 232 for me, my wife, my parents and kids) Each room had 2 double sized beds, a 40+ inch TV with great selection of channels, a view of the beach front, cold cold aircon. A shower area, and toilet and a bath tub that is in the bedroom area. 2. The snorkeling area. I found out at the last minute that there is a snorkeling area that is on the far side of the resort. Since we were packing to go home, i made a quick run for it, took a quick dip and was not disappointed. Nothing wow, the same aquarium fish you would expect in high volume clear waters and good corral. The guide said there is an 8kg snapper that hides in the rocks, but didn't show for me. The beach front area, with all the water sports has good clear water and no waves since its a man made cove which is perfect for kids as no waves to worry about. But the water is also quite silty there are few fish and no coral to speak off. You have to go to the diving area to see the real fishies. 3. Ambiance of the place. Its definitely a fine resort. Good beach front, fancy dining area, 3 sets of pools, your choice of water sport activities (banana boat, jet ski, paddle boats etc...) Cons: 1. Service: It just doesn't have that level of service of a 5 star... the staff are slow and almost everything on the menu is not available. They had a promo for buy 1 take 1 pizza and ran out. The laing on the menu ran out. The lamb leg also ran out. It took anywhere from 45 mins to an hour to get the food served. We had one story where we asked the waiter for the pizza, and he had to run back to the kitchen to ask the price, just to come back and say that its not available. For dinner, we waited almost 2 hours to get a seat at the resto from 6pm and finally got a seat just before 8pm, by that time we were famished. Pitty the kare kare was not available. 2. Food quality. We didn't go for the buffet (P750 for breakfast - not included in the room charge, P850 for dinner or lunch buffet.) a) we were on a budget b) the food choices were not wow. The set menu ranged from P500 to P800 per order, which was good for sharing. We tried the laing, lamb, pakbet with bagnet... all were decent, but nothing was wow. The breakfast P450 for american breakfast, P500 for pinoy breakfast. They definitely charged at a 5 star rate. We ate, lunch, dinner and breakfast and by the end of the one day, ate most of what was on the menu. 3. Cleanliness. When we were there, the main pool near the dining area was green. They were fixing it, but it was just not a pretty sight, especially in the main area. The pool near the rooms did not have a working shower area. 4. No elevator. we were on the 3rd floor and carrying the bags up and down was a hassle. The parking area was also far from the rooms beach. although there is a shuttle that goes around, its usually from the hotel lobby to the parking area. 5. The bathtub in the room made a mess... ok ok, so this was our fault since the kids played in the bath tub, but it did a leave a mess there. Summary: Its still worth a visit. I'm a budget traveler and am always on the look out for a bang for my buck and in this regard Misibis just didn't cut it. Food was pricey but just not wow. Service was poor, slow and they just seemed understaffed. The views were amazing, the room fabulous, but I wouldn't stay here for more than a night, especially with my family. Maybe as a honeymoon, its more suited to that. Again its worth a visit, just temper your expectations. For the price you pay, I would expect more.

Could be much better
From the airport, you need to take an hour van ride to the resort. Expect registration alone to take about 30mins. Not only do they process check-in, they are the concierge as well. So between checking in guests, they orient guests as well therefore making the whole process longer than needed. Food and beverage service is slow, especially on weekends. We were so thankful to our server, Kevin, who attended to our needs and made things easier for us. Recommend you order, take a swim, then eat. The rooms are larger than usual, altho starting to show wear and tear. Water pressure was weak at times, hot water wasn't available at times. Walls aren't sound proof so we could hear the people in the other room. The equipment in the water sports facilities were well maintained. Overall, an ok experience. It would be a place I'd think of visiting more than once if they fix the issues with check-in, food service, and room facilities. You could see staff trying their best but it seems the systems in place prevent the property from operating smoothly.

All worth it
Before anything else, I'd like to commend the staff in Misibis for being super nice, honest and helpful. We were already in Legaspi when I realized I left my wallet in the drawer of the villa we stayed at. After calling the reception, Aya who were quick to respond told me that their housekeeping staff tried to catch us as soon as they found my wallet after we checked out. Unfortunately, our shuttle already left, and so they decided to have the other shuttle drive all the way to legaspi airport and have their driver personally bring me my wallet. I also appreciate how quick they responded knowing I have a flight to catch in an hour, they made sure i get my wallet back just in time for my flight check in. Long story short, when we arrived at the airport, kuya driver was already there waiting for me with my wallet on his hand. I checked it and counted the money and it was all there. For me this is already a big win that they value their customer even after the stay. The service just doesn't end after someone checks out from their resort. So, thanks again Aya!!! Couldn't express enough the relief I felt after you said that the driver was on his way to bring me my wallet :) Secondly, what made this trip even more memorable for me were the sweet treats they provided. We availed their Sweet Sunset package that included private dinner by the beach, cocktails at some private mountain peak overlooking Mt. Mayon, plus a romantic room arrangement. They went all out in setting these up with candles, petals and yummy food. Almost made me feel we were on honeymoon. I also like that their pool is open 24/7, really works well for people who like to start their day late. The lifeguards were also kind enough to teach us how to windsurf :) special shout out to kuya Albert for being extra patient with us.
