Awesome Japanese buffet in town
The choice of food is not bad, if you don't compare to hotel buffet. They offer choices of sashimi, sushi, tempura, salad, some hot dishes and cook stations for pasta and grilled dishes (like prawns, pork chop, steak and vegetables). All you can eat incl soft drinks, coffee and desserts. The service is pretty good. However, don't expect really good quality Japanese food.

Nice Dinner at the Oasis
This is regarding my dining experience at the hotel main restaurant the Fleur de Lys. Recommended by a friend we tried going there for the renowned Japanese buffet but ended up having steak dinner since the hotel have their own schedule . We were made to order from their selection of different steaks such as tenderloin, porterhouse and filet mignon among others. Sorry but there is no rib eye among choices . The soup, bread, salad , sides and dessert are in buffet format . The steaks were good , enhanced in flavor by the fact they are served in a sizzling skillet. Having it with gravy and other condiments are just fine. Good meal . The staff are ok also since they were attentive in serving us.

A hotel? Seriously?
It’s already mid-July and yet I feel like it’s April Fools. Everything you see here can be summed up in one word: DECAY. The walls, the ceiling, the fixtures. Probably the only remnant that will remind you that something was once new before are the plastic covers of the seat foams in the 3rd floor lobby. The bathroom stinks so much you might want to run elsewhere to pee. Even the swimming pool water looks swampy; I pity the dozens of children frolicking and in the process accidentally swallowing some of it. There is an on-demand escalator (when you request that it be turned on you will get “the look”) but stops at the 2nd floor then you have to walk your way up to the 3rd floor because it doesn’t work. Even the food lacks appeal; you’re better off at nearby Shakey’s, Yellow Cab, Max’s or just grab snacks at 7 Eleven. For the life of me, I cannot even imagine why it is called “Oasis”; you will soon realize that everything here is just a mirage.

A big hotel in San Fernando
Compared to other hotels in the area, this hotel is already big. Big enough to accommodate big groups such as seminars, trainings etc. The rooms are spacious enough with the basic amenities provided. There is a swimming pool if guests would want to take a dip. Parking seems to be no problem.

AVOID - Spend your money elsewhere
Please do this hotel a big favor and do not book, do not stay. In doing so, you will give it's owners/managers a reality check and help it renovate and hopefully give you a better experience. There is no denying that the location is good - signposted everywhere and off the main road, near loads of eateries such as shakey's and max's - spoilt for choice. But it seems like the hotel has capitalised on these points, have become lazy and not really cared about moving forward or giving better to its customers. When people comment on a basic room - it is that. A very uncomfortable noisy bed and one single pillow. The windows are thin so people facing the main road will have a very noisy stay and if it's not the traffic keeping you awake, it will be the rickety old air conditioning unit on it's last legs. The TV - those big fat old fashioned ones. You'll need to mess around with the aerial to get a decent picture (if you are lucky). Wifi - not even going there! Curtains - no black out curtains so not good if you are light sensitive. The bathroom is equipped with a bucket and tabo (scooper) just in case the shower doesn't work or no pressure at all. They provide you with ONE bath towel. We steady in a family room, 4 of us and 3 towels. We had a formal event to go to so was in need of an iron. I rang reception and asked for one. My reply was "Do you have a lot to iron?" to which I said yes detailing my items to her (thinking why do I need to justify my need for an iron). "Housekeeping is using it at the moment" - what? one iron for the entire hotel? Then she said "Ok we'll have someone bring it up to you but please can you call us when you're finished". Then when the said iron was delivered, I was told to be careful as it was still hot and I was handed a folded bed sheet - that was my ironing table! REALLY?! You need to request for a hairdryer - and a very small one gets delivered - what I can only describe as a Barbie hairdryer. There is no safety deposit box. The door keys are that - KEYS. Big heavy chunky keys attached to a big chunk of wood. Pool - didn't bother. Think there was a charge to use it. Didn't try the restaurant at all - with the "funny" smell you get when entering reception, I was put off. When checking out, I requested for the escalator to be switched on so my husband can come down with the luggage (and this knowledge was through reading the reviews here - thank you!) and yes, she gave me a look that meant I was an inconvenience. The next town - San Juan - is more up and coming. Plenty of beach hotels/villas - see Kahuna Beach Resort and Spa. Please do not stay here, you might think it's cheap and convenient as a stop over - anyone paying, however much, still deserve to have a decent stay/rest. (Management - please do not reply back saying if I had pointed this out to reception or spoken with the manager then my issues would have been dealt with. No, when checking in, one of the girls said she won't be able to help me further as she was going home, albeit she handed me over to her colleague - still not a nice feeling. Would be good to see intentions of renovating this hotel - feel a little pride in the owners/management)
